Now that's a scary thought!
If he is hungry then feed him his handfeedings, its called abundance feeding and he will let you know when he is ready to stop them, sounds like you are doing well with each other and I can't wait to see the video of him when you get it straightened out so we can view it.
You DO have your hands full but hey you will never be lonely or bored, congrats on taking Cotay in and it seems he finally has someone to pay attention to him now so he is making up for lost time, at least if he is chattering all the time you will know where he is, a good locator beacon.
Let us know how the adventure to the outside aviary goes today.
Thanks for updating us on Dali, glad he got his beak all worked out and he is back to eating his pellets again, its always scary when these things happen but it looks like you both came thru with flying colors.
Hawaii is strict about bringing animals into the state as they are an island and have certain criteria you must follow and quarantine times but just do a google or bing search to find their website to find out the requirements and do this months in advance of moving. I have cousins who used to live in Hawaii and they took their dog with them, only thing the dog had to be quarantined for 3 months in Honolulu and they lived on Kauai, that was to be sure he was free from rabies.
Its always so wonderful when you find a good vet who seems to care and someone you can trust as many of us have not found that to be the case since avian vets are scarce especially in the more rural areas. Its also good to hear that Sukei is healthy and doing well, that speaks highly of you for you have taken good care of him/her.
I have no doubt that when you leave Kuwait it will not be alone, Sukei is coming too one way or the other, you don't break up a couple.
Whenever someone posts about a possible plucking problem the first thing we advise is to have your baby checked out by an avian vet to rule out anything physical as many times it is just that so do that as soon as possible and then give us an update.
Happy Hatchday Ana Grey, you are growing up so fast and I know mommy was very good to you today as she is everyday, may you have many many more yet to come.
I know Josey my grey is female but the other two are just guesses but I think all three are female, Josey is a good talker but the other two do not talk at all or whistle.
Its never easy losing a loved one but sadly its a fate we all must face one day, be grateful for the time you had with her and cherish the wonderful memories, it does get easier with time.
What a sweet looking amazon Echo is, he is an absolute doll even if he is a guy, handsome just doesn't quite cut it, you are going to have a wonderful time with this baby, thanks for sharing a few pictures of him with us.
Well since you have already put them in the same room its a moot point now to quarantine but if this baby was given a clean bill of health from the breeder then he should be just fine. Quarantine is usually recommended when someone brings a rehome or rescued bird in when they already have birds, you don't know what they may have been exposed to or might carry. I would love to see some pictures of Echo if you would indulge us.
Thanks for the update on Romeo and he will continue to settle into his new home and adjust to the routine but it sounds like he is doing just fine, keep up the good work.
The others have all given good advice, keep things as normal as possible and Brutus will do fine, it is probably best he doesn't see him in the future as it will only send the wrong message that he is returning to the home. Sorry about the divorce but it seems to be a lot of that going around.
