1. Mocha is very confident looking, he knows he has the upper hand and Koko is coming to respect that, what great shots and commentary.
2. She really is very lovely and so sweet looking, I hope you two have a very long and blessed life together, thanks for sharing that picture with us.

training

She is probably balancing herself better when she gets over on your wrist, there is more to get hold of, at four months old she is still learning to steady herself and they are sometimes a little clumsy at this age. If you don't want her going to your shoulder then you will just have to keep stopping her by switching arms back and forth, she will soon learn she is not allowed up there. I see this is your first post, why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us some more about you and this grey like what is her name.
4. Teaka sure is a sweetheart, she looks very lovely sitting there on her cage door, thanks for sharing a picture of her with us.
5. I don't have any experience with previously owned birds but do you know any of the history of his former home? Maybe they can shed some light on why he seems to be afraid of hands. In the meantime give him some more time to settle in, he needs to learn to trust you and it takes longer with rehomed birds so be patient. Hopefully some of the members who have taken in rehomed birds will give you some insight into how you can best accomplish getting him over this bump in the road.
6. I didn't watch it either Jill, I have seen my own cat kill and eat birds, I didn't like it but it happens all the time in nature but I just choose to not watch what idiots film and share with other idiots.:angry:
7. Does he have any idea what is wrong with Macey? I hope she is going to be ok but you did the right thing, please keep us informed.
8. Wish Elaine a very Happy Birthday for me will ya Bernie and that sounds like a fun weekend you have planned for her, hope it is everything she could desire, looking forward to seeing some pictures.
9. Greyt pictures Caitlin, yes I recognize that stance for a neck rub all too well, and congrats on the potty training. Loved the videos, she is an accomplished flyer, thanks for sharing them.

Post edited by: judygram, at: 2009/09/11 18:38
10. Teaka wrote: You know why, people go into pet stores and places with birds and see how cute and adorable they are and they buy them on a whim without thinking what they need and how to take care of them. All they see is a pretty bird that talks and entertains plain and simple. I am so pleased that Teaka has found a new forever home and you will be so blessed for it.
11. I am here ready to party early, I will have many drinks as fast as I can gulp them, got a big weekend coming up and time to celebrate.
12. Funny you should say that Caitlin, Jill said the same thing a few posts earlier, I must say it did kind of resemble one of those stuffed animals.
13. Greyt update on Chikki, soon you will be able to just use the seeds as treats for tricks well done, thanks for updating us on him.
14. Me too Bernie, time for a stiff one, besides its Friday and I got a big weekend coming up, gotta celebrate. {Communicate-000200D5}
15. Great pictures Sanggay, that Mocha is one stout bird, he don't take any crap off Koko and after Koko defended him the other day from the dog he should be more grateful, thanks for sharing these pics with us, loved them.
16. That doesn't sound right, you have taken Macey to the vet and he can't help, what kind of vet is he, must not be an avian vet but this bird needs to be seen ASAP. Birds being small creatures are usually sick a while before they show it and time is of the essence here, get help now before you lose her. I will keep you and Macey in my thoughts and prayers that she will be ok.
17. My Josey loves banging on her bell, she will grab hold of the chain it is hanging from and give it a go just so it will bang around and make noise, its just a grey being a grey, love it.
18. Hello Teaka and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new to you grey. I am so pleased you could give this bird a new home, how awful to be closed up in a room with no human contact, she must be starved for some love and attention, so glad you are providing her with that. Please do read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We love pictures here so if you have some of her you would share with us we would appreciate it. BTW, what is her name?
19. Yes today will always be remembered for the obvious reason but it has special meaning for me as it is the day my youngest granddaughter was born. She celebrates her third birthday today, so even though I am sad about the people who died and were affected by the tragedy I have a beautiful granddaughter to be thankful for.
20. The wolf whistle was one of the first things that Josey mastered and she eventually talked, people who say if you teach them to whistle they won't talk don't know too much about the greys as they thought they did.
21. Well good for you Howardine I am proud of you, I have fallen off the wagon but I aim to get back on.
22. He sure does Steve, he has himself down to a "T" Thanks for sharing that with us. {Feel-good-0002006E}
23. Ha Ha, thats why I never carry my phone in my back pocket, I don't do butt dialing, thanks Dan for the laugh.:laugh: :lol:
