I pretty much agree with what Linda had to say, he could remain in the cage for a week if no one wants to take the chance of letting him out but it is important that he have some attention during this time. So find someone to do that and he should be fine. Have a safe and happy holiday and he will be so glad to see you when you get home.

That one does a very good opera but glad Josey does not listen to that, thanks Steph for sharing that with us.

Black capped chickadee A baby duck is called a duckling, what is a baby goose called?
-
That is exactly like Josey's cage but hers does not have the slide out divider section so therefore she only has one big door but yes I think it is a good deal. Josey's was cheaper but I got it at a bird fair but I have looked online and saw them for more than what this one of yours costs. I like the style of this cage with the playtop on one side that does not go so high up but Josey still climbs up on the toy hook to perch, its the highest point.

As far as the eggs you can also scramble them and include the shell, just crush it up a bit. I wouldn't give your grey a whole hard boiled egg as that would be too much at one time. I take butternut squash and cut it in half and then drizzle a little olive oil on it and bake it in the oven until tender, how long depends on how big the squash is.

Some people are just like that so don't take it personally, I think if you know in your heart that you really want one and you find out all you can before you make that final decision then you need not question your ability to take care of a grey. The questions you have for us post them in the appropriate room as we have many rooms, for instance if it is about foods post it in the bird food room and so on.

{Emotions-00020120} Thanks Dan, you are too much!!!

Lets hope this positive energy here waiting for you will continue and you get good news soon but in the meantime continue with what you are doing and I will keep you and your grey in my thoughts and prayers.

As the weaning time varies with greys, some wean at 12 to 14 weeks and some not until 16 to 18 weeks it is best to wait until it is fully weaned and not set a definite time frame on bringing it home. Only the breeder will know when that time is and I feel like Char about the breeder allowing you to bring it home at 4 weeks is irresponsible on their part.

Thanks for letting us know and I am proud of you for hanging in there with Noodles, I can't imagine what you have been going thru the last couple of months not knowing but you have your healthy bird now and don't be a stranger now that the results are in, come join in the posting and sharing of fun with your birdie friends here on the forum.

Well congrats on getting your grey earlier than expected, thats always a welcome bonus but like Dan said, ask for 3 working days to get the baby vet checked as that is only fair. Hope to see pictures when you get him home.

Your friend should come over and get more acquainted if they haven't already with your fids so the stress of someone else coming in to take care of their needs is diminished. You can provide them with some new toys and some foraging opportunities to keep them busy so they do not get lonely, maybe leave a radio on during the day to keep them company. When you get back from your trip why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us some more about you and your fids.

Hello Cf737 and welcome to the family, so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your quest to own a grey. Yes this will be a lifetime committment as a grey can live for 50+ years and you need to be absolutely sure this is what you want before you go out there and purchase it. You are doing the right thing in asking questions and getting as much info so you can make an informed decision. Greys are known for bonding with just one person but there are a lot of members who have greys that get along with many family members. The relationships with multiple people may be different for each one but if you and your mom take an active role in the every day life and caring for your grey then of course it can work out nicely. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so read thru them at your leisure and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.

You have come to the right place looking for good advice and yes we like to have a little fun too, all work and no play makes for a dull time plus you will make lots of new friends here. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Frodo you would like to share with us we would love to see them.

Hello Anthea and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Harry. Since Harry is 2 years old is he a rehomed or rescued grey? Where has he been the last 2 years of his life? You did come to the right place looking for advice as we have many knowledgeable members here who are willing to share what they know with the rest of us, we are very fortunate to have them here among us. Do read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions if you have any and we will help you in any way we can. We would love to see some pictures of Harry when you can manage to get some to share with us.

Seems like everyone has had some kind of illness this winter as that is all I hear and I have had some kind of crap myself, hope everyone gets over it quickly. I just started my weekend but I have the company of my grandson until Sunday so there goes my sleeping in but I enjoy having him around and the birdies like him better than they do the grandgirls:whistle:

Hi...need help w/feather biting,PLZ
judygram replied to SarahsFlock's topic in Welcome & Introduction Room
Thanks for letting us know how the vet visit with Sarah went and I hope you do get to the root of the problem, I would be interested in how the Rescue Remedy works, I have not heard of it before either. -
Congrats Steph, its a girl!!!

Most will be more vocal when on the playstand versus being on your shoulder so that is good and yes you have to spread yourself a little thinner now that you have another bird on the way.
-
So you are an all around animal lover, just like the majority of us and soon to be nuts over greys, you see we are a separate breed here as no one understands us any better than someone else who feels the same way about their birds. This grey will not be your first parrot as that conure you had when you were a teenager is actually a parrot.
-
That is a nice bunch of greys in that picture you shared and I would be tempted to want to bring them all home with me too if I was having to chose one from them. Do see if one will come to you right from the start and if so then that is the one to take. You will think 15 days will never be over but it will very soon so have a safe journey to get your baby and I can't wait to see some pics when your bring him/her home.

Hello Gary and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey baby. I know you are so excited about this new Cag and you should be, this is the beginning of a long and lasting relationship that should bring you much happiness. Is this your first grey or first parrot? Do you have any other pets in your household? Please continue to read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Thanks for sharing a pic of your new baby, it is adorable but then I have never seen one that wasn't.

And Dan feels like that right now I bet!!
