  1. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee:rolleyes:
  2. I've seen this before on facebook but I never tire of hearing it, so sweet, wish my tiel would whistle like that, thanks for sharing that with us.
  3. Wow, look at that fully feathered Issac, he is really looking so handsome, what a transformation, I hope it lasts this time.
  4. Oh definitely better, she is adorable.
  5. I have never had to deal with this particular problem but I know there are others here who have and hopefully they will chime in with their advice. I know this is frustrating for you since you know nothing of his past but you will get past this, hang in there and be patient.
  6. Congrats on your first grey, believe me it is something you won't soon forget as they get a hold of our hearts and stay forever. It sounds like you have it all covered and are going about it the right way in letting her decide when she is ready to interact, looking forward to hearing more about Ava and maybe seeing some pictures of her.
  7. I am so sorry to hear this and especially after the vet visit but know that she knew she was loved and we all here grieve with you.
  8. I love to watch Josey bang her heavy duty bell just like what Timber is doing with her foraging ball, gotta love those play fights.
  9. It will vary with each grey, some days Josey will be more vocal than others and you never know what aspect of their environment may have influenced vocalizations, they notice everything and most of it is things we don't notice because they are so minor, minor to us but they take it as a big deal.
  10. I think Sterling feels the same as I do that 2 months is too young to be brought home by someone with no handfeeding experience. I think I speak as most here would especially our grey expert, Dave007, that handfeeding is best left to those who know how to do it, so much can go wrong and personally I wish it were a law that the bird had to be fully weaned before it could be sold but that's all water over the dam now. We are very passionate here about our greys and that can be interpreted as judgemental at times but we all want the same thing, to care for our beloved companions and give them the best we can give for they deserve it. We ARE here to help you in any way we can and it does seem you are getting advice from the store on handfeeding, hopefully Dave will be along soon to add to the advice. I have to agree with Charlies Dad that the feathers can seem purplish when wet but they all are different just as they all are individuals. BTW, hello and welcome to our family.
  11. I'd have probably opened a can of Whoopass on her if it had been my sister!
  12. Hello Button and welcome to our family. You have come to the right place to find advice on keeping these two greys healthy and happy.
  13. Oh and thank you for giving Oliver a new forever home.
  14. Oliver is in the early stages of adjustment to a new home, please give him time to adjust and settle in and that can take a while as grey time is slow. You will eventually learn his body language and it may be different from Charlies as they are individuals but it sounds like he is wanting to be with you.
  15. It can happen so quickly and to any one of us, good thing she came right to you.
  16. I bet when all the dust settles from the "new changes" going on right now Maalik will become more vocal so take a deep breath and relax a little.
  17. Hello Syed and welcome to our family. Charlie is adorable and I am so glad you have him in your life as he has had a rough start but you are asking questions and doing what it takes to make him healthy and happy, it shows.
  18. There usually is more than just one egg so I am not surprised, those fake eggs might be worth the money.
  19. Inara sounds like a real sweetheart and a much loved companion, my Josey will be 10 years old in a couple of weeks.
  20. They will lose several at the same time and usually the same ones on the other side, this is an ongoing process, hope you are not going to clip any more but leave him flighted.
  21. So glad to hear that Ollie is doing well, poor fella but it had to be done and he will be feeling better soon.
  22. Hello Neanderthal and welcome to our family. You have a lovely baby grey, they are so adorable when they still have the dark eyes.
  23. Yes, that is what you could do if she will allow you to touch them.
  24. Hello Adekolade and welcome to our family, I look forward to hearing more about your new little one and maybe seeing a picture or two as we love to see the babies.
  25. So far Josey has not laid any eggs and she is going on 10 years but my sun conure has had several clutches with 2 to 3 eggs each time, so far no problems. I allow her to "sit" on her eggs for a period of time and then like Dave said I take away one and then a couple days later take another and so forth.
