The first thing is to take him to see an avian vet if he hasn't already to rule out any physical problem and if he is healthy then it is due to stress.
Sometimes they need things to do to keep them busy and maybe pluck less. Provide him with some foraging type toys where you can put treats for him to work for. Do check thru the toys and playstands room for foraging ideas for things you can make from common household items that will keep him busy when he is in his cage.
All too familiar poses for our greys, they love to hang upside down and twist themselves into some contorted shapes, these are some greyt pics of your grey, thanks for sharing them with us.
Dreams, but really nightmares, can seem so real until you wake up and then you count your lucky stars that it wasn't real and then we all heave a sigh of relief:huh:
Well that certainly looks promising, they just need a little time to adjust to the changes, from the picture I would say they are going to get along fairly well, maybe even better than expected. You have two beautiful greys.
All perfectly normal Stefani and you are doing just fine, btw I didn't congradulate you on getting your new baby, now when are we gonna see some pictures of this sweet little bird.
That was so cute, those birds were amazing and like Dan I followed the dunks by species and they were all correct, I loved it, thanks so much Debbie for sharing the link with us.
Well how about that Julie, you never know until you try and you did, good for you, they may have to remain a safe distance from each other but they can be out at the same time, supervised of course.
Thanks for sharing the pictures with us Julie.
It does take a while before a baby grey or any grey for that matter to settle into a new home, everything is new to him even you so give him some space right now and let him get comfortable. Most baby greys need to feel comfortable before they welcome cuddling so be patient.
You can wait for your schedule to settle into more of a routine or you can make time if you really want a grey. I work full time but I am into a pretty much set routine but that could change at any time. We never know when life takes a turn or something happens that we have a different situation so there may never be a "perfect time" to get that grey. Sometimes if we wait for the perfect time it never comes for there is always things that happen that make it difficult to get what we want.
Tanya, I am not exactly sure what you are talking about but Josey does a head shake sometimes that I guess you could describe it as shaking no but its more like she is trying to get loose a downey feather up her nares or in her face.

I thought that every bird owner knew of the preening gland, it is located on the back at the base of the tail and when you see your grey vigorously rub their beak back there they are getting some of that oil on their beak and they distribute it over their feathers as they are preening, makes them waterproof, thats why water rolls off their feathers.
Yeah their tough luck, well I haven't left work yet but you just wait, I have the grandson this evening but when he goes to be watch out, gramdma gonna play.
Hey, hey hey, its party time, Friday afternoon, I am ready for meeting, now where is everyone else, huh, its awful lonely here all by myself!

He could be molting but my grey when she molts she nevr looks like she has feathers missing, thats why I said what I did but if he should be plucking you will find out soon enough, just keep an eye on it.
