Congrats on getting your baby home a couple of days earlier than planned and its wonderful he has surprised you so far but be prepared for him to be more cautious of new stuff as he gets older. Heres to the beginning of a magnificent start of the next chapter in your life and may it be all you hoped for, looking forward to finding out what his new name is, thanks for the pictures.
Teri you are doing great and that one instance is one small step on the road to trusting you so savor the moment and take them as they come, do not push for more than he is willing to give and you will be rewarded, I see a bright future for you two if you are patient.
Josey loves a little bit of chicken, turkey, dove or any other fowl my hubby bags and brings home to eat, she has no problem with it so neither do I, eat, enjoy.
My gram scale came with a perch but I don't use it, I never had any problem getting Josey to stand on it but probably the best advice is to leave it where your bird can see it so he can get used to it and an offer of a favored treat might do the trick also.
Thanks Tony for letting us know he is ok now, yes he probably bit his tongue and it was sore so he didn't want to eat much but all is fine now, why don't you tell us more about Albert and maybe share a picture or two of him.
Beth I can see that Jake is going to be one lucky grey when he finally arrives to his new home, he will think he has died and gone to heaven, we understand and love your passion of making everything perfect for your new arrival.
Ray is right, she needs some time to settle in and feel comfortable in her new home so allow her time to adjust before you push yourself on her but keep speaking to her and offering treats.
So this is a tough decision you have to make if you are thinking about moving out of the country you are living in now, I wouldn't want to be in your shoes but that is a long time to be in quarantine, non bird people just do not understand.
Some greys will regularly roll over on their back to play and some won't, mine has never done that and doesn't like it if I try to put her on her back so count yourself lucky that Brutus will do that, it looks so sweet when they lay on their back.
Congrats Jenni on your new baby Cag, you have done the research and now it is time to put all that knowledge to work but if you have any questions feel free to ask as that is why we are here but it looks like you are off to a great start with your new little one, looking forward to seeing some pictures soon.
This is just another bump in the road that we all have to deal with from time to time as life changes for each and every one of us, you will do what is necessary to keep the flock healthy and happy, now quit stressing about it and enjoy.
To us it would seem like an uncomfortable position but they are birds and can turn their heads farther around than we can so it is not uncomfortable for them to do it but I thought the reason they tuck one foot up was to rest it.
Yes James we would like to hear your theories on why you think they do it.
Welcome back Morana, you have been gone for quite a while, sorry to hear of your health problems and hopefully that is all behind you now and you can get back to posting and sharing with us.
So glad to hear that Zak is fine and he is keeping you busy, after all he is the master and you are his servant, refill please.
