  1. I am afraid we have our answer since the person who started this thread has not been back, poor baby.

    Sweet babies !!!

Takes me back to when I first met my sun conure, adorable babies, makes me want them all.
  3. Wonder why she does that, hmmmmmmmm!!
  4. Thats what my birds do too, interesting how they do that instead of just eating the kernal, I guess it is just like they do a seed which corn is but we eat the whole kernal, they leave the hull.
  5. Congrats on your boy and he is growing up and looking like a very handsome fella from the 4th picture down, soon it will be time for him to come to his new home, know you can't wait for that, thanks for sharing the pics with us.
  6. I am sure that any interaction between Penny's birds and dogs is closely supervised as it should be, neither species can be totally trusted when left together without someone present, but that does make a pretty picture.
  7. My birds get the occasional treat of corn on the cob but it is in moderation.
  8. Yes Andy was a beloved man of honor and character, most everyone knows who he was and the shows he made thanks to the reruns, he will be sadly missed.
  9. Lovely scenery and a wonderful old tune, thanks for sharing that with us Dave.
  10. I haven't had any ant problems for years now, we have an exterminator service that does the outside of the house, I don't allow them inside the house anymore since I have birds but whatever they are doing is working for us.
  11. She truly sounds like she loves what she is doing, wish all breeders of birds could be so caring, she has truly found her calling.
  12. That is so precious, what a cute little budgie.
  13. My tiel does not enjoy showers, wish she did but glad to hear others do.
  14. You need to take her to see an avian vet as soon as possible as no one here is a vet and it is probably hurting her if she doesn't want anyone touching it, please let us know what you find out.
  15. She does look crazy but she definitely loves her showers, think she likes the camera too, thanks for sharing.
  16. Take him to a different vet if you are not getting satisfaction and make it an avian vet if at all possible.

    Tucker

Tucker is gorgeous as I am partial to the rose breasteds, there was a time when I thought I wanted one and almost got one but luckily talked myself out of it, I will just enjoy yours so continue to keep us updated on his progress with pics of course.
  18. The honeymoon is over now and more of the true personality is showing thru as a rehomed grey comes with baggage from previous homes, she feels more comfortable hence she is talking more but showing her hesitance to step up. Maybe back off a little and take it easy as you might be rushing it a little too much. She might just want to be close to you but not necessarily on you for some greys do not like to be handled much, in any case take your time and let her make the decision whether she wants to be picked up or not.
  19. Merlin is a handsome little fella and thats great you take him with you on errands but I must ask if you do so with him in a carrier or in a harness for if you do not then you are playing with fire for he may choose not to fly but if something startles him he might surprise you and fly away, just my opinion.
  20. If he is drinking more water then yes the poops will be watery but I would cut back on the grapes, they have very little nutrition since they are mostly water, only give 2 or 3 times a week but the blueberry a day is fine, greys don't need much fruit. If you have any concerns about his poops you can always give your avian vet a call and ask, no one is a vet here.
  21. Hello Timbersmom and welcome to our family, so glad you found us. Thats wonderful you could give Timber a new forever home and kudos for trying to get him to eat a healthy diet, it can be very daunting to get them started on a good pellet but keep trying and do continue to offer vegetables especially dark green leafy ones and experiment with different ways to see which is accepted more so than others. The following link I have included is to a thread on reading body language so read thru it as it should help you in understanding Timber. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/showthread.php?109373-Body-language-most-frequently-seen One thing you can do is get a scale that weighs in grams and keep a check on his weight. Pictures are always welcomed here so if you have some you would share with us please do so.
  22. If we are talking about jelly as in a spread for bread yes it has too much sugar in it, in fact that is the main ingredient and should not be fed to our birds, no wonder he gets crazy when he sees it but very bad for him I am afraid.
  23. Yes I do think he is finally trying to talk, some talk early and some late like Simon, guess he just wanted to take his time and keep you in suspense as to whether he would or not. They certainly do have minds of their own and yes like you I would still love mine if she didn't talk but it is the icing on the cake because she does talk. He has the sweetest voice because he is imitating you.
  24. Yay you managed the smaller size so now we can see how really beautiful she is, bet that is her favorite spot.
