  1. Hello JJsGrey and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Lulu. Tell us more about you and Lulu, how long you have had her, is she a dna'd female, did you get her as a just weaned baby and so forth so we can get to know you better. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We love pictures here so if you have some of Lulu you would share with us we would love to see them.
  2. Pat, I hope Darius is ok, please let us know how he is.
  3. She is in love with you, she has chosen you as her "mate", the drooped wings are a good indication that she is sexually stimulated, I would not be touching her on her back, under the wings or anywhere around the tail area and those are love bites. You want to discourage this so try distracting her to something else and let her calm down before interacting with her again.
  4. At the moment it actually is, it is snowing hard this morning, don't know how much we are supposed to get but will take whatever we get, I love to watch it falling, I am in heaven at the moment. Jill, don't think you can run amuck thru the forum in my absence, others will be my eyes during the day for a while and you never know when I may get to take a peek myself, after all I do have a blackberry, heh heh heh.
  5. I can't imagine that they would stop selling newspapers altogether, I no longer get the daily paper but I continue to get the Sunday paper, I stockpiled some before my subscription ran out. I know a lot of people get their news by the computer now so the daily paper does not sell as well as it used to but it will be interesting to see what happens if newspapers fail to get printed in the near future, any alternative to lining the cage bottom will prove to be more expensive which is the way of everything nowadays.
  6. Thanks Ryan for the recommendation, I have long admired Barbara Heidenreich and the Good Bird magazine and it is nice to know that some people stand behind their word and come thru when things go wrong, glad you were surprised.
  7. Pm admin, specifically Talon and she can take care of that for you, glad to see you back on the forum as it has been a long time since you have been on.
  8. I have a big one that my hubby uses for deer jerky but will have to get it out and try it for some vegetables and fruits, thanks for the reminder Janet.
  9. Janet, it will give you a chance to catch up with me cause this old woman is slowing down!
  10. Hush Janet, she meant to say starting on Monday.
  11. So glad its Friday, I need a drink so bad I can about taste it!
  12. Great shots Bernie, thanks for sharing them with us.

    Meat

I would never advocate giving greys raw meat, any kind of raw meat Jamal, I am surprised your birds are healthy if you feed raw meat. :pinch:
  14. There is a saying, "there is one born every minute' and that is what these remedies are meant for, the suckers who fall for them, those who think a solution is in a bottle, no such animal.
  15. Yuck, I hate beer, give me a margarita any day, I think I am going to be needing lots of them in the days to come, gosh do I need one right now!
  16. I too am proud of you Pat, you realize you can't save them all and you owe it to the ones you have to give them the care and attention they deserve, you are a good woman who knows her limits. I hope that grey finds a good home very soon and you can rest easy knowing its going to be taken care of.
  17. I am a cat person, always have been and have had at least one cat at any given time and I did declaw one cat but never again. I felt so bad afterward about what I had done, no cat should have that done to them and I thought she was going to hate me for it but she didn't. I do spay and neuter my cats for they make nicer pets that way and of course it cuts down on the cat population since there are too many out there in need of homes as it is. Very nice post Dave and you couldn't have said it better, thanks for doing that.
  18. Thats great news Lyn, thanks for letting us knowhat Alfie is a wuss when it comes to cockatiels, what a hoot!!
  19. I noticed that, couldn't figure out whether it was natural or whether it was done intentionally since he was going after it.
  20. "Cats don't like water" As a rule cats don't but this particular one is an exception to the rule! :silly:

  23. Hello Fiona and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Bonkers. That is a cute name for a grey and it sounds like you are doing just fine with him so far but realize that changes will happen so be prepared for it. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We love pictures here so if you have some of Bonkers you would share with us we would love to see him.
