1. I can't wait to see how you handle the one with the stubborn streak in the morning:lol: :silly:
2. Me too, Tracy, I must just have it lucky or something, I never have a problem with Josey stepping up for me:whistle:
3. Just a few Jimmy, gosh how many would it have been if you had said a lot, looks like you had a good time at Disney World but you don't say what happened when you got back, did Cosmo miss ya and welcome you back?
4. Yes I had mine DNA tested before I got her or named her but then Josey would have been a suitable name for either sex:P
5. I am so sorry to hear you lost Coocie and my heart breaks for you right now but you did the best you could but it was just not meant to be. I'm sure he loved you as much as you loved him and you will miss him deeply but one day you will be reunited. I hope one day you can get another grey but for now you need to let yourself heal from the loss and then you can honor his memory by bringing another grey into your life.
6. Hello Kinga and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new bird you plan on getting. I hope this means you have decided on a grey but whatever species you select make sure it is what you want and you are doing the right thing to research all you can before you make that plunge. If you have had budgies then you at least have some bird experience but a grey is entirely different but can be a very rewarding experience if you know firsthand before you go into it what to expect. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have and we will do our best to find you some answers and help you in any way we can.
7. I'm trying to log off but you keep bringing me back with all this stuff, stop it so I can get some work done:angry: just kidding:lol: don't you ever stop with all these posts that keep me either smiling from ear to ear or LMAO:woohoo:
8. Sounds like all is well at the monkey house and that is great to hear, yes we all have our quirks don't we, but if they can accept us for what we are then the least we can do is accept them for what they are.
9. Where there is a will there is a way, since she is out of the cage and you really need to put her back in I would just grab her body with one hand and right her up and then make her step up but then that is how I would do Josey if she did me the way Liath is doing you.:silly: :side: :pinch:
10. Sameera, I have included a link to a site that gives the safe and unsafe types of wood and Eucalyptus is on the safe list. I don't know about sterlizing it but I think the site included a link to more information so maybe that is there too for research. http://www.mdvaden.com/bird_page.shtml

Post edited by: judygram, at: 2008/05/28 17:57
11. Thats something I would be interested in doing as I do cross stitch, haven't done any in a while but I like doing it, very tedious though and my eyes are not what they used to be. Thanks for sharing it with us, Mike;)
12. My sun and my grey do not get along, the sun wants to nip at Josey if she gets the chance so I keep a distance between them when they are out. I seldom have both of them on me at the same time but if I do I have to keep them separated, one on each shoulder. I got the sun first, I wanted to start out with a smaller parrot then when I had gained some confidence with her then decided to go for the grey. When you first bring your grey home you will have to keep it in a separate part of the house for quarantine period of at least 45 days in case your sun may be harboring a disease you don't know about yet, that is just standard procedure. In the meantime, they will be able to hear one another and know that another bird is in the house but just show him/her to your sun without bringing them close and observe their reactions and that will tell you what you can expect but never let them get too close that one might lunge for the other. Josey is the more timid bird and Sunny, my conure is the more aggressive one so I have to watch them for even though Sunny would lunge at her Josey could do the damage if she chose to retaliate.
13. Hello Rhonda and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new Tag you want. I also have a sun conure named Sunny and she is a delight to have, very different from my grey but a great bird to have the pleasure of enjoying. So you want to name your grey Jack even if it is a female, I don't see anything wrong with that name for a female, everyone has their own tastes and if that is what you want then go for it, we have one member whose female grey is named Harrison but she thought it was a male then found out different and decided to keep the name since it has had it since she first got her. Take some time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will do our best to find some answers and help you in any way we can.
14. Thanks for a hearty laugh this morning..... {Feel-good-0002006E}
15. Thats good that you check his poops in the morning but for a while I would keep a closer check maybe all day long for a while to see if you see any more of those bits and if you do get rid of that bag and get another but the sad thing is a certain amount of debris is allowed in feedstuffs and still pass the safety checks. Pooky is lucky to have a watchful owner looking out for him who loves him dearly, but then don't we all.
16. Oh yeah, Siobhan, she has you pegged all right and you are letting her get away with it if you don't push onward and make her step up. If you play along with her little game it will never end so who is the smarter cookie here, she has you right where she wants you so it is your job to show her different, right:whistle:
17. Kim, standing on one foot with the other pulled up to the body is normal behavior, they are resting that foot and they usually do that when relaxed;)
18. Jackie, what did the vet say other than it could have been a bit of broken shell in his feed? Thats probably what it was and no it has not happened to Josey but if he passed it with no problems and the vet is not concerned then it is something that could happen with anyone's bird, it probably happens more often than we think. As long as he is acting normal otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.
19. I feel sick to my stomach just thinking about all the birds that may be lost during free flight by all those people who buy into his idea that anyone can safely take their bird out after watching his video and using his so called "advice"
20. She's definitely not dull, most of the time she is a little sweetie but she has her moments of naughtiness and that is what makes her so endearing. I can't wait to get home on the weekdays from work to get her and Josey out for some fun while I start the second shift.   :woohoo:  B)
21. Well it put a smile on my face and it is not my strong point either.....:woohoo: Our nice sunny days have come to an end, raining here today but it is much needed so let it come as the garden needed a little liquid refreshment;)
22. Trembling of the chest feathers seems to be caused by different things but we all agree that they all do it from time to time so its nothing to worry about unless there are other signs of illness.
23. kukushka wrote: You have officially been bitten by the "Iwantagreyitis" and there is no cure except getting that grey!!!
24. Now this is something I know nothing about for I only have one grey but I bet Tracy, aka Lovemygreys, will have some insight into as she has 4 of them. I would tend to agree Pat that caged together they will bond more with each other and not be so bonded to their owner:blink:
