  1. No it just means your bird is local raised and not wild caught which are illegal. I have the band for my bird but it is not on her, I chose to leave it off, they can get it caught on something and hurt themselves and I don't want that.
  2. That is the exact reason some people say you should not allow them on your shoulder, but until something happens to change that I allow Josey on mine. Sorry about the bite but it was not her being mean to you it was because of something else.
  3. I have been warned that even though they are clipped they can still fly away so I don't take mine outside without her being in a cage of some sort until I get the chance to try out the aviator harness.
  4. I'll probably have to protect it like CD did with his, pvc, I don't think they can destroy that.
  5. Thanks Tari for the link, I think that site is where I saw them and wanted them, will have to get someone more creative to help me with it. It looks like it would be a fun toy for a grey to have.{Feel-good-00020114}
  6. Geoff that would be the funniest thing I have ever seen if there is a video of that. I imagine it could be taught to a grey but how I don't know, would take a lot of time I imagine.

Well that is a new one on me, I didn't know there were a species that you couldn't stroke them but one way. The eclectus is a beautiful bird also, and one those that you can tell the sex without a dna test.
  8. I have a red rose on my lower leg, remember I said I love red roses, thinking about getting a hummingbird on the other leg. What do you think? What kind of tattoos do you have?
  9. Back to the scale, if you can get one cheap then go for it, as long as it weighs in grams.
  10. Josey is not that picky but sometimes she is slower to accept new things. Now about that pressure washer, maybe I will give it a try.
  11. Yes you have to do something to keep that beak off of the wire, don't want well done grey. I will have to decide whether I want the one that goes down on top of the cage or hanging above it. Josey's cage is not flat on top so one hanging might be better.:cheer:
  12. Way to go there Talon, you got it cheaper than ole cheapskate.

Dblhelix I haven't heard that, I assumed you could scratch against the direction the feathers grow with any bird. Learn something new every day.

What price do you sell them for may I ask? I considered one before I got my sun conure.
  15. I am not the creative type, or I would do the same thing. Looks like Que loves to play in it, sometimes you never know what will attract them to some of their toys. Some of the ones I have offered to Josey she likes others she won't play with, money down the drain if they won't play with them.

They are precious babies, Tari, and especially the blue one. I saw some at the bird fair last weekend, very pretty birds. Thanks for sharing them with us.
  17. Now I have had that problem with my sun conure, she has bitten my granddaughter on the lip. Sunny was on my shoulder and I turned my head around to give her a kiss when my granddaughter came over to get a kiss from her also. Sunny leaned out and bit her upper lip, didn't break the skin but scared me to death, I did not want her hurt or for it to leave a scar. She has been to the house since and if Sunny is on my shoulder she will lean out to get my granddaughter if she gets close enough, she lunges at her. I don't think she has done anything to her to make her dislike her that I know of, I guess she is jealous of her getting too close to me. I have to be careful from now on when she is here and I have Sunny out on my shoulder. Sunny is not that way with my grandson so go figure.
  18. Thats ok, neither can we, and sometimes when we hurry to post, I know I really screw up and have to retype over. No greys are not high strung just very cautious like you said, with a lot of the similarities that Talon mentioned.
  19. Sometimes the bird picks you not vice versa.
  20. I have seen that toy somewhere, I wanted to get one for Josey, but are expensive for toys. Love the picture, theres some very good photos, gonna be a hard decision to make, glad its not me that has to decide which one.
  21. Thanks, as always you come thru for me, except for that one lapse.
  22. I taught Josey to make a big mess, she does that great, you should see it.
