1. Another greyt toy Carol, you sure do have the talent, you might as well give it a go and ebay would be the place to start selling these toys of yours, who knows you might have to hire all kinds of help to make them available to supply the demand. Thanks for sharing them with us and you do look good Carol if I must say so, gives me encouragment.
2. Yes that was kind of dark, maybe if you had turned the chair the other way with the window behind you it would have been brighter but you can see how he reacts to you. I could see him gurging for you, he is a sweet bird and you are having the time of your life with him, thanks for sharing it with us Pat.
3. I always enjoy watching videos of Emma, she is so entertaining and quite the character, Adina has a gem of a grey, thanks for sharing another greyt video with us.
4. That bird is amazing Dan, it does very convincing camera, car alarm and chain saw mimics not to mention the imitations of other song birds, I love the tail on this bird, very lovely, thanks for sharing this with us.
5. Generally speaking greys are quiet birds and if you are going to be living in apartments then you might want to reconsider getting a too or a macaw for they can be loud. My Josey is very quiet compared to most other birds, even my conure can be louder when she does her scream. I think you need to decide what qualities you are looking for, ability to talk, cuddliness, comical or whatever and go from there but whatever you decide be sure to research it thoroughly so you will know what you are getting into as we hate to see someone get a bird and then decide its not for them and rehome it. A bird is a lifetime committment, once you bring it into your home it becomes a part of your family and most of us here would no sooner part with it than we would a human member.
6. Congrats Pat on your new granddaughter, Meadow, she is a beautiful baby and I love that thick head of hair, you have two adorable granddaughters, thanks for sharing the pictures with us proud grandma.
7. No, as you can see from others pictures they can be larger than that but these are fine, you can see more detail in the second posting.
8. OMG Jen, I can't believe she would be so impatient and so stupid as to put it on him and leave him in his cage and she has had this bird for 25 years, what an idiot. I think you did the right thing in sharing it, who knows how many others out there would end up doing the same thing.

Post edited by: Dave007, at: 2009/09/07 05:14
9. They are very cuddly and people refer to them as being "velcro birds" because that is how they want to be attached to you all the time. Yes they can be very loud especially if they feel they don't get the attention they want. I don't think mytoo is exaggerated, they are telling it like it is, toos are not for everyone and I think the site is just trying to point that out for those who would like to have one but don't know that much about them to realize what they are getting into if they go ahead and purchase a too. Now maybe Nicky loves them enough to take the possible screaming and such that may go along with the cuddliness but she should think long and hard before committing to getting one.
10. Cockatoos tend to be very needy and they don't call them velcro birds for nothing.
11. Yes he will for they tend to go to the highest spot. Maybe you could size the pictures a little larger for better enjoyment, just a suggestion.
12. OMG what a sad story, poor little kitten never had a chance to have a loving home and family, I would have been right there bawling my eyes out, I do love cats and would have given that little one a home. So sad, so so sad but at least the mystery of how Chimay learned to meow like a cat is solved, thanks for sharing it with us, tissue anyone.
13. Yeah Lee, you finally got it, looks like a great playstand, and who knows he may help you root for the Magic, time will tell, thanks for sharing a pic with us.
14. Now that you mention it yes I do remember seeing that recipe in the bird food room, thanks Adina for the reminder and the link. Karma for you.
15. Those sure are some great looking birds and yes it is hard to walk away from them, thanks for sharing them with us.
16. He is so precious looking, absolutely adorable, no wonder you are so proud of him. He will get his landings down perfect soon, he is doing just fine and will be showing you what he can really do in no time. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us.
17. I have heard of it before but I want to hear more about what you put into this mash mix, would you mind putting the recipe in the bird food room and tell us how you made it? I have made mash from premixed packages but never one from the individual ingredients.
18. My sun conure uses one of those tent shaped huts to sleep in but I have not provided one for Josey, I doubt she would use it, she prefers to sleep on top of her boing but there is no harm in trying, Squonk might just like it.
19. Robin, your baby is adorable, you are right Sephora will be more confident because she has all her flights, congrats on bringing her home. Thanks for sharing some pictures eith us and be sure to post more as you take them, we want to see how she develops.
20. I don't really know as I have only purchased the fine but what you are purchasing must be pretty good size if you can cut them in half. I would say they are about the size of barley seeds or buckwheat. You can go to their website and compare the sizes I am pretty sure.
21. You underestimate the ability of their taking flight even though they are clipped for they can gain height with the breezes they encounter outside and not available inside. Many birds have flown away when their owners thought that because they were clipped they were not capable of flight but they can go far with the aid of the wind. Ok, sermon is over, I just wanted you to be aware that clipped birds especially only clipping 4 feathers that the bird can gain height and fly away if outside.
22. Thanks Lyn for sharing that video with us, Alf is just chatting away there on the top of the door, and do share more with us now that you know how.
23. lovethatgrey wrote: This is why I buy the fine pellets, Josey wastes very little of them and then you wouldn't have to cut them in half. I think cutting their veggies in smaller pieces does cut down on waste but sometimes they enjoy having a piece that they can hold onto with their foot to eat from so determine which ones they like to eat that way and finely chop the rest.
24. Domingo should have never been outside without being on a harness with a leash or in a travel carrier, this is what happens. I hope you find him but please look thru several of the threads in the rescue room for ideas and suggestions on how best to recover a lost bird, we have had other birds found by doing all you can to find him, good luck to you. If you do find him please come back and let us know so we don't continue to worry about him.
25. Thats what I do Jill, Josey has her bowl for pellets that I keep some in at all times for she will snack on them all day long. I have separate bowls for seed, nuts and other dry type foods and another bowl for veggies and other wet type foods. I have never mixed her pellets with anything else, they do get soggy if you put any type of wet food with them and then they go sour. Her cage came with 3 bowls, I use one for water, one for her seeds and nut mix and one for veggies and such. I had to add another bowl for pellets and I keep that bowl with some pellets in it 24/7.
