  1. Well congrats Penny on finally getting that tiel you have been wanting, I know you will enjoy it as I have mine although she gave me a mighty scare tonight by flying into a window full speed, she seems ok just a little subdued right now but it scared the crap out of me.
  2. That last one of the three is adorable, she still has those dark eyes yet, what a sweetheart.
  3. I would get the first product you listed free from pulp and you use it in a sprayer to bathe your grey, it is ok for them to ingest it but to help with plucking issues it is used on the body.
  4. I don't know whether its because of the great relationship you have with Issac or the great way you have of telling a story but I love to hear updates on what the two of you are doing and it makes my heart feel all warm and fuzzy inside, what you two have is precious and endearing.
  5. Vasa parrot Major Mitchel too Palm too Spix Macaw Hawk Headed Hyacinth Macaw Scarlet Macaw Lorikeet Jenday conure Cag Caique Ringneck Parakeet Eclectus male and female Thats about all I can identify, a few must be some amazons.
  6. That is typical of greys, they can play with anything and make it fun, love to see them hang upside down and swing about tapping his beak, what a cutie Koekie is, thanks for sharing that with us.
  7. Well just remember you can have the conure and the greys, they just need separate cages but I have 3 birds, my grey, a sun conure and a cockatiel as most of us have more than one bird or grey, its addictive I am afraid.
  8. I certainly hope the wood chips were removed from her playpen but usually they don't eat anything that is not food but then you get the oddball one that has to try it, hope it gets resolved soon.
  9. My advice is to forget about the cds, just use your normal voice and talk to your birds, tell them about your day, what you did and they will pick up what they like, of course if you emphasize some words it makes them more likely to be chosen to be repeated.
  10. A sun conure would be a nice choice if you don't mind a little screaming, they like to be with their owners and ride around on the shoulders, mine gives kisses and likes to cuddle from time to time.
  11. When they are molting they are usually itchy so be sure to give frequent baths as it helps, you can also get aloe vera juice that you can use straight from the bottle that seems to help even more, not sure about the availability in Slovakia but is usually found in the pharmacy section.
  12. It must be nice to live close to the coast so you can take in a day like that, I too enjoyed seeing the parrot prints in the sand, thanks for sharing that with us.

    Blue and Gold

Oliver looks so good in those new pics, he has come a long way from when you first brought him into your life and your home, I can only imagine how good he will look in time, he is such a lucky fella to land in your lap, thanks for sharing the pics with us keep em coming.
  14. Thanks for sharing some of your life with us, you have some lovely loves.
  15. I absolutely loved this video, the blue and gold was sitting there not in the spray until the other macaw came into the shower to enjoy it then he joined in the fun, wonderful video of both of them enjoying getting drenched, thanks for sharing that with us.
  16. That is adorable, only one of my birds will lay on her back and that is my sun conure.
  17. No they probably see their slave!
  18. The only thing wrong with these coverups is birds who like to chew, my conure would have that thing in shreds in no time which is why I usually wear old t-shirts when at home, they can easily be taken off when soiled with poop and another one put on, I have drawers full of them and they are getting kind of shredded looking. You made me laugh though Dave, thanks for that.
  19. You know even though these two greys have been housed together in the past I am not sure you shouldn't provide them each their own cage, you could have them out at the same time and they can be together to play or just be with each other but greys usually like a cage they can call their own, their place they can claim for themselves, their safety zone so to speak. This is my opinion but I think there are others who will agree with me on this point. You could have two cages right next to one another so when the doors are open they can go into whichever one they like. Maybe some of the other members will chime in with their suggestions.
  20. Yes 4 months is not a long time especially considering she was kept in her cage full time before you got her, it takes time to build trust and bond with her, she hasn't been treated very well so she is leary of new relationships but if you take your time and go slow she will come around. You have to earn a grey's trust so just keep doing what you are doing and she will come to allow you more interaction with her.
  21. Those "free" toys are the best and why spend money on store bought ones when these are readily available, if he is playing with it then its a hit.
  22. Sadly this is so true which makes it ever so important to observe your parrot closely for any kind of changes, thanks for the reminder for our avian friends.
  23. Do you know anything about her former owner and how she was treated? It helps to know some of the background from where she has been for they usually carry some baggage when rehomed. It will take time, you must be patient with her, I know it may seem to you that she has already been in your home long enough to get used to you by now as it has been 4 months but it takes time. With this behavior you are describing it sounds like she may have been mistreated and it will be a long haul to gain her trust but worth it when it does happen.
  24. I can attest to the fact that suns have little fear, they think they are big parrots in a smaller body but I keep some distance between my sun and my grey and they are fine with this, the only thing is a grey will mimic most anything they hear and that includes a conure's screams but she doesn't do it too often.
  25. I would advise you to read thru some of the threads in the Rescue Bird Haven room as they are from like people who have been there and done that.
