Hello Mcleany and welcome to the family, so glad you stumbled onto our site and we look forward to hearing more about you and your grey. What is his name btw?
Boy you really took on a responsibility in getting a grey as the first parrot, they are unlike others as you are finding out but they can be very rewarding as a companion and pet.
I would suggest you read thru as many of the threads as possible for lots of useful and helpful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our utmost to get you some answers to those questions and help you in any way we can.
We love to admire each other's greys so if you have some pictures you would like to share with us that would be very much appreciated.
Hello Wastrox and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Cheerio.
Is this your first parrot and/or first grey? I assume this is a rehomed or rescued grey since it is 2 years old and you just acquired it. Do you have any other pets in your household?
Please take a little time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get some answers for you and help you in any way we can.

Thats pretty much a given, if you allow your grey on your shoulder then you have to give up the earrings but if you prefer to wear the earrings then you don't allow your grey on your shoulder, plain and simple. I chose to shoulder my grey so I only wear earrings when I am going out.
No but if you have kids don't let them watch SpongeBob Squarepants or your grey will imitate that laugh, Josey has done that and it is hilarious:woohoo: :woohoo:
Oh I love hummingbirds, I have one tattooed on my leg, I put out feeders for them every spring for we don't have them year round in VA, thanks for sharing them.
You really need to resize them down a little to fit the page, especially the first 2, much too large to view properly.
 Yeah I have a lot more of "those days" than I care to count, especially now that I am older and not necessarily wiser, know what I mean:whistle:
I think Ozzy sees this as kind of a game, he is being entertained by her reaction to his biting you and then her laughing about it. You need to talk to your aunt about this so she can stop doing this for Ozzy will continue to do it for the reaction he is getting out of it.
Don't feel bad because of it for she is the one reinforcing bad behavior and not you. Why don't you have her read some of the threads here for some information about how to stop this type of behavior.
Oh my, not a very good morning for you huh, well I am doing great, its Friday and I have a 3-day weekend with the sun shining, temps in the 70s to 80 and I plan on relaxing and enjoying life. B)
Pat I am so happy for you and it just shows that time and patience will bring them around and I just bet you do have a permanent smile on your face and you should, very proud of you.

Are you having a bad day Christo, it happens to the best of us sometimes but I can relate to your grey reacting to something you wore. One day I put on a pair of shorts I had not worn before around Josey and she didn't like them one bit, she ran around in a tizzy trying to get away but she soon calmed down, funny how something simple like that can affect them.:pinch:
Oh yeah she talks up a storm when she wants to but she didn't really start talking until she was about 1 year of age. Before that she did the mimicing of timers and other sounds she heard in the house and did what I call jibberish, I guess she was practicing for when she did make intelligible words.
Are there not any birds in Vegas?
If you do a search on the internet that should give you plenty of sites that would show different species and you could find books there too, why don't you try that.
I hear ya Graehstone and where does it stop but prices are fairly low here in Virginia, I just filled up today with $3.69 a gal but I shudder to think what price it may go to soon.
Hello Joselyn and welome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Gordie.
You still have a baby if Gordie is only 8 months old but then so is mine, she will be 2 years old on Sunday and she is still considered a baby. Do you have any other parrots?
Take a little time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can.
Thanks for posting a pic of Gordie, a nice looking grey, as we usually have to ask for one.
