  1. Hello Aw64 and welcome to our family, you will learn much from reading thru the many threads so spend that time waiting for your baby to come home learning as much as you can.
  2. Mosely is a little tiffed off right now due to the new changes, you know how well they accept change, so keep doing what you are doing and he should come around again to being more of himself, some handle these circumstances better than others but time and patience will work it all out.
  3. You are a smart woman Janet to know your limitations, sure you were tempted as I have been a time or two in the past but it sounds like Rocky has a friend right now and who knows if your ship does come in you could take them both. Yes please do take the camera if you return to the store.
  4. Twix, it was a great idea but the information is already on the forum in various threads as stickys so it would just be a redundancy, your heart is in the right place.
  5. That was awesome, there are some cute vids posted on facebook and that comment was adorable.
  6. Transitioning him to a new healthier diet will take time so don't panic if he is not eating the veggies right now but keep offering them for usually they will take a notion to try them and enjoy some so don't despair, besides like Jay and Dave said if you are offering too much fruit no wonder he doesn't want the veggies, they are just like small children right not, they want the sweet and not the good for you stuff. Try all kinds of veggies, be sure to check the list in the bird food room of forbidden foods but try them different ways, cooked, fresh raw, chopped, mashed and whatever way you can think of for some prefer them a certain way or will more readily eat them one way more so than the other, but the main thing is to keep trying.
  7. Oh I see you have added some more pictures, she is adorable and that second pic is precious with her dark eyes, wow you are going to have fun with her, be sure to let us know how it goes but just take things nice and slow.
  8. Well congrats on getting Oliver home, of course I should have figured that was it, so how are things going so far, please do tell us more and share some pictures too, come on now and be a good sport.
  9. Well don't leave us hanging like this, what is it?
  10. Congrats on your new addition of Merlin, sennies are beautiful birds and yours is no exception but watch out now that the neighborhood knows you are a bird lover you might find yourself the recipient of more handovers, glad you could give Merlin a new forever home.
  11. Let us know how your recipes come out and whether Luna likes them.
  12. Makes it all worth it to get out of bed early doesn't it Dee.
  13. Dan is right, maybe it would be best to leave her in her big cage as it is the one she feels at home in, maybe the addition of a nightlight will help. To help desensitize her to the smaller cage leave it out in sight and maybe hang a couple small toys in it so she will be enticed to go inside to investigate, this may help to get her more comfortable going in the smaller cage for it will be useful for trips to the vet and maybe on trips outside for some sun and fresh air.
  14. Congrats on deciding to get another grey, it may seem like too soon for you but you obviously have a lot of love for them and by putting down that deposit you are saying it is time and Willow would be proud for you for what better way to honor her than by giving your love to another as Dee pointed out, when one door closes another opens, I am so happy for you.
  15. This is gonna be awesome.
  16. Congrats on bringing Luna home and she looks good sitting there on that branch, yes she is in all new surroundings and is taking it all in so give her time to adjust, hope you have put her perches down low and padded the bottom of the cage in case she falls as babies are a little clumsy until they get more adept at perching. She is a beautiful grey though.
  17. That was certainly scary for both of you but thankfully she doesn't hold it against you, all was forgiven but an apology is something you will never get from a grey, imagine yourself in her place and you might think you got off scot free.
  18. It doesn't surprise me that the dog in the video is a labrador, my favorite breed of dog, very gentle with small kids and protective to stay right with the little boy and endure whatever he doles out, thanks for sharing that with us Dave.
  19. Yes I do know it rains a lot in England but it doesn't dampen my spirit as we enjoy each other's company no matter the weather, going to spend a few days in London taking in the sights.
  20. You might want to hold off on the step up training until his pins open up as they can be somewhat irritable, those pins are uncomfortable for him until they open.
  21. Poor dear and it will be quite a while before she gets a full set of wing feathers.
  22. Thats wonderful Gwen, it always warms the heart to know you can take a vacation and come back to a sweet grey who missed you and didn't hold a grudge as a few can do, you must be doing something right.
  23. I usually have at least one bird nest around my carport usually in one or more of my hanging baskets, when I find it I have to be careful of watering the plant so as not to disturb the eggs and/or babies. Speaking of doves I usually see a few of them outside my house either looking for seeds or going thru the gravel looking for grit, I love their cooing also.
  24. Also one thing to be aware of is to keep Momo first in everything since he was there before the tiel, feed him first, speak to him first and so forth so he knows he is the top bird, thats what you have to do with a grey when they were there before any other bird is added to the flock.
  25. You can also take a stroll thru the homemade toys and playstands room for lots of ideas and suggestions for toys that are made of common household items and freebies.
