  1. Malaki is a beautiful grey and you take very nice clear pictures thanks for sharing him with us.
  2. Hello Jake and welcome to the family, so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Ella. You are so right, a reputable breeder should not have sold you an unweaned bird for as you have found out from reading this forum that there are a lot of things that can go wrong but we do have some threads, especially in the nursery room that you definitely should read thoroughly. It does seem you are offering her the other foods she needs to be eating right now and will need to replace the formula when the handfeeding is over. Continue to read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Ella you would share with us we would love to see her.
  3. Happy Hatchday Emma, may you have many, many more!B)
  4. I hear you Leanne loud and clear and support you 110% I hope you find her, I will pray that you find her.
  5. Look at those precious little babies, how adorable, thanks for sharing them with us.
  6. Hello Lainee and welcome to the family, so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Roxie. How old is Roxie? You have had here since December but did you get her as a baby grey or is she a rehome or a rescue grey? Is this your first grey or parrot? Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We would love to see a picture or two of Roxie if you would share them with us.
  7. OMG Leanne, I am sorry this has happened and I wish you had not found the owner now, you must be devastated and so angry too. I would want to rip them a new crack if you get my drift. How can people be so stupid. I hope you are able to find him again and if that comes to pass please hold on to him with dear life, those people don't deserve another chance. My heart goes out to you Leanne and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that he comes into your life once again. MAD, I am so mad:angry:
  8. I am not real sure but that probably sounds right, I wouldn't be too concerned, keep us updated on it though.
  9. Malaki is a good looking one from your avatar but then maybe I already said that, duh but it bears repeating, very lovely.
  10. If Joey is higher up yes he does feel more superior and will act accordingly, that is why a grey on the floor will more likely step up just about any time and a bird high up on a shoulder or higher is difficult to work with. Also realize the honeymoon phase might be over when he was more willing to do what you wanted but now he feels more comfortable and is asserting more of his independence. You do need to practice more patience because working with a grey will take a lot of time and progress will be made in small steps so don't rush it, take your time and things will go more smoothly. Face it, at some point in time you will get bit, just make sure it is not your face, nose, ears or eyes that get the bite but your hand and if you see a bite is coming you can make your hand into a fist, it will be harder for Joey to get ahold of your skin. My Josey has yet to bite me but I know the day will come she will, I will take it but I will pay attention to what led up to it and do my best to prevent any further biting.

She may not Dave, my Josey does not care for almonds either and I give her the shelled ones, just because most do love them doesn't mean all will, just like we all have our favorite foods and things we don't like.
  17. So Tuki is a boy, congrats Melissa:P
  18. Nice cage Jacqueline and all ready for your bird.
  19. I'm not sure Eve but that sounds like a lot of supplements to be giving your grey, we need an expert's opinion about this. Did you ask your vet about giving all those items?
  20. Thanks for letting us know that Whisper's blood work is normal and of course you have a wonderful looking grey, don't we all!!
  21. Way to go girl, glad to hear he is saving her for you. B)
  22. Well don't wait too long as we have seen them snatched up pretty quickly, why don't you see if they will take a down payment to hold her until you can get the rest of the money to get her home and good luck. Keep us informed.
  23. Thanks Rana for giving this older bird a new home, with time he will settle in and I look forward to hearing some stories about him.
  24. You can start her on a pellet diet now, just provide a cup with pellets in it at all times, thats what I do for my grey and she snacks on them all day long. Your being able to handle her is going to depend on your fear of her beak, she can sense you are afraid of her and she acts accordingly, work on that and I think you will have it made with her.
  25. Jason, for places to go and things to see just google Miami and see what you come up with, I have never been there but there should be a ton of stuff as it is a big city. Thanks Caitlin for your help;)
