  1. I echo Greywings' post about the cage, it should be fine for short term.
  2. I am not from Canada but I just wanted to comment on the cat as I just saw it in your signature line, that is one big pussycat, looks like he doesn't venture too far from the food bowl huh, fat cat.
  3. Congrats on bringing Shelby home, sounds like she is starting to settle into her new home and yes we will bug the daylights out of you until you share some pictures with us so get on with it.
  4. You will have to get creative with the camera and hide it behind something for lots of us have greys who shut up when they see the camera, he is such a good boy and thanks for sharing that with us.
  5. That is adorable, loves those neck scritches but then most do, thanks for sharing that with us.
  6. I think I read somewhere that it is similar to a sound they hear in their natural habitat, maybe it sounds like when it rains but it works because my sun conure will go get into her water bowl while the vacuum is running.
  7. Its fine as an occasional treat if you can find it and it provides hours of chewing enjoyment.
  8. Its Bat bird, they look so cute hanging upside down and they sure can entertain us with their antics, mine tries to bathe in her water bowl too and its hilarious seeing them trying to fit their body into the bowl, thanks for sharing the pics with us.
  9. She is beautiful and yes looks a mite cautious but yes that is to be expected so give her time to settle in and feel comfortable, allow her to set the pace of what she wants to do and talk to her softly telling her what you are doing. Love the name and how it is spelled, thanks for sharing the pic with us.
  10. I bet you will be able to tell them apart, like mothers with twins mom knows who is who and you will too, looking forward to hearing more and maybe some pictures of this new quaker too, oh and btw congrats.
  11. I guess Josey has yet to hear the music that will make her dance but I love to watch other's greys dance to the beat, thanks for sharing that with us.
  12. They are both beautiful birds, Ruby looks so much like a scarlet macaw and it looks like Prince shares a special relationship with your son too, thanks for sharing the pictures with us.
  13. Janet you are going to have so much fun with her and she is photogenic too, thanks for sharing the pic with us.
  14. Murphy was getting into all that jazz, he is adorable Paul and thanks so much for capturing that and sharing it with us.
  15. I don't have an amazon but I know grey beaks do peel from time to time as they are constantly growing, my grey wipes her beak on perches and such so I don't think you have anything to worry about.
  16. Hello Shelly and welcome to our family and congrats on getting your baby grey. I know a grey is one of the quieter of the parrots so there should not be as loud as your macaws, greys require some attention from you and your family every day as they are a flock animals. They take slowly to any kind of change in their environment, new toys have to be introduced gradually which can sometimes take weeks for them to come to accept and some of them turn out to be one person birds meaning they have a favorite. You can read thru the many threads here for lots of useful information and do ask those questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We have an other birds room where you can share some pictures of your macaws if you like.
  17. I've seen this video before but what strikes me most is the grey always dunks in the yellow basket and the eclectus parrots use the blue one even if they get the ball on the other's court, it is so cute to watch these birds play ball, thanks for sharing that with us Val.
  18. I wholeheartedly agree with you Morana and you were not out of line, the uncle is the problem plain and simple and the bird is the one paying the price for his ignorance.
  19. You probably have a large boned Cag and that other bird is a small boned Tag which when you put them side by side it looks like a huge difference but that is definitely a Tag, thanks for sharing the pictures with us. I will have to echo Morana's comment about the cage Laura is in as it definitely needs a good scrubbing.
  20. It is important to have different size and diameter perches for your fids as they can get "frozen" into a particular shape if they have to use the same ones all the time, variety is the spice of life and that perch that Dave showed in his post provides a wide variety of poses, it helps to excercise the foot muscles.
  21. Its upside down but if I turn myself up on my head I can see it, LOL. They also make those ceiling protectors that rotate 360 degrees and keep your bird from going all the way to the ceiling where they can do damage, I included a link to one such item: http://www.greyfeathertoys.com/store/products.php?and=1&keywords=ceiling+protectors&search.x=11&search.y=6
  22. Looks good to me too, very creative to use a cage you no longer use for a play area, bet they love it.
  23. I can't reiterate what Dave said any better than he has already but it is very important to keep the vet informed of any change as he needs any and all information to diagnose or treat her properly but I am holding good thoughts that she gets thru this present illness with flying colors and back to her old self. Keep us informed.
  24. WEll they definitely are not albino squirrels for they don't have pink noses, ears or eyes but they are cute, thanks for sharing them with us.
  25. My grey Josey does the same thing in her water dish, she only manages to fling water all over the place and she doesn't get very wet, thats a cute pic of Brutus, thanks for sharing it with us.
