I am speechless Graehstone after reading this and once again I have a little tear in my eye, thank you so much for sharing this story with us, your stories are simply amazing to read and so heart warming for the soul:kiss:

I didn't know what to expect at first from the title of this thread but I like it very much:) and the same to you.:side: :silly:

I don't think you are giving her enough time, remember lots of time and patience is what brings about results and if you have only had her for a couple of weeks that is not nearly enough time, think in terms of months, slow but sure. She will eventually get into playing with her toys, like everything else it takes time for her to decide she is settled enough to have a go at them.

Thanks for sharing that with us Graehstone, if you can do it after 24 years then anyone can and I am so proud of you for doing that and I'm sure Katrin appreciates it (makes the kisses sweeter) and of course the fids are the better for it too.

Mark, I am going to hold you to this promise of quitting on Aug 30th, your 40th birthday, you can do this and we will be behind you 110%. You are the same age as my daughter, she will turn 40 on the 30th of this month and I can say that neither I, my hubby, my son and daughter or their spouses have ever smoked so I may not know what you are going thru but I understand it is a difficult thing to do. Good for you Mark in making this committment to your health.

Dorian will be a little jealous but you are doing the right thing in keeping her first in verything as she is top bird but she will come around eventually. She just needs some time to adjust to having a new member to the flock and the best thing is to just keep up with whatever you were doing for Dorian so she knows that she does not feel slighted by the addition of Oscar. Remember time and patience can work wonders with our birds and it takes lots of it sometimes so heavens no, don't even think of returning him where he came from, things will get better in time, just be patient.

No I got it, the grey is glued to her shoulder, see how the feet are so flat to the surface, poor thing had to stand there like that for so long for the artist to paint that portrait:laugh: just kidding everyone, I would never advocate doing such a thing:whistle: :cheer: That is a wonderful thought, Graehstone, and thanks for sharing that with us.

Our bird club has an annual bird fair in June and I usually can get good deals on toys and things there. They have birds for sale also but it is mostly the smaller ones, budgies, canaries, keets, tiels and lots of finches, but you might find a few macaws, greys or a cockatoo or two:lol:

casper wrote: Caroline, I am married too but what has that got to do with the price of gold in China:laugh:   Its only his arms, lower leg and his back, for gosh sakes, I mean Graehstone showed his full back and no one complained about that, besides we all love looking at other's tattoos and that goes double for me. -
I have checked out the photos in your profile and Misty is an adorable grey, you will get the hang of getting pics in your posts but in the meantime we know where to find her:P B)

That is simply amazing that grey did that, of course he wouldn't do it for the police but at the vet's office, I guess he didn't feel comfortable enough to talk at the station but it got him returned to his owners, thanks so much Dan for sharing that heartwarming story with us:kiss: B)

Sounds good to me Caroline:laugh:

I am very impressed, that is a massive tattoo on your back and the artist did a good job with it. How long have you had this tattoo and how many others do you have on your body? I have two, one of a rose and the other is a hummingbird, both on my leg, the same leg and I am thinking of getting me another. Thanks for sharing that with us and why don't you turn around so we can see your face, it would be nice to have a face to go along with the wonderful stories you share with us, think about it. -
Those are wonderful shots of Gracie taking a bath or at least trying to and I love the 3rd pic and how you captured the droplets of water, I guess we can add photographer to your resume for you take very, very good ones. Thanks so much for sharing them with us. But you do need to size them down some to make them easier to view.

Post edited by: judygram, at: 2008/05/20 19:14

Your orchids are absolutely gorgeous, I just love them and you have them all over the house, even in the bathroom, wow, I only have 4 total plants and they are in my family room where the light is the brightest. I enjoyed reliving your morning immensely and feel free to relive more mornings with more orchid photos if you want, please:kiss:

Hello Marti and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Mac. Have you had Mac since he was a baby? Most of us here purchased our greys as babies but some are rescues and rehomed ones, either way is a rewarding experience as I am sure Mac is to you. Take some time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have and we will do our best to find you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Mac you would like to share with us we would love to see him.

Hello Granimal and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your quest for a grey. I agree, greys are awesome creatures and you have done the right thing in waiting until you could properly care for one as they do take your time and having one is a lifetime committment. We do have several members who live in the Atlanta area but if you want to just do a search for breeders locally why don't you check out this site: www.avianconnection.com and they will list breeders in your area. Please read thru the any threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have and we will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can.
