  1. Now that's a scary thought! If he is hungry then feed him his handfeedings, its called abundance feeding and he will let you know when he is ready to stop them, sounds like you are doing well with each other and I can't wait to see the video of him when you get it straightened out so we can view it.
  2. You DO have your hands full but hey you will never be lonely or bored, congrats on taking Cotay in and it seems he finally has someone to pay attention to him now so he is making up for lost time, at least if he is chattering all the time you will know where he is, a good locator beacon. Let us know how the adventure to the outside aviary goes today.
  3. Thanks for updating us on Dali, glad he got his beak all worked out and he is back to eating his pellets again, its always scary when these things happen but it looks like you both came thru with flying colors.
  4. It looks like the quarantine needs to happen in Honolulu and that all animals must come in thru that airport.
  5. He is such a good boy Dee, thanks for sharing that little bit of him with us.
  6. Here is one source I found but don't know how much help it will be: http://hdoa.hawaii.gov/ai/ldc/importing-livestock/birds-and-poultry/
  7. Hawaii is strict about bringing animals into the state as they are an island and have certain criteria you must follow and quarantine times but just do a google or bing search to find their website to find out the requirements and do this months in advance of moving. I have cousins who used to live in Hawaii and they took their dog with them, only thing the dog had to be quarantined for 3 months in Honolulu and they lived on Kauai, that was to be sure he was free from rabies.
  8. I hope to hear some good news about Dali when you get back from the vets.
  9. Keep positive that Kiki will be found but Sunny will adjust no matter what.
  10. Its always so wonderful when you find a good vet who seems to care and someone you can trust as many of us have not found that to be the case since avian vets are scarce especially in the more rural areas. Its also good to hear that Sukei is healthy and doing well, that speaks highly of you for you have taken good care of him/her. I have no doubt that when you leave Kuwait it will not be alone, Sukei is coming too one way or the other, you don't break up a couple.
  11. Whenever someone posts about a possible plucking problem the first thing we advise is to have your baby checked out by an avian vet to rule out anything physical as many times it is just that so do that as soon as possible and then give us an update.
  12. Its funny how a particular animal can be revered as companion pets in many countries but looked at as pests in others but it happens.
  13. That's pretty much the way Josey takes her bath, sitting there enduring it while it lasts.
  14. No I did not Ray and I don't think conures have one either for when I bathe Sunny she gets very wet.
  15. What a handsome fella he is, thanks for sharing a picture of Milo with us.
  16. Happy Hatchday Ana Grey, you are growing up so fast and I know mommy was very good to you today as she is everyday, may you have many many more yet to come.
  17. I know Josey my grey is female but the other two are just guesses but I think all three are female, Josey is a good talker but the other two do not talk at all or whistle.
  18. This is so cute I just had to share, enjoy. http://now.msn.com/lovebird-dances-to-polka-music-in-viral-video?gt1=50501
  19. Its never easy losing a loved one but sadly its a fate we all must face one day, be grateful for the time you had with her and cherish the wonderful memories, it does get easier with time.
  20. What a sweet looking amazon Echo is, he is an absolute doll even if he is a guy, handsome just doesn't quite cut it, you are going to have a wonderful time with this baby, thanks for sharing a few pictures of him with us.
  21. Beth, I already answered your quarantine question in the other thread but congrats on your new addition and pictures please.
  22. Well since you have already put them in the same room its a moot point now to quarantine but if this baby was given a clean bill of health from the breeder then he should be just fine. Quarantine is usually recommended when someone brings a rehome or rescued bird in when they already have birds, you don't know what they may have been exposed to or might carry. I would love to see some pictures of Echo if you would indulge us.
  23. Thane is adorable and he does look like a real sweetheart, thanks for sharing the pictures with us. Josey does better with showers also.
  24. Thanks for the update on Romeo and he will continue to settle into his new home and adjust to the routine but it sounds like he is doing just fine, keep up the good work.
  25. The others have all given good advice, keep things as normal as possible and Brutus will do fine, it is probably best he doesn't see him in the future as it will only send the wrong message that he is returning to the home. Sorry about the divorce but it seems to be a lot of that going around.
