  1. Poor Charlie for having night frights and poor Caroline for losing sleep because of it but no my Josey has never had a night fright but I can understand how nerve wracking it can be for you both. I don't know what else you can do besides what you have done already to keep him from having them, I guess some greys are just prone to them. Maybe some of the other members will have some suggestions for you.
  2. Greyt update and glad to hear Ollie is settling in nicely, thanks for sharing the pictures, a sleeping grey is always a treat.

  4. Very nice Sanggay, Koko did real well in the second one, thanks for sharing those with us.
  5. I allow both of my birds on my shoulder, my conure stays on my shoulder whenever she is out of her cage and Josey spends maybe half an hour a day there. She behaves herself and comes down when I ask her to so she has those shoulder priviledges until a time comes that I have to take it away from her.
  6. Greys do tend to pick a favorite and Junior has picked your husband, now this doesn't mean you and the rest of your family can't be friends with him, it just means it may be different from the one he has with your husband. He trusts your husband and will allow him to get him from the cage and he won't step up for you from the cage, you may have to accept this until a time that he may allow you to do it. Continue to work with him, you be the one to give him treats but if he doesn't want you getting him out of his cage then accept that.
  7. Hello Speakyourmind and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us after lurking around for so long and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey you want to get. Greys do not have an odor except they do smell like birds but you have to be right up against them to smell it but I like bird smell, you can really tell it if you get in a room with a lot of birds. Birds do make messes, when they eat they drop food and some throw food out they don't like. Give them something juicy like a pomegranate and they will sling it all over the place but we take that all in stride. To live with birds you have to be able to put up with some mess but it just requires you be vigilant in cleaning it up pronto. There will be feathers around especially when they are molting and greys have a fine dander you will find on furniture which may require you to dust a little more often than usual. I hope I have not put you off getting a grey but I have to be honest but if you truly want a grey then you will be willing to put up with these little inconveniences to have the companionship and love of one of these amazing creatures. I look forward to hearing what you decide to do.
  8. What a beautiful bird, Blue is aptly named, they are the most amazing color of blue, almost the color of your jacket, they are called the gentle giants but they could easily take a big chunk out of your flesh if they chose to. Thanks for sharing a picture of Blue with us.
  9. I would love to go to that superstore and one day I will, maybe get together a couple of friends and go on a spending spree of my own.
  10. I agree with Dave, I doubt you would be able to spend the time with him you would like to because lets face it you are going for training and Yoshi would not be welcome in the sessions. She will not forget you in a month's time and will probably be so glad to see you when you return that all will be forgiven.
  11. Thats a great looking cage and what a cute little fella Wayne is, they both look adorable, thanks for sharing the pictures with us.
  12. My bad Dan, that was a poor choice of words, you explained it better than I did, thanks.
  13. Better not have hit that cat Bernie!
  14. I thought that was what T-shirts were for!!
  15. Thanks for giving us an update on Red, hadn't heard from you in a while so its good to hear from you again. Congrats on rescuing another bird, a Utoo and maybe Gabby and Red will be good friends, only time will tell. Keep up the good work with Red, I know it takes lots of time but it is worth it.
  16. That is not a 75 year old man but it works for me! {Feel-good-0002006E}{Feel-good-0002006E}{Feel-good-0002006E}
  17. I see what you are doing now woman, cute signature Julie, see you can do it, I am proud of you.
  18. Ok we will try to be patient while you get things figured out.   :woohoo:
  19. It has something to do with either the breeder or date of hatch but I would seriously think about having that band removed, I chose not to have my grey banded because sometimes it causes problems.
  20. Congrats Jacky on your new grey. I think she will eventually so don't worry about it right now, maybe after she settles in she will, give her some time. Would love to see some pictures if you have any.
  21. Mika certainly is a cutie, absolutely adorable, those are precious shots and like Caroline suggested you should frame a couple of them, thanks for sharing them with us. Looks like Mika and the cat are having a standoff!
  22. Gosh I never thought a grey would try to go thru one of those cat flaps but I guess its the first time for everything, better keep that thing locked.
  23. It could be a lot of things, depends on whether you have your mind in the gutter or not, heh heh heh!!!
  24. Hello Kiolva and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us so why don't you tell us some more about yourself and if you have a grey.
