The grabing your finger when you try to scratch his head might be cause he does not want you too. My Que well grab my finger and push it away if I try something she don't like.
-
Before you plop down a down payment. I would call some of the avian vets in your area see if they can direct you to the local bird club or some breeders in your area. They can help you find other places to check on a new bird. Good Luck

Wow both seem a little over priced but maybe someone can help them out.

You didn't have to remove it. I just didn't want anyone to get confused.{Emotions-000200B8}

Only one phote per person. So I am thinking you want the wet bird one?

Thank you for your great responses. I know that here most of us keep our bird ownership within reason. But on some of the other forums I am on where people have 18 or more birds and keep adding. They justify it by taking in rehomes. I have also seen post from people complaining about not being able to take their bird to the vet or spend enough time with it then two weeks later announce a new bird. Again not here but I do see it. I thought this would be a great topic for this forum to bring up and keep in mind so none of us get in that boat. I for one would love a rose breasted too. But for many reasons well never own one.

Since it has been raining so much I wanted to do "Wet Bird". Here are the rules. One entry per person. Must have 50 post to enter. Can be a grey but you well get one extra karma for submitting any bird except a grey. 2 karma for every entry. You have till May, 18th to get your picture in. Picture must be taken by you. Ok GO!!!

Post edited by: Tari, at: 2008/05/19 12:42

MBS IS NOT A LAUGHING MATTER It is so strange how everyone always thinks this is so funny. But I have to wonder if we are doing birds any real favorers by taking in that bird no one wants. There are a few that do very well with lots of birds and can give them all they need but only a few most of us get in over our heads very quickly.(but rarely admit it to anyone) Then what? When do you say enough is enough? Can we say it? Here are some things to think about before adding just one more bird. Can you with no strain at all on the budget take your birds to an avian vet when needed? Can you spend at least 15 minutes in your face time daily with each bird? More is better. Do you have the space without making the rest of the family feel put out? Does your spouse roll their eyes or say something like "where do you plan to put it?' but would never come right out and tell you no? Just why do you want another one anyway? Is it so you can say you have a such and such? Or cause you think it well bond with you better then the others have? Why do we always laugh when people bring up getting a new bird? Why do we think MBS is funny? I for one have met my limit. Do you know what your limit is? Did you stop? Or well you stop? I am sure some of you think the same way but knowing it is not the popular thing to say and that people wont like you to point out the reasons not to get more birds. On the plus side less birds means you can buy the birds you do have the very best and more toys. It means you can build a special relationship with them that you could not have if you had to many cause your time is spread out. Just food for thought. Other then to hold him down(gently and in a towel of course) to get the syrup in him I have no clue. As far as diet none of mine are on pellets anymore as their main diet. They well still eat them but I prefer frozen veggies with fresh veggies, pasta, 12 bean soup cooked without the seasoning, rice and whatever I happen to have that is parrot safe and/or on sale. Harrison's is one of the better ones but it is still processed and not as fun to eat for my parrots. They like texture and different flavors just like I do. And bell peppers is a big hit around here too. Hope your grey is feeling better soon. Good luck

lol Que you to say "Stop" from my dog grooming days and I would still the dogs to "stop". Have not heard her say that in years. But she still says the shops name. "Pretty Puppy". lol

Calm down everything is fine here. If it gets out of control I well take care of it. Thats my job. BTW do you have any idea how loud macaws are? and so very very messy. That is why I could never own one. Why is it every guy wants one? lol Is it somehow a more manly bird? lol My husband loves the hyacinth out where I work and I am the only person that can touch that bird even the owner is afraid of her (only cause she has not spent any time with it) but it still scares me to death. That beak can really hurt someone.

What a cutie pie.

I don't feel strongly about it. I just know it does not hurt then at all.:cheer: But if I had no dogs, no cats, a maid, and a larger house I would leave mine all flighted. {Communicate-0002011B}

Post edited by: Tari, at: 2008/05/01 18:29 -
What? You mean you didn't save yourself for this night? Sorry could not resist.

You may need to move where the cage is. Example I can not but Que's cage in front of a window. She cry's and begs every time she sees me if her cage is in front of a window. Is she near something she was not when you had her in the old house? Like a painting or couch?

Long term effects? lol None of my birds have any bad effects cause they are clipped. Really it won't hurt him at all to be clipped.:kiss: -
LOL well Ok one karma for every vote and let me know so I can give it too you.
-
You know your right they do cost about 8000 but my friend has one that was given to her. They wanted someone they knew to have the bird. However they have not once come to visit in the five years she has had it.
-
No just vote is good no karma for voting on this contest. But thanks for the post.

Ya in most cases this kind of scam is to get your money. I would rather pay full price and get the bird rather then chance it. But that is just me.
