  1. I love to hear about other's greys who love to shower or get into water, Josey only tolerates it but she does get a shower twice a week. She does try to bathe in her water bowl in her cage but she only manages to get the nearby area wet and not herself.
  2. That first picture of Cleo is stunning, suitable for hanging but the others are good too, you have a beautiful grey, thanks for sharing them with us. Nice looking dog.
  3. The important thing is now you know we are here and you can ask for help anytime you need us as there is usually someone on at any time of the day or night. I hope you are having a greyt weekend too, now get that bird some new toys.
  4. That is a really good idea, so simple but doable, thanks for sharing that with us.
  5. I will venture a guess that Ash is a she, just guessing here. I chose to not have Josey's band put on in the first place as I have heard a lot of stories of having to have them cut off later, I have it if I ever need it. Glad she took the procedure so well and is back to normal and yes I can imagine you love her so much.
  6. I can see how you can get too paranoid about things, your kids and your fids are utmost important and we can get over protective of them. You may have to venture further out to find a good vet, I have to travel some for mine, good ones are hard to come by but I do what I have to for them. You are never too old to learn and we will get you straightened out on posting pictures if you want to learn how. Hope you have a blessed Easter as well.
  7. Having that blood workup was the smart thing to do and I hope it comes back that all is well. I don't know where you live but we get aloe vera juice at walmart here in the USA, it comes in a gallon container and can usually be found in the pharmacy department.
  8. I have Josey on Harrison's fine and she does not waste much of them, she eats them over her bowl and I do not see much if any on the bottom tray of her cage, guess I am just lucky with her, hope I haven't jinxed it by bragging about it. :pinch:
  9. I have not noticed a bulge in Josey's crop even after eating, you may need to consult another vet about that if you are doubting the one you are seeing now. I'm so glad to hear you have been successful in transitioning Sherlock to a more nutritious diet, he will be healthier for it. Please let us know what you find out about this latest development.
  10. That was very entertaining, loved that dog bark, thanks for sharing that with us Char.
  11. That is a precious picture of Shady trying his best to be as close to mommy as he can and he is feathering up nicely too, thanks for sharing that with us Pat.

    Which Bird!?

Yes that matters more, what kind of bird fits in with what you already have and what kind of personality would be a good fit for you. Good luck and let us know what you decide to choose.
  13. I have fed my birds a little fish but never salmon or tuna as we hardly ever have it ourselves but it is nice to know we can share some if we do have it, thanks MrsB for that information.
  14. Aww thats too bad because we wanted to see them but I guess we will just have to settle for the one in your avatar.
  15. Greys are chewers and some more so than others, you will have to provide him with plenty of things to chew on so he gets that need satisfied. If he likes to chew on wood things just get an untreated 2x4 and cut into small sections and drill a hole in the middle to hang up in his cage or wherever he plays for him to chew to his heart's content.
  16. Admin or the mod of the room it is in has to delete post or whole threads so don't worry about it. Did you read the section in FAQ about posting pics on the site?
  17. We certainly do Carol and I take all I can get, thanks, hope you are having a wonderful Easter with your family.
  18. Thanks for letting us know what kind of response you got from the contact info provided here, some members got about the same or somewhat different, I guess it depends on who actually answered the request. I never tried the numbers but I may just give it a shot to see if I get the same or different.
  19. Shady is really growing up, too fast I'm sure, but it was bound to happen but you have loved it every minute and will cherish these moments always. You have been such a good sport about keeping us informed of every thing that has happened in Shady's new beginning and hope you continue to keep us updated, especially with pics as we have enjoyed seeing him grow and flourish under your loving care. When will we see your updated signature with the addition of Shady?
  20. Thanks for sharing that site with us Carol, there is some cute stuff on there, loved the grey one where she tells the kitten to "step away from the cage"
  21. Well congrats on getting a caique, they are wonderful birds, I met one at the bird convention I went to a couple of weeks ago, very active and clownish birds, if I was to get me another bird I might consider a caique or maybe a ringneck parakeet.
  22. Hello JillyBeanz and welcome to the family, so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Harvey. You are so right, they aren't for anyone who has to have their house clean and tidy at all times for with a grey in the house it is anything but clean but we wouldn't have it any other way. They do have an endearing quality that gets into the heart strings and then we put up with most anything for we love them so much and spoil them. Is Harvey the only fid you have in your house or there any others contributing to the mess? Most of us have more than one bird and some of us have more than one grey, I have a sun conure along with my Cag. You will learn lots of useful information by reading thru our many threads and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We just love pictures here so if you have some of Harvey and would share them please do.
  23. Hello MrsB and welcome to the family, so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Mesa. You are one of the lucky ones to be able to stay at home with your grey, most of us aren't for it takes both of us to make ends meet and pay the bills but we do make what time we spend quality time. Do you have any other birds or parrots, how about any other pets? You will learn lots from reading thru our many threads, we have many topics and we cover all kinds of subjects, some of it you may already know and some may be new to you but it will be useful to you in any case. We have many knowledgeable members who have had greys for many, many years and have a wealth of knowledge, if you have a question all you have to do is ask and we will help you in any way we can. We love pictures here if you hadn't already noticed so if you have some of Mesa and would share some that would be great.
  24. Thats a cute picture of the three quakers and I bet they can be quite a trio when vocal time comes but they look so innocent sitting there. Tequila is a good and healthy looking grey, I am sure her former owner loved her very much which only contributed to her disposition, you are very lucky to have found her. Thanks for sharing those pics with us.
  25. Congrats on bringing home Shaka Zulu, you are in for a lifetime treat.
