  1. Then you are one weird person is all I can say for no one enjoys pain and it is not a measure of love but if you enjoy pain then maybe you should see a doctor.
  2. Not at one year of age he wouldn't be hormonal Jamal and even though an occasional bite is to be expected it should not be an everday occurance, maybe you are ignoring the signs or continuing to do things your grey doesn't like so he has to resort to biting to let you know.
  3. He is becoming more independent now and is testing the waters so to speak, he is finding out he can control more of his surroundings than before. Most all greys will do this but I don't think he hates you, he may have changed his favorite person but that happens too. I would continue to do as normal and see if some time changes things but he is finding out he can get his way and he is loving it.
  4. Yep that Tiggs will have the ride of his lifetime and a parrot will pilot it, can't wait to see it, yeah Tiggs!! Heh heh heh heh heh:laugh:
  5. Ohhhh, I love Tiggs, what a pic! B)
  6. Hello Piper and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your grey.
  7. Yes most greys love those hot chilies and maybe when he has been eating them you could wipe his beak off before he does it on your face or offer your shirt, better the shirt than the face:ohmy:
  8. In my opinion, if he won't get down when I ask them to off my shoulder then those priviledges will be revoked, just keep alternating arms and stop him from going to the shoulder, he will learn he is not allowed there. As far as landing on your head, put your arm up and gently swat him away, he will soon learn he cannot land there and stop. He is trying or testing you right now, you have to take a stand and let him know he can't do what he wants to, it may take many many tries but he is allowed to continue then he is boss and knows it.
  9. Yes you did Sanggay, he was very curious to just look around at the new surroundings or new to him surroundings I should say, thanks for sharing that with us and can't wait to see when he gets to fly outside.
  10. I am going to that store one day, not to buy a bird but just to spend some time with the birds and load up on toys and such, what an experience it must have been for you and the kids. Congrats on the new addition, pictures please.
  11. Congrats on the new addition Penny I know she will be much loved in her new home, now you know what we want, pictures please, I want to see her and it will be interesting who is boss after she settles in.
  12. Diane, maybe you are not paying attention to his cues that he has had enough or doesn't want these other people handling him, biting is one of their main ways of letting you know they don't like it. Your grey is getting older and becoming more independent, he is trying to see what he can get away with, he is not going to stay that gentle little grey you once knew, not meaning that he is going to be mean now but just a little more stubborn. He is finding out he can do and get away with more and he is testing you. My grey has never bitten me but I can tell a difference in her from the time she was less than one year of age, they can go thru phases and such but if you keep up with your consistency in handling him then you should not have many problems with him. They are gonna have times that they may not want handled much or maybe none at all and you have to respect that just as we have times we want to be left alone.
  13. I have one of those at home, they are beautiful, an absolute ray of sunshine, I know you are going to enjoy yours as much as I do mine, thanks for sharing some pictures with us.
  14. Well would you lookie at that Tiggs there on the boat, having a jolly good ride, bet he will never let you forget that ride!!{Feel-bad-00020080}

  16. Me too Deb, both of mine do not like bathing except in their water bowls but it is so refreshing to see one who does love it, thanks for sharing that with us Adina.

  18. Wow Dave you are a brave man to do that but I am surprised you only had that one bite, severe as it was but I would have expected more interference from her. They are adorable little babies and now you get to enjoy holding them to finish out their growth into full size greys and then you have to part with them, the really sad part of breeding them, you can't keep them all.
  19. No marmite for me thank you!:pinch:
  20. Look at those adorable little babies, I want to just pick them up and squeeze the daylights out of them. Camilla was probably preening herself as she is very proud of her accomplishments for a job well done. Now all that is left is the story of how you managed to get those chicks away from Camilla and Gonzo, details please Dave.
  21. Well I guess we can assume you do not work outside the home, with all those birds it keeps you busy and 8 dogs to boot. I don't know how you do it but you must love it, I find taking care of two birds to be enough to keep me busy. Yes we would love to see pictures of your flock when you get the chance.
  22. You are right Dan, they just don't THINK!!
  23. Ok then that is fine, from the picture it looks like it is more than that, your hand must be small as I can't fit my hand inside like you can to give a treat. Time and patience is your best friend right now, follow that and soon you will see your grey's personality emerge, enjoy your new fella.
  24. Yes it is sad how they are treated in pet stores and I won't buy a bird from them for that reason but some employees are ignorant of how to handle them, hence you saw one using a net, it is too bad you couldn't take the little fella but we can't save them all.
