  1. To each his own, some stay logged in but not at the computer all the time and others like me usually get on and get business done and gone to other things.
  2. They will lose a lot of feathers when they molt but there should be no bald spots, the tail and wing feathers do not all fall out at the same time, usually just a few so they are capable of flight at all times, they will look a little scruffy when molting. Morana asked some pertinent questions so if you give us some more info then we may be better able to help you.
  3. Hello Karin and welcome to our family, we look forward to hearing lots more about you and your two greys Momo and Kikki. Please take a little time and look thru the threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Momo and Kikki you would share with us we would love to see them.
  4. What a little sweetheart Marcus is getting to be, now I wonder if the "later" will become a habit, let us know if tonight is a repeat performance, thanks for sharing that with us.
  5. Wow that is a great looking perch and the possibilities are endless with that pipe and fittings, interested in what you come up with next, thanks so much for sharing the directions and pictures with us, any one of us could make one of these.
  6. Mocha is so much faster than her and that scares her but glad to hear her comical fall down the steps didn't cause her any harm.
  7. Yes you left out some of the best ones, the ones of her on her back, I love these and especially so since my grey won't do that for me, thanks for sharing them with us.
  8. In spite of his baggage he has turned out to be quite a sweetheart it seems, he just needed some love and attention and he is certainly getting that, I am glad you are learning the body language for it will serve you well in the coming years, I look forward to hearing more stories you have to tell us in the future.
  9. Then he got what he deserved, he persisted when Cocoa made it plain that she didn't want to be touched, maybe he will think twice before he tries that with another bird.
  10. I have to second what Jill said, greys will spook easier and their natural instinct is to take flight so keep that in mind when you get a grey.
  11. And if you are not happy then change your mind!
  12. You just never know but he might have been, thats a wonderful story and like you I am inclined to think he may have been imitating Beaker, if he did then he is one smart grey.
  13. Sanggay, you have become quite a skilled photographer, those pictures look like I am right there with you and Cocoa, very nice.
  14. Such a cute little thing, I checked out a few of the other golden conure vids and they are adorable, please keep us updated on this chick.
  15. Weight doesn't have much to do with it Janet as sometimes the smaller the feistier, it mostly depends on the temperament of the bird but maybe Dave will elaborate more for us.
  16. I do notice that you don't post as often as you used to Stephen but you can gush all you want about Issac because we know you love the little guy so much and I envy the relationship you have with him so keep the stories coming.
  17. Happy belated Hatchday Linus, you are a handsome fella and I hope you get to celebrate many of these days to come.
  18. Oh what a bummer Janet but you know the possibility they would breed is next to nil even if you got a male but if your heart is set on a female then you are going to have to wait, decisions decisions.
  19. I would never feed a hot dog to a bird, it is filled with salt and preservatives, in fact we as humans should not be eating them either, you know what they say, "that if you ever go to where they make the things you will never eat another one in your life" it has other things in it that you wouldn't think belongs in food meant for human consumption. My fids especially Josey eats chicken, turkey, lean pork cuts, deer and other wild animals that we eat and she has eggs from time to time.
  20. Looks nice Sherrie, you have some wonderful looking companions.
  21. I don't know what kind of perch you could put in that carrier, you might just have to go with putting a towel in the bottom for him to stand on, put a treat inside and foot toys and let him see you do that, it may encourage him to want to go inside to get it, do that several times until Friday and maybe you won't have such a problem with getting him inside. Maybe someone else has suggestions for what kind of perch you could make for that carrier but it would have to be close to the bottom for him to not hit his head on the top when inside.
  22. I would do as Talon suggested, let Bob watch and participate in the setting up of the cage and if he balks then you know you have to set it beside his current cage to allow him time to adjust to it and when he ventures into it to explore then you know you can move him into it, sounds like a plan to me.
  23. You could make a paper mache one and make it look like a broken open egg or just use a basket as it is a symbol of Easter or even a stuffed bunny, the possibilities are endless.
  24. Poor little fella, he must have gotten into something when you weren't looking, hope he is going to be ok after a round of meds, thanks Chris for keeping us informed on Rambo.
  25. So glad to hear that Zak's poops have returned to normal but those were some odd looking ones for sure, I look forward to your information on the coloration of poops your vet gave you as it will be of help to us all.
