  1. Well here is a dilemma with two agreeing its normal and two deciding it is not and since two of them have more than one grey you would think they were right but they differ from each other. I think in reality it is a snail, now let it get back to its shell, I'm tired of looking at it:sick:
  2. Glad to hear it went well and I am betting it is a Simone, I have a gut feeling but then I have been known to be wrong:blink: B)
  3. That does not look very normal to me, but love the way the pic is so big it kind of jumps out at cha, nothing like a pile of poop right up in the face.  Is it like this all the time, it should have while parts and liquid to it?
  4. He/she is a lovely Tag and it is a more mature bird and not a baby, you can tell by the eyes. Thanks Heather for sharing that with us:P
  5. Talk about oven ready:whistle: that is a shame while at the same time it is so funny, thanks for sharing that with us Mark:laugh:
  6. I hope so too but heavens no you are not a bad person, if we all gave in when we saw birds like that we all would be feathered under, know what I mean, you did the right thing.
  7. One way to tell the age is the eyes, as recently weaned babies the eyes are dark then gradually lighten to gray then to a slight yellow. You are providing him with a good varied diet with lots of veggies and the addition of pellets would round it out nicely. Most greys love getting their necks scratched and will allow you to do it for as long as you can keep your hand moving, oh yeah that feels good!!!

    finally

Great link there Tracy, wonderful stuff to read and digest, boy did we pick the right mod for this room or not!!!:cheer: B)
  9. I agree you should go with a baby or very young grey at this time. I know how you feel about the two you saw, you just want to give them a good home and the love and attention they so need but you have to be practical too, maybe later you can tackle something like that.
  10. Hello Heather and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your grey. BTW, what is its name or are you waiting to know what sex it is before you name it? Funny you mention the sun conure and the grey, those are the exact two species I have, I started with the sun then got the grey, I love both of them. How old do you suppose this grey is, I am assuming not too old since it seems easy to handle and not doing much talking yet. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have, we will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of your grey you would like to share with us we would love to see it.
  11. You never know they may throw their 2 cents worth in too, we're all full of it you know:laugh:  :woohoo:
  12. Hello Shelly and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Adanna. Thats a lovely name for a grey, does it have a special meaning? So you are having a hard time potty training her, even though she may eventually get the hang of it she will continue to make a mistake from time to time so don't worry about it too much. Take a little time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have, we will do our best to get some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Adanna you would like to share with us we would love to see her.
  13. Boy, you got it bad for your baby and it is so refreshing to hear the enthusiasm in your posts, Evolet is going to be one spoiled grey, lucky her.

That is a lovely name Saphira, and I could never tell you were so proud of her:whistle: she sounds like a doll.
  15. Try this link for some suggestions on potty training your grey. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/training/33728-potty-training-tips.html Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room.
  16. Yeah Falconeer upload a photo of your bird's poop so we can take a look at it, nothing like adding a little crap to the day:laugh: :pinch:

I don't see a picture but that weight sounds fine, you have a pretty good size female there too, looks like you are doing a good job with her, keep up the good work and keep us informed.
  18. Unlike your 13 year old son, Max will never "grow up" he will probably always be a little bugger, he will be like that his entire lifetime:blink:
  19. Yes they are, very clever and glad they get to enjoy the outdoors and some sunshine, thanks for sharing that with us, I love it.
  20. I look forward to seeing some more pics of Hoban and we have an other birds room where you can post them when you can.
  21. Hello Melisa and welcome to the family, so glad you have decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this grey you want to get. So your daughter got you caught up in the bird obsession, my son was responsible for mine and it started with a pair of finches, and then a sun conure and finally my Cag, Josey who will be 2 years old next month. See you can catch MBS very easily. Take a little time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have, we will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. BTW, I know you are going to love it here.B)
  22. Sometimes it just works that way, the bird will pick you and not vice versa. Your senegal is a lovely little fellow from the pic in your profile but continue to work on the step up command. When he bites too hard tell him "no bite" and put him back on the perch or in his cage and turn your back and leave him for 10 to 15 minutes and then go back and try again. He will soon learn biting will not be tolerated.
  23. If you love the greys then it is not going to matter whether you get a Tag or a Cag, they are both super birds just a little difference in coloring and size but not by much. Since you have never had a grey before and have only had your senegal for a short time I would advise you to go with a baby grey. Rescues and rehomed birds usually come with baggage that you may not be able to deal with. That being said we do have some members here who have rescued and rehomed greys that turned out to be wonderful companions and you will hear from some of them in the next few days. In the meantime why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about yourself.
  24. Donna I think Cooper will remember you but you may have a setback on the stepping up but you can work on it when you get back. Yes it would have been ideal to have waited until after you got back from your trip but that is water over the dam now.
  25. I didn't think you wanted to drug Makena:dry: I knew it and I am so happy for the two of you, I want to see pics when you can manage it:kiss:
