  1. Maybe she is going thru a molt, they look a little rough then but what kind of diet was she on before you got her? If it was lacking in the proper nutrition that could account for the feathers looking that way. Do you give her any red palm oil, if not get some and add about 1/4 teaspoon to some food every day, it helps the feathers too.
  2. Corkey is a cutie and she makes a good subject too, thanks for sharing a pic of her with us:P
  3. OMG, LMAO, these are so funny but then not so funny at the same time, its getting more real every day.:ohmy:
  4. Vinegar has so many other uses too and its not just for salads either:laugh: now elbow grease is in short supply.:whistle:
  5. Just look at those little babies sitting there in whipped topping cups, they are so adorable, thanks so much Dave for sharing those with us, I love them.:kiss:
  6. The breeder usually puts the ring on the baby while it is still small enough to get the ring on over the foot, I chose to not have the ring put on Josey but I do have it for ID purposes. I have heard some horror stories about the ring getting caught on something and their foot gets hurt. You don't need any suppliments or such if you feed it a balanced and varied diet.

    treats?

    You will soon learn what your grey likes the most and use that as the treat for rewards and don't feed that to them except as the reward.
  8. Hello Dan and welcome to the family, so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Tiah, what a lovely name for a grey. At 8 months old she is making all kinds of sounds and starting to form a few words, soon she will say them more clearly and then it will be phrases. They are very good mimics also so a lot of the sounds in your household will end up coming from her as she learns to master her tongue. Take a little time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have, we will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Tiah you would like to share with us we would love to see her.
  9. Josey does the same thing, she makes all kinds of sounds that I don't know where she got them from, who knows maybe she is making them up as she goes along:laugh: I just laugh:P
  10. Thanks Spence for sharing some pics with us, Chloe is so adorable and yes most do love cheese, Josey goes nuts over it. It looks like your lizard is shedding its skin too but good pics of them too. Danny ain't bad either:laugh: :laugh:
  11. Leslie, aka parrotlady has probably nailed it with the wing clip and she should know as she has ten greys, I'd say that practically makes her an expert!!
  12. Just what does it smell like Hannah? I haven't heard of it but it sounds like it might be worth a try.
  13. tawney wrote: OUCH I know that hurt:pinch: bet he looks in the fish tank from the other side huh!!!:blink:
  14. Score another one for Dave LMAO & PMSL, "aimed incorrectly"!!! {Feel-good-0002006E}
  15. I'm so excited, I saw my first hummingbird this year today, they have come home from their long journey across the Gulf of Mexico and part of the US to Virginia. I will make them some sugar water and put it out in feeders for them to drink while they are here for the summer. The one I saw was a Rufus hummingbird, the male has a ruby red throat, I just love watching them come to the feeders and fight with each other over the food. One will sit nearby and defend his feeder from the others and they zip thru the air so quickly for such a small bird, I have actually had them run into me trying to keep the others away. Do any of you put out feeders for the hummingbirds?
  16. Well you will have to guide her to your shoulder or arm instead of your head if you want her to stop landing on your head, it might take a while but she will eventually learn she is not to land there, good luck!!
  17. Leslie that is simply amazing that they all do live together peacefully, you and Tracy must be cut from the same cloth. How do you handle the one on one time with them, I can just all ten of them climbing all over you at the same time, what a picture!!!
  18. I love that picture Crazybird and he will get more proficent in his flying with a little time, practice makes perfect they say, thanks for sharing that with us and don't lose the website again, put it in your favorites, we want to hear more from you. B)
  19. Like the others said you will have to keep it from your other birds and do look around and see if someone is missing a ringneck parakeet, it obviously belonged to someone and escaped. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you.
  20. Moving is such a hassle but glad it is done and over with and now you can join your friends here on the forum for we have missed you and the stories of the antics of Bella and Jiggy. Now you will have to makeup for lost time, I am dying to hear more:laugh:
  21. Actually the Adventure Pack travel cage comes with a netting cover but I have never used it.B)
  22. I'll cry if I want to, hey thats a song isn't it!!! {Feel-good-0002006E}

  25. I have the tabletop one and both my birds use it but not at the same time and it is in the kitchen so one of them can play on it while I work but I have been thinking of getting one of the floor models too. Tracy just give them a little time and they will come to love it, you just wait and see:laugh:
