  1. Don't feel sorry for Kim, she will love it, coming home and Dayo running to her for attention, she will just eat it up, it will make her day. Dayo will get used to being by himself, especially if you leave him plenty of toys to occupy his time.
  2. You can ask us any question you may have, we will try to give you the best possible answer. We are all a family of grey lovers here and we love helping each other with our problems. It is common for greys to bond with one person but it is unlikely to if it is socialized with contact with as many different people as possible. We look forward to hearing more about your grey quest and keep us informed as to what you do find out and certainly when you get one, we want pictures.
  3. Dan, I knew you could do it and so glad you have joined the club with us, isn't this great, we are super talkers and we enjoy it don't you think. You are a great guy and I am proud to be one of your friends here and I know I can count on you for anything. People like you don't come along every day and I am glad I have had the chance to get to know you and your wife. You two are super people and I appreciate every thing you do for us here. Keep up the good work. We love you here.
  4. I know I want to get some if I can, I don't know how yummy they would be for humans, but the greys seem to enjoy them. I'll have to try Dan's idea.
  5. Geoff, we need an update on Mirek, how is he doing now?
  6. Dan was probably one of those kids that took everything apart to find out how it worked, but it comes in handy and we won't let you get lonely over it.
  7. Oh what a sweet little bird, Melissa, so he chose a keet over a dog, well good choice, I say and I bet Mom is glad too, ha ha. Name choice is good too, I like Sparky.
  8. Yes, Nellie, I see a big heart too, and you do need to try to wean himself and you off the feedings, although I do feed my grey some baby food and such in the mornings with a spoon, but you are doing it more than once a day and you need to get out of this cycle. Try offering him other foods, especially veggies and eat some yourself in front of him to encourage him to try it. You sound like you don't have much self control but you can do this if you set your mind to it and then do it. Like the Nike commercial, "just do it".
  9. I believe they are flexible enough to adapt to some changes, because we all go thru times when things are not on a schedule, and that is best because they can handle it better.
  10. Thanks, Dan, for doing all this work for us, I just love people like you.
  11. I don't want no runny eggs, and that is probably true, lovemygreys, but I knew you could add vinegar but not what it was for. Thanks for clarifying that for me.
  12. I'll have to do a search and see if they are available here in the US, I'm sure Josey would like to tear them up. I'm at work now but I will look when I get home.
  13. I wish I could get my hands on some of those palm nuts, I do feed Josey a little of the palm oil every day, but the nut itself would be super.
  14. Hello, Becky, and welcome to the family, we are glad you joined. You may ask us any questions you may have, we will do our best to answer each and every one. Please give us some more information if you would, like how old your grey is, how long you have had it and what its name is. And if you have a pic you want to post we would be delighted, we love pics. Can't wait to hear more about your grey.
  15. Count me in for one too, I love the look of this one, looks like fun for them, where did you get this or is it homemade?
  16. Welcome, Neighbor940, to the family of grey owners. I would suggest you use a treat or something he loves to eat as encouragement to get him to fly to you. Try doing it closer to him to get him used to coming to you and then each lesson get farther away and see if he will fly to you. And when he does, lavish praise on him, they respond to gushing over them. About the toys, do a google search for bird toys and you should come up with a lot of places to purchase toys appropriate for greys. Some of them favor wooden toys, some like acrylic toys, most usually like anything they can destroy. We also have several threads that deal with different types of toys and things you have around the house that make excellent toys. My question to you is if you have had him for 3 years, what has he been playing with during that time. They need different toys to keep them occupied especially when you are not at home. I am not criticizing you, but trying to understand what he has been playing with for 3 years. I keep an assortment of toys and rotate them from time to time so my grey does not get bored.
  17. You got a point there, Dan, why not feed them the real deal. Maybe that is why they eat them so readily. Hmm, hmm, got me thinking, and that is not easy to do.
  18. I have also heard you can add a little vinegar to the water when you cook the eggs and maybe that will help to peel the shells off better.
  19. Me too, but a meteor falls right into the balloon and puts such a hole in it, the balloon collapses and the basket plummets to the ground and all inside perish. I would like to be able to see my granddaughters every day.
  20. But after you ingest them, your cholesterol level raises so high you have a stroke and cannot move your right side and you cannot speak. I want a large bowl of butter pecan ice cream with a cherry on top.
  21. But your wife leaves you and takes Dayo with her, you go to the Bahamas alone, but there is a tidal wave that washes the sand away and you are left with nothing to relax on and no coconuts so therefore no pina coladas. I want love, more love and everlasting love.
  22. Well congrats on having a girl instead of a boy, but she is still the same bird, and I like that name too.
  23. We are here to answer any questions you may have, all you have to do is ask, if we don't know we will try our best to get you the answer. We are all family here and everyone is willing to help. I am glad all is going well for the moment and I commend you for taking in these birds.
  24. Welcome, Nellie,to the family, glad you joined.
