  1. Its a visitor message not a pm but doing as asked.

  2. Most greys do not need beak trims but some do grow abnormally for various reasons and need trims, sometimes they chip off too much and they need a trim to get it in good condition again, my grey's beak has never been trimmed but if it did need it I would take her to the vet and have him trim it for me.
  3. These will be the longest two weeks of your life waiting for her to come home but it will be worth it, she seems to have taken to you already so it will go smoother when she does come to your home to live, she is a lucky little grey to have someone who loves her so much.
  4. It sounds like Seuss is settling in nicely and that chatting on the shoulder when company comes is an attention getter, she must be part ham then, she has a wonderful personality, I think we are going to be hearing a lot more about her in the coming future.
  5. Hello RevVan and welcome to our family, you have quite a flock with an amazon, 3 greys and a quaker, I bet there is never a dull moment in your house. Are you and BenzMama related? I think that the more we learn the more we realize we do not know so it is an ongoing process to learn all we can about these magnificent creatures we share our homes with, once we have brought them into our house we find how did we manage to get along without them. If you have some pictures of your greys you would share with us we would love to see them.
  6. BenzMama is correct, you have to maintain the proper pecking order meaning the first bird there stays first in everything, first fed, first spoken to, first to be let out and so forth, that will keep the first one's nose from getting out of joint, so to speak. Maintain supervision when they are out at the same time to make sure no conflicts take place, maybe you will be one of the lucky ones and they will tolerate each other but there is no guarantee that they will. We have many members who have more than one grey and they do just fine.
  7. Hello Sandy and welcome to our family, you must love Shadow very much for now you are adding a second grey, they are amazing creatures. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do browse thru them at your leisure and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We love pictures here so if you have some of Shadow you would share with us we would love to see them.
  8. Hello LadySerpent and welcome to our family, so glad you have a grey baby and thanks for sharing a picture with us, he/she is adorable. Please do read thru the many threads here for lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.
  9. That is such a cute picture and he was making sure he didn't fall while sleeping, you wouldn't believe some of the positions that greys get into for sleeping, how about upside down in their food bowl, we had a member who's grey would do that. Thats good he was curious about his new cage and surroundings, bet he will be in the mood for more when he wakes up. Thanks for sharing that picture with us, that pic will go into his scrapbook as the first day home.
  10. Hello Lovemyparrotwithallmysoul and welcome to our family, so glad you could introduce yourself and Babe, I know when you are stressed out about something that is first and foremost on your mind but I hope you find out something soon to ease your worry. We do love to see pictures here and when you can manage it please share some of Babe with us as we are anxious to see her.
  11. You did the right thing to not show any concern in putting him into the carrier for they sense our emotions, sounds like he is not the picture of health but don't beat yourself up about it, no use in crying over spillt milk, you know now and that is what counts. I hope his tests come back with good news. Good to hear you have sweet potatoes there, my Josey loves them and they are so good for them. Too bad about his tail feathers but they will grow back and he will be back to his old self soon. Thanks for keeping us informed and let us know what the test results are, hope they are good news.
  12. I don't know why your avian vet won't explain this further, he should be giving you some suggestions for putting some weight on him but maybe it will come in time, does the vet seem concerned about his weight? It is understandable that he would lose weight being sick and it may take a while for him to put it back on, I would question the vet for a better explanation.
  13. He is a handsome fella and does love the camera, looks good in that flight suit too, thanks for sharing the pics with us and good luck to the both of you with the harness.
  14. Well finally you have your female Janet, I am so happy for you and know you can't wait for her to wean so you can get your hands on her, if you get any pics of her please share them with us.

    Beans....

I can just imagine and maybe its best left that way. LOL
  16. I love it when I hear Josey laugh in my voice, imitation is the best form of flattery.

    Help....

What a hoot, Rebel will have the neighborhood thinking someone needs help inside, bet she gets a kick out of doing it too, thanks for sharing that with us.
  18. Oh thats a good one Dan, had not heard this one before, its good, real good, thanks for sharing that with us.
  19. I knew this was what it was as soon as I saw the title of this thread, greys love to mimic sounds they hear and he quickly learned that imitating that phone would bring you quickly back into the house, you are in for a treat as he masters other household sounds, you won't know whether its him or the real thing, enjoy. Thanks for sharing that little story with us.
  20. Hello TagSugar and welcome to our family, my she is a pretty thing and thanks for including pictures in your intro post. I am so glad to hear you opened your heart and home for this grey as there are lots of birds out there in need of new homes but you have come to the right place looking for advice so do not hesitate to ask questions you may have and we will do what we can to help you with answers. I hope you are not pushed aside like last night's meatloaf when your hubby gets home but this happens in lots of grey households so be prepared to be somewhat rebuffed when he makes his appearance. It sounds like you are making great strides in his absence though.
  21. I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly tomorrow with the vet visit, be sure to keep us posted.
  22. It does appear to be chipped but their beaks flake off from time to time anyways so it doesn't look like a problem to me but if you have any concerns just call your avian vet and ask, when in doubt that is what I would do. How old is your Tag and I am assuming her name is Sugar? Why don't you make an intro post in the welcome room and tell us a little about yourself and this Tag.
  23. I just logged off and back on and banners are there, this is puzzling, hope they are to stay this time.
  24. Thats funny because your banner was there before I logged on and now it is missing.
  25. I did check that out and it looks nice, I made a playstand out of that type pipe and Josey won't have anything to do with it, you are very handy.
