  1. That was hilarious Jan, Tobie knew he didn't do anything and certainly not that brown puddle on the floor, thanks for sharing that with us.
  2. I think he may have meant ground nuts, not a type of nut but ground up so as to mix in the mash but he will correct me if I am wrong.
  3. Morana, I think Shanlung was referring to the fact that we all are mortal and will die someday so in essence our days are numbered here on earth, I don't think he was speaking that he was not returning to the forum.
  4. You don't have to be in any kind of hurry about naming it as maybe something about his personality will spark a name to mind, has he been sexed, if not then you might want to have that done before you think about names.
  5. He is a cute little thing, they are so adorable at this age, can't wait to see how he develops over the coming weeks, thanks for sharing the pic with us.
  6. Sometimes all they want is reassurance that you are still nearby even though they can't see you, why not call back and say you are still here and let him know that. Is Wallace an only bird? If so it may help to get another bird for some just do not like being left alone and even though they won't share the same cage they are in the same room and then you have more of a flock versus a lone bird, just a suggestion. Basically ignoring the behavior is the only route but it takes time and it can get worse before it gets better.
  7. Hello Saddlebredgirl and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us and congrats on getting your first grey. I do hope you have had some experience with handfeeding a bird as things can go wrong, be sure to read some of the threads in the nursery room as they contain good information. This is your first grey but is it your first bird? If you have some pictures of this little baby grey you would share with us we would love to see it.
  8. Emma is definitely a hoot to watch, keep those vids coming Adina, she is our Superstar!
  9. Thanks Paul for the link, I will watch it with interest later today.
  10. Hello Leah and welcome to our family, so glad you could stop by and join us. Yogi looks cute from your avatar and if you have some more pictures of Yogi you would share with us we would love to see them.
  11. I feed my grey the Harrison's pellets but most of the brands are just as good and I always thought the colored ones weren't the best to offer because of the coloring in them.
  12. Thats so sad but I hope this one makes it, I am going to keep good thoughts that it does.
  13. Alissia, I am so sorry to hear your new baby grey has been diagnosed with aspergillosis, please do keep us informed and I will keep you and Linus in my thoughts and prayers.
  14. I wouldn't give up either as Mino is still missing and someone has him, I am sure of that and you will find him or the person who has him will turn him in for the reward, I continue to hold good thoughts that he is returned safe and sound. I highly doubt there is a population of "feral greys" living there, they are mistaking pigeons for greys.
  15. Hello Kevin and welcome to our family, I think you stated that correctly, you have been taken over by a grey for they seem to be the ones who own us and not the other way around. I am so glad you could open your heart to give this grey a new forever home for it seems she needed it so badly, I am sure they loved her but maybe they just didn't know the needs of a grey, that they need attention along with the love and care, in any case she is getting it now and is blossoming under your care. Since you are more familiar with smaller birds do read thru the threads here for lots of useful information and do ask those questions you have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Seuss you would share with us we would love to see her.
  16. I like Barbara's idea of preparing them ahead of time and freezing them in ice cube trays for easy heating in the microwave, you can leave a list of fresh foods you feed Took and your mom can fix a little extra when she makes salad for meals.
  17. Wow that is weird and scary at the same time, good thing he was ok after a few minutes, I guess they could strangle on a piece of food and I don't know what you should do if such a thing happened, glad he is back to his old self.
  18. What a cute little baby bird, I hope you continue to post some updates on this baby conure as I would like to see the development into a fully feathered golden conure.
  19. Thanks Penny for letting us know about this broadcast, looking forward to it.
  20. He looks so handsome in the new pictures and has been eating something green, maybe it is the asparagus he is holding in the last shot, thanks for sharing the pics with us.
  21. Gosh it sounds like Yoshi is just making herself at home, she must have a wonderful personality for a grey and I hope it continues to go so smoothly but it is still the honeymoon phase but you have been thru this before and done well so no reason it won't this time. She sounds like an absolute delight to have, Jessica must miss her terribly. I look forward to seeing some pictures and hearing how it all goes in the coming weeks and months.
  22. Hello Val and welcome to our family, so glad you found us and I wish all bird owners did the same before they plunged in for the first time with a bird they saw at a pet store and wanted it before finding out what they were getting into, its the reason why we have so many birds in rescue and rehome situations. You will certainly learn new things here, just take a look thru our many threads for lots of info and stories of these amazing creatures and if you have any questions just post them and the members here will help you in any way they can. If you have any pictures of your fids you would share with us we would love to see them.
  23. Hello Alissia and welcome to our family, so sorry to hear that Linus is fighting for his life, maybe if it is not prying too much you could tell us what happened to him or why he is in this struggle right now as we like to lend moral support to any of our members with birds in any kind of stress. I assume that is Linus in your avatar, he looks like a handsome fella and if you have other pictures of him you would share with us we would love to see them.
  24. Thanks Adina and Jane for your glowing recommendations for Good Bird Parrot Training eBook - Training to Step Up
  25. I continue to keep good thoughts that Mino is returned to you safe and sound, do you have any news?
