1. I hate peeling them cause either the shell comes off in tiny pieces or I get egg white with the shell and it takes to long for something so little.

Harnes help.

Since he is afraid of it this well take time. Lots of time. I cant get one on my grey at this time either. First you have to be able to touch your bird and have him allow you to hold his wings up. Once you can do this I would suggest you "wear" the harness when you are playing with your bird. Just drape it around your neck. Take it slow you want the bird to think of the harness as a fun thing. Does it have a hook? Shaped in a figure 8 or is it one of those flight suits that keep poop off you and has velcro? Or does it look like a safety harness with a sliding buckle?
6. ahh ok thank you for explaining. So Im guessing you don't have a regular avain vet if your bird got sick?
7. What is a clinic day? And why the beak trim was she having issues eating? I have never had Que's beak trimmed and she has scissor beak. It exposes nerves and no need to have a bird drugged unless you just absolutely have to. Glad she come out with a clean bill off health. Thank you for the update.
8. Gratz and can't wait to see pictures.
9. If he is biting you when you try to put it on it is to soon. You need to watch the DVD and work on the training tips. It was two weeks before I even tried to put mine on Topaz. And then I only put it on her neck. Slow down. Don't want Dayo to hate the thing.
10. Funny Que is the opposite(is that spelled right?) of this. She hates being near the windows. I tried to move the cage in front of the window one time and she went to begging and crying. She hated it. lol
11. Its the red glowing "eye' they think they have to kill it. lol

13. Sure Ill do it again real soon.
14. Hmmm Depends on the "twitch" could be a pin feather that is bothering him. Or he could of been weaned to early and just be hungry. In anycase if the breeder/present owner has no clue what this is I'd take it to the vet or have them do it. Is it the head that is twiching or the wings? Hungry birds twich their wings. You did the best thing if they could not answer your questions.
15. well my budgies get mostly the same things my other birds do only smaller. lol They don't hold food in their foot the way our Grey's do so small foods works best. Mine get mixed veggies, fruit, small budgie size pellets, pasta, cooked brown rice and they love broccoli but they like it best if I hand it with a cloth pin and they eat the heads off. So far this is the one they eat the most of. It takes time to change their diet just like with any parrot. They still get seeds and millet on regular bases too. Just keep an eye out that they don't get fat. So glad the vet was able to fix him up. Keep us posted on your new guy.

Post edited by: Tari, at: 2007/08/15 20:04
16. Just think how long they would of lived with a varied diet. WOW

I just love calicos. That one on the right looks like he has great finage. Got any more of him? lol Your tank set up looks great. It's amazing how with the right care how big these guys can get and how long they can live. My biggest is my orange fantail named Sunrise. He is almost 8 inchs and 2 years old. How big is your biggest one?
18. The one my husband had started at 2 inch's long. We kept a common pleco in the tank with him that was about the same size when we got it. The Oscar got to 16 inches the pleco was only 12 inch's. The Oscar took food from my husband hand. Would jump from the water to get the food. He kept heavy rocks on the tank top to keep the fish from hitting the glass and jumping out. And we had to buy a new heater yearly cause the Oscar would attack it. lol Ya he was alone can't keep anything with an Oscar and expect it to live. Even the pleco had battle scars on him from them fighting.
19. It is so great of you to save that baby. Be sure to get him on a varied diet with lots of fresh stuff and a good pellet mix. They do need seed but an all seed diet is just as bad for a budgie as it is for our greys. Gratz on your new baby. I have two and even though they are not tame and have to stay in the bedroom (stupid cat) they are so cool to hear chattering away. Post some picture soon in the other bird forum please cause
20. I have four goldfish in here. This tank has been set up for almost two years. But it use to house a 16inch oscar for about 10 years. My husband got tired of cleaning up after that messy fish and gave him to a guy with a 125gallon tank.

So what you plan to put in the 200g tank. I vote for goldfish. Maybe 10 with a few snails and a few bruslenose plecos. {Feel-good-0002006B} I have your tank set up pictured in my head.

Post edited by: Tari, at: 2007/08/15 18:05
22. I hate hate hate to shell boiled eggs. I try to do it when they are still warm but not so hot you can't hold them. And I add a little salt when boiling. But are there any other tips to make shelling a chicken egg easier?
23. Awww what a cutie pie. I just love TAG's and Im not bias at all. Nope not one little bit. Ok maybe a little. lol
