Thats a cute pic of your grey and the dog, it does look like Seamus is whispering something in Smokey's ear, wonder what it was, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm:blink:  thanks for sharing that with us Dave:P

You are doing the right thing Pat, she needs a full workup at the vet's office, there might be some reason why she is falling and it may not have anything to do with her talons, please keep us updated on her and let us know what you find out from the vet.

Did you make the oatmeal kind of thin, more soupy than I would prefer for myself, and I mix in a little baby food or applesauce is good too. Have a look in the bird food room for ideas and suggestions for things they prefer and should eat. Yes he can get too much egg, I would not give it to him every day.

my caf constant squeeling when im not by cage.
judygram replied to jjcool's topic in The GREY Lounge
Doesn't sound like squealing to me either, just normal grey sounds and not that loud either, he definitely is asking for attention and you are giving it to him so why should he quit. When you go over to him then that is only reinforcing that the noise is getting his way. Why not let him out while you are home to play on a playstand or to entertain himself on the top of his cage. -
That is so cute, like "look at me, I can hang with the best of them" thanks for sharing that with us.

Pepper was like a member of the family so it will take time to recover from the loss but we are here for you if you need us, if you just want to talk about it or share some stories of Pepper's life as we fully understand how you must feel. Take comfort in the fact that Pepper was happy for the time you had him and he knew you loved and adored him and you will see him again one day.....

I can understand that and I have some suggestions from another post I copied and pasted here for you: General things to look for: - healthy feathers and skin - clear nares w/o crusts etc - clear alert eyes - clear vent area w/o droppings stuck to feathers - general alertness and interest in environment (but remember babies may be sleepy at some times of the day!) - good beak and nail condition - check feet/toes - check wings (have them spread out) Also you might see which one maybe takes an interest in your presence, sometimes one will be more receptive of you than the other, hope this helps.

They grow so fast as babies and I can't wait to see some pics of the new little ones, please take your camera and get a few shots of them to share with us.

Hello Tabby and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new baby. We have some excellent threads in the nursery room that will answer some of these questions of yours so have a read thru and then post any questions unanswered. The breeder makes some excellent points in making sure the baby is fully weaned before you can take it home and requiring you to make visits to form a good relationship, not that she could keep you away if she wanted to, I know the feeling as I visited mine too. Take a little time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful and helpful information, ask questions and we will do our best to find some answers for you and help you in any way we can.

Boy what a nice setup for Max and he sure enjoys it and the wall:ohmy: I have Josey's cage pulled out somewhat from the wall so she cannot get to if from the cage, maybe you should have done that, too late now though:( Thanks Mark for sharing some pics of Max's setup:P

"""""I thought this would be a great topic for this forum to bring up and keep in mind so none of us get in that boat.""""" I completely agree Tari and you have made an excellent thread and I second Dan's comment that this be made a sticky with the title as he suggested. I too would love to have more birds but I question having the time to devote to another bird and the one I would have is one that requires lots of it. I think most of us here are the kind of parrot owners that know their limits and give their all to the ones we own, not that we wouldn't love to have one more but we have to be realistic, we want what is best for the bird not just what we would love to have.

Sorry to say the photo did not post but glad to hear it is going well for you and Cooper, he sounds like a real sweetie and you are very proud of him as you should be. I would be cautious about letting him have the jam off the toast as it is full of sugar and that is a no no and I would go easy on the grapes, they have little nutritional value, offer other fruits instead.

You really do need to be more careful of having her outside without any kind of harness on her, even with the wings clipped she could possible fly away if she was suddenly startled, just watching out for your precious baby.

Those are great pics of Fawkes and her acrobatics, wish I could get Josey to go over on her back but I notice that you have your sleeves pulled down over your hands when handling Kanye, is that for a reason:huh: but thanks for sharing them with us:P

The babies are so cute and I love the rose breasted cockatoo, that is the bird I would love to own, thanks for sharing them with us:P

Beaker is a stinker all right, he is a cute little lad, thanks for sharing it with us SiobhanB)

I know you are depressed right now Carol but I am sure Bobby will be fine and you need to be upbeat and positive because he will sense it and react to it. Poor thing, he does not feel well but he will soon perk up and be back to his old self, just have faith. I too spoon feed Josey some oatmeal and baby food every day and so far I have not had to administer any meds but I am prepared in case I do.

Welcome back Bruce, we certainly missed you a lot but I understand how busy you were, that sofa time is long overdue and we only have a short time until you are out to sea for a while. You have a lot of catching up to do but spend some quality time with Mazy, she will miss you terribly when you leave next month.

I like the hyacinth macaws but they are not for me, a little too big, I am more into those that are no bigger than the greys, like a galah, now thats a bird I could deal with.
-
I don't blame you Dave, I wouldn't either but Josey has seen her reflection in the mirror and she was not bothered with it, of course she is still a baby at 2 years of age, maybe it differs with a mature bird.

Yes please keep us updated on Bobby, we care about him already and we have only just met:)

Help is just a pm away:P B)

Hi to everyone from me and Bobby!
judygram replied to c_s_k22's topic in Welcome & Introduction Room
Hello Carol and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Bobby. Not to get off subject, but I am a grandma to 3 grandkids and I love it, you will too, you can spoil them senseless and then send them home:laugh: A lot of greys will prefer one person in the household over another but they still have a relationship with each one just a little different. My Josey is bonded to me and she is my bird, my hubby does not have much to do with her and that suits me fine, she is becoming a little more tolerant of him as time goes on but I am her favorite. Please read thru some of the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have and we will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Bobby you would like to share with us we would love to see him. -
Yogi will have that bright red tail soon enough and he definitely looks Cag from your avatar. I look forward to seeing more pics of Yogi.
