  1. Carol I am sorry to hear of Bobby's troubles but have not heard any complaints about the Harrison's pellets. The high potency is what I feed my Josey and I swear by it as it is highly recommended. I doubt that the Harrison pellets had anything to do with the death of Alex and I would be very surprised that the pellets had anything to do with Bobby's crop infection. I have not had any experience with giving a grey meds as my Josey has been healthy so far but we do have members who have given all types of meds before so some of them will chime in soon with some ideas and suggestions for you. I know you are concerned about your boy and I would be too but I am sure he will be ok. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you and Bobby.
  2. Hello Big_Squishy and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey you are going to get. Did you not find anything on the site www.avianbiotech.com as that is a good site to look for breeders in a specific area? Maybe some of the members who are from that area will give you some names of reputable breeders and guide you in the right direction. In the meantime, read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have and we will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can.
  3. Thanks Siobhan, I try my best you know:laugh: :woohoo:
  4. If you have no experience in handfeeding a baby bird I do not suggest you get an unweaned baby, too much can go wrong and a reputable breeder will not sell you one either. By waiting until the baby is weaned to bring it home is not going to affect the bonding process as the breeder will be seen as the parent and you will be it's flock member. Most of us here purchased ours after being fully weaned, me included, and they have bonded to us. I would look for breeders of greys and not in pet stores, you never know where they came from and a breeder can be of a lot of help to a new grey owner. For breeders in your area have a look at this website: www.avianbiotech.com
  5. Hello Leah and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Yogi. I know the feeling of empty nest syndrome but I just love my birds, I have a Cag named Josey and a sun conure named Sunny. I may get me another bird eventually but that is another subject. Your friend that recommended us is right, we are the best source for information about greys on the internet and you won't find a more helpful bunch of members than right here. Take a little time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have and we will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Yogi you would like to share with us we would love to see him.

  10. Josey says shutup but usually only to tell Sunny to quit screaming, I don't mind that and she has also said bad bird but not too much, of course hubby taught her to say those things:angry: so I guess I am going to have to slap him around some, heh heh heh:whistle: :woohoo:
  11. Everyone knows you can't have just one!!!

  16. Gaevren, I have found that a sense of humor is required for just surviving our daily lives with or without our greys, it certainly gets me thru a lot of days:laugh:
  17. Girls, girls, girls lets get back on topic here or I will have to bring out the big guns, LOL:laugh:
  18. Well for heavens sake clean him off Falconeer and do it while it is still fresh, it comes off better then, men, you can't do anything with them LOL:laugh:

  21. So what if they do, that is so funny but I can see how it may be embarrassing but don't worry about it, they will think the kids did it and they did, don't you just want to put a muzzle on them sometimes LOL:laugh: :woohoo:
  22. This is great news Amy and glad you left the wings alone and congrats on the compliments about Biggles, you must be doing something right, thanks for letting us know how the vet visit went.
  23. Not for bathing Falconeer, you need the aloe vera juice for bathing, you can use the gel for cuts or bruises.
  24. Don't be insulted by it, she was just making a joke but not too many people save themselves for marriage anymore.
