  1. I'm right here Penny:blush:
  2. Ok this is my 20000th post, I wanted to make it the one where I get to say a few things about this forum. I have been here over 2 years now and have loved every minute of it along with the wonderful members who I chat with and hopefully give some good advice to. This forum is only the 2nd forum I have belonged to but it is the best by far. I have made some special friends here that share a common bond with and that is our greys. I feel a part of a unique group of people who care about their birds and each other, you don't find that on most forums, there are members here who I could count on for help if I needed it and they know they can count on me, I feel so blessed to have found this forum, we are so lucky to be a part of a greyt family. Now on to 100,000 wonder when that will be, hmmmmm!!
  3. Rhonnie has given you some good advice Spence, hang in there for a while and see what happens, I would hate for you to give her up only to regret it later, it may just be a phase she is going thru.
  4. Which happens to be my time too, thanks Penny for clarifying that for us, won't be long now.
  5. It should and as soon as it dries it should be ok for I know it is getting cold in Illinois right about now, please let us know how it turns out.
  6. Now that is a dilemma isn't it, maybe Penny should have said which time zone we are going with, here it is still the 14th but the forum has already gone to the 15th, clarification please.

  8. Josey has a "soft mouth" as it would be called in a labrador retriever that duck hunters use to retrieve their game from the pond or river. You don't want them to clamp down very hard on the bird, just enough pressure to hold it without further damaging the downed bird, thats how Josey has beaked me, never any blood and very little pressure.
  9. Aw come on Deb, they know you fart by now:whistle: :woohoo: {Feel-good-0002006E}
  10. It might take more than a couple of hours to have a good read of the forums, there are a load of threads here and full of helpful advice. Greys do need some time every day out of their cage and some one on one time for interaction, they are a flock animal and like to be a part of what goes on in the household so make sure you can give that before you make the final committment for it is for a lifetime.
  11. Lyn that is a very touching song with those lyrics and who doesn't love Dolly Parton, I've been told I sound like her, not my singing but my voice.
  12. Now that is funny, better the tinkling than a plop:blush: they are so hilarious but Josey does other bodily sounds like passing gas and burping, you just never know when they are going to embarrass you to death, thanks for sharing that with us and karma for you for making me laugh.
  13. Greyt pictures of Biscotti, he is one handsome grey and my favorite one is the one upside down playing dead, what a ham he is, thanks for sharing the pictures with us and it seems like he is a sweetheart of a grey.
  14. Lets hope Cracker is found safe and sound, please everyone be careful of open doors and windows, they depend on us to keep them safe.
  15. Ceasar just needed the right person to bring out the best in him/her and you are doing a wonderful job, he/she will be flying soon with your encouragement.
  16. I was wondering the same thing Lyn.
  17. You are way off Dave, I will be well on my way to another 100 by then, heh heh heh:laugh:
  18. Robin is right, you pretty much have to ignore the loud noises for when you share your home with a bird or birds you have to be able to put up with some noise, some birds are louder than others but usually greys are some of the quieter birds. I don't know how old your grey is but she might just be going thru a phase right now, some do and they can be quite annoying but it usually subsides with a little time. Why don't you give it some time and see if it gets any better.
  19. Thanks Dave for your input on this grey, I knew you would be one of the best ones if not THE best one for advice for Mythologick.
  20. Poor Beau, he had quite an ordeal today but hopefully it will work in the long run so I have my fingers crossed it does. Dr. Jose seems like a wonderful avian vet, wish they were all like him, it sounds like the money spent was all worth it. Beau is a trooper to endure what he did today and still be lovey with you, keep us informed how he gets along and take good care of him.
  21. Just kidding, just kidding she says, well it looks to me like Ecko IS driving, who are you trying to kid here, certainly not that cop that stopped you right after this pic was taken!!
  22. Thanks for having the heart to take in this grey, I think he needs you right now as much as you have needed him and with some time and lots of patience you can make great strides with him. No he is never too old to learn, probably no one has had him step up in so long he has forgotten but he can learn again. That is so sad he didn't get any attention for so long, they do require some time every day out of their cage and interaction with their human members of the flock. We have some members here who have dealt with greys like him before, hopefully some of them will chime in with their advice and suggestions for you, in the meantime read thru as many of the threads as you can for lots of useful information.

  24. Lets see it could be today, hmmmmmmmmm:whistle:
  25. Gosh Bernie you sound a little excited maybe!!
