  1. Well Dee you have to take your hands off him long enough to get us a couple of pictures or there will be trouble:angry: just kidding, this is a much anticipated event for us all for we have been right there by your side thru all this and we must have pics, pleaseeeeeee!
  2. He is a cute little bugger, thanks for sharing some more pictures with us.
  3. They have their good days and a few bad days just like we do so just roll with the punches and you will do fine, sometimes you just have to give them some space but it all works out in the end.
  4. OMG Pat, I hope your fids are ok, I would think that they would have already shown ill effects if it was toxic to them but you did the right thing so don't beat yourself up, it was an accident and I pray that all will be well, let us know will you.
  5. Congrats on bringing your new to you grey home, you are on the journey of a lifetime and I am sure you are going to enjoy every minute of it. Yes she needs some time to settle in and feel comfortable for her real personality to emerge but allow her to go at her own pace and things should progress smoothly. Some greys will talk freely around their flock and some won't if they think you are listening, I am lucky that Josey talks in my presence so maybe she will too when she feels more at ease. We would love to see some pictures when you get the chance.
  6. Nilah is so pretty, you are right Penny she is a doll and it looks like you are having a wonderful time with her, she is going to be a great addition to your flock, thanks for sharing the pictures with us.
  7. Congrats Rhonnie on your new to you grey, thats great that he is a rescue and you have given him a new home, give him plenty of time to settle in and feel comfortable. Don't give up hope of finding Ceasar, he could be out there somewhere waiting for you to find him or maybe he has found a new home, in any case I hope he is safe and happy.
  8. Linkin is a cutie Rhonnie, I love the eclectus colors, such a sweet looking bird too, thanks for sharing him with us.
  9. The only thing wrong with a tiny sip or two is it turns into another and then another until they have had too much, I just never got into the habit of letting my fids have a taste of everything I eat and drink.
  10. Its normal to feel this way when the big day looms closer and closer but you will do fine, you have done your homework and you always have us to help you, all you have to do is ask. It is good to have that vet visit to make sure Juno is healthy and it does serve as a baseline in case he gets sick in the future so rest assured you are doing the right thing.
  11. Sure, when you get ready just make another thread with it all, will be interesting to see just what all you do have.

  14. I agree, they are all family and therefore it is not a chore but an act of love, it must be a happy place for all of you, don't know whether its you and Ken or the pets that are more blessed.
  15. Wow thats a lot of pets isn't it, must keep you super busy taking care of them but I bet you love every minute of it. Josey - Cag 3 years 5 months old Sunny - sun conure almost 5 years old
  16. I am glad to hear you are leaving Neo's wings unclipped, I don't think you will regret it, my grey's wings were clipped at weaning time and she still has not regained flight but in time she will.
  17. Hello Kisses and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you, Ken and Neo. We like for members to introduce yourself and tell us some about your flock so we can get to know you better and it seems you have quite a flock going on but now you are the proud owner of a grey. As I am sure you are finding out they are unlike other parrots but you can't help but love them and yours is still very much a baby at 15 weeks, I think mine was still being weaned at that age so still with the one doing the handfeeding. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads and do ask questions if you have any and we will help you in any way we can. We love pictures here so if you have some of your flock you would share with us we would love to see them.
  18. We didn't raise any sweet potatoes this year but hubby says next year for sure, I love them and so does Josey. I am going to try this recipe, Josey should dive right in as sweet potatoes is one of her favorites. Thanks Adina for sharing it with us.
  19. I am like you Jan, I am going to an avian vet who is farther away from me but he has been recommended to me so I am trying him. The present one is ok but I just don't have the confidence in him I should so I will have to make a 2 hour drive to this new one, I hope he is worth it.
  20. Ok when are we going to see some pictures of Nilah, its been several days now and I am getting impatient, pictures, pictures, pictures please!
  21. I am not sure either Jan but Josey is going to a new vet tomorrow to see about her wing feathers on one side, she is chewing them off and I suspect some of the shafts are still attached and irritating her, they may need pulling but I will wait for them to regrow for as long as it takes.
  22. JillyBeanz wrote: I can imagine so lets just leave it at that! I love those little sun conures too, of course I have one and she is so sweet and I bet Tiki knows she has landed in a good home, finally with someone who knows how to treat a precious creature.:cheer:
  23. Toni you don't need to apoligize for your absence, we know you have been busy and you get here when you can, we all have our own lives and sometimes other needs take us elsewhere but don't feel guilty about it. I do look forward to seeing you on here more after winter gets here as you will need something for those long cold winter nights, just come here and we will play games. BTW, take Bernie up on his offer to be his 9th babe, he has quite the harem going.
  24. Wow that was fast, can't wait to see some faster, thanks for sharing that with us Bernie.
