  2. EEEEEEEEkkkkkkkkkkkk, you should have put a warning on that, I almost pissed my pants!! Heh heh heh {Emotions-00020120}
  3. Pasta is a favorite of Josey too, I feed her with her own bowl so she does not get into my plate which she would if allowed, she is fed on a playstand in the kitchen where I always eat.
  4. Congratulations Brittany and so glad to hear you are gonna keep Pepper but you will have to keep your new baby a safe distance from her when she is out. When your new baby arrives you will work out a schedule that allows you enough time to spend with her and the baby, where there is a will there is a way.

    Propane

    Jay, it would be about the same as for natural gas, make sure it is vented properly and that there are carbon monoxide detectors in the house.
  6. Chris is right, he will want to be with you wherever you are.
  7. Its great to have you back Caroline, I have missed you, if it weren't for facebook and email I would hae been lost without you. Ah yes the teenage daughter, well time will take care of her but hang in there and you will get thru it and then look back and laugh, these are trying times for a parent especially a mother but you will pass this test with flying colors. So don't waste any time and get busy with posting and catching up.:kiss: B)
  8. Great picture of Emma in flight, now that you are learing your way around maybe we will see more pictures though don't stop with the videos, they are really entertaining, you may have just sparked my interest in trying my hand at them.
  9. Hello Msmousej and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Mandy.
  10. Jill, he is smarter than you give him credit for, he just wants you to think he is thick but you just have no idea of what is going on in that walnut sized brain of his, watch out Jill!:laugh: :woohoo:

    nealo wrote: I don't care what people on other forums say, we say it is not big enough, they need room to be able to open their wings fully to flap and not touch the sides, the dimensions you gave is for a cage that is too small for a grey.
  12. I too allow my birds on my shoulder but they both step up for me no problem, don't even have to ask, just put my hand in front of them and they know what I want. You need to "allow" your grey on your shoulder and not just let her get away with it because she has the upper hand.
  13. Thats great to hear Julie that things are better and they are talking some, thanks for the update.
  14. I know, I have been eyeing them at the grocery store but just haven't broken down and bought one for Josey to try, maybe if I put her into the shower stall then I can just hose it down.:whistle: :laugh:
  15. I too leave a radio on when I am gone to work or just away for a while, keeps them company and helps to drown out sounds that may disturb them.
  16. What I buy is clear looking and I don't see pieces in it, it comes in a gal container from Walmart and I have never had it gum up my spray bottle.
  17. They are adorable at that age, I bet you are having the time of your life Dave with those babies, you lucky thing, thanks for sharing the pic with us.
  18. Oh my gosh Pat, how in the world did you keep that a secret, so thats why you haven't been on much lately, now we know. Chatot is a gorgeous bird, you lucky woman, I don't know how you find the time for all these birds but you manage, what a beautiful bird, you have hit the jackpot with this one, thanks for sharing him with us.
  19. That often huh, poor Tiggs {Feel-good-00020069}
  20. So glad to hear Yoshi is eating and otherwise acting normal but do not hesitate to contact the vet if it happens again.
  21. You can use towels or an old blanket,just put some newspaper on top to catch most of the poops and wash it when it gets soiled.
  22. Yes that cage is fine, plenty big enough for your grey to flap his/her wings and stretch. I agree with your idea of putting something soft on the bottom to cushion any falls until he/she gets more adept at climbing.
  23. Well if your breeder is an avian vet then he should know but 8 to 9 weeks of age is awfully early to be weaned, my grey was over 20 weeks of age before I brought her home as she was a slow to wean. Dave007 is a breeder of greys and maybe he will give you some insight into what he thinks of your g rey being weaned at 8 to 9 weeks.
  24. Hello Amanda and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Kirra. Are you going to be continuing the handfeeding process if you are bringing Kirra home in 1 to 2 weeks? Do you have experience with this? If you are not experienced we like for people to leave the handfeeding and weaning to the breeders. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We love pictures here so if you have some of Kirra you would share with us we would love to see them.
  25. I didn't know that Chet Womack had a facebook page but what you reported about him does not surprise me in the least, he is only after the money, he doesn't know squat about birds in my opinion, save your money and spend it on bird food, toys and such. The very mention of his name leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Please introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us some more about you and your bird.
