  1. I have never tried making birdie bread but your recipe makes me want to so I may try a version of it soon, my fids don't eat a lot of their veggies either, just at times they do so I am always looking for ways to get more inside of them, thanks for sharing that with us.
  2. Hello Lino and welcome to our family, so glad to hear you have a grey. Why not tell us more about this grey, his/her name, is it a rescue or rehomed grey and so forth so we can get to know you and your grey better. I am in the USA but we may have other members from Singapore. Would you share some pictures of your grey with us as we would love to see him/her.
  3. Hello Teresa and welcome to our family, what a great story of how you came to have Rorschach. He is one lucky fella to have found you and even though you don't know a lot about greys you are willing to learn, you have come to the right place for that as we have loads of information in our many threads, read thru them and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Bonding can take quite a while with a rehomed grey but he is fairly young at 2 years of age but he has done well in my opinion and you will get a handle on the body language which will help you in knowing when a bite may be coming so you can avoid it. I am so glad to hear you want to leave the wings unclipped, he will be a much more confident grey and be able to go outside on a harness and enjoy the outdoors. Now all we need is some pictures of him to admire if you would so indulge us.
  4. So what makes you so certain she is going to be a fireball, you will have to elaborate a little on this and maybe share a few pictures of Chloe with us but most of all enjoy your little bundle of joy.
  5. Like Dave said they lose their wing and tail feathers all year round, a few at a time and then they are replaced, this is so the bird is still capable of flight so do not worry when you see a couple of the big feathers around, just nature taking its course.

    changing name

Great idea Bran on changing a grey's name and if it works for yours then it can work for others too.
  7. Thats an amazing video Stephen of Issac twirling around, thanks for sharing it with us.
  8. Ha ha, they never had a chance with Cocoa did they, thanks for sharing it with us.
  9. Alissia, I am so sorry to hear of this sad news, I was so hoping Linus would get better but alas it was not meant to be but at least his short life was filled with love and admiration, even though his time was short you both were blessed to have had one another. May he fly free over the Rainbow Bridge until you see him again one day.
  10. Hello Austinvs and welcome to our family, so glad you are finally going to realize your life long dream of owning a grey or maybe it will be more like a grey owning you as you will soon find out. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them at your leisure and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. I would always supervise any time the grey spends out of the cage with the puppy around for it only takes a second for something to happen otherwise you should not have any problems as other members have birds and dogs and/or cats. Be sure to indulge us with some pictures when you get this bird settled into her new home.
  11. This is what I hoped for that the owner was found and I hope his injuries aren't too severe but he had one close call, thanks Heather for letting us know and for your generosity with the reward.
  12. Well at this stage of the game thats all he is thinking of is food, is he warm enough?
  13. I don't but it looks like it would be a good one for a grey, looks a bit pricey but then nothing is cheap nowadays.
  14. Congratulations on your graduation and the only thing I can think of that you did not mention is a heavy duty bell for your grey to bat around and fight with, a must have for greys, mine loves hers and its the one thing I can't rotate out as she would be lost without it.
  15. The poor dear, she found him in the nick of time since that hawk would eventually have had him for dinner, I hope the owner is looking for him and they are reunited soon. Try getting in touch with these sites I have included as they might be able to help. http://www.petalert.com.au/ http://www.911parrotalert.com/
  16. I would imagine it is normal for them to be vocal and I have never hand fed a baby bird before but it might help if you put some kind of small stuffed animal in with him to keep him company since he is an only chick, something he can cuddle up to and not feel alone, just a suggestion.
  17. I guess rolling them exposes the insides so they cook up better but rolled oats are a common commodity here in the USA and probably in other countries too but maybe not Croatia, they make for a filling and hearty breakfast.
  18. Hello Debbie and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and good for you for taking over Gizmo's care. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them at your leisure and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Gizmo is a cutie from the pics you shared even if they are several years old, looking forward to seeing some recent ones when you get around to sharing them with us.
  19. Thats good to hear but keep an eye on him whenever Mojo is out.
  20. Terri its good to have you back on the forum after a long absence, you were missed.

  21. I think Sully will be fine if you handle it right, let him know what you are doing for they understand more than what we give them credit for and take it easy around him. They usually don't handle change very well but if you go slowly, talk to him and give him time to adjust then it shouldn't be a problem.
  22. Hello Upinthehills and welcome to our family, glad you got your grey back after a long absence but at least you have been able to stay in touch and be a part of his life. Things happen in life and we deal with them the best we can, it was good of your mother to take Greyson in when your kids were small but then she fell in love with him, I hope he is back to stay this time. Since you haven't been a stranger to him while he was in your mother's care he should do fine, its not like he is going back to people he hasn't seen in years but you will have to try to figure out why he is plucking his feathers now. How long has he been doing that? I am looking forward to seeing some pictures of him when you get the chance.
  23. What an adorable little sweetheart, thats a precious shot of your baby, thanks for sharing it with us.
  24. Debbie, I can assure you he remembers you as they don't easily forget someone. Thanks so much for taking him into your home when you realized your brother wasn't giving him what he needs. It will take time for him to get over not seeing your mum any longer but it sounds like he really likes you a lot. They drink some but not a whole lot of water, if you have provided him with a source of water he will drink what he needs, just make sure it is clean and change it often. Why don't you go ahead and allow him to come out of the cage on his own, since he is already familiar with you he should do just fine and don't be nervous or he will sense it, just relax and enjoy Gizmo. I would love to see some pictures of him if you have some you would share with us.
  25. The eighth one down is my favorite, great action shots, thanks for sharing them with us.
