  1. Welcome to our newest room! This was actually an idea put together by Luvparrots & myself. We thought it would be fun, since it appears that our flock members are always trying to get to our keyboards. And when not allowed to express themselves here, they insist on pulling all the keys off in their dismay! The rules are as follows: STRICTLY for birds only! NO ADULTS, NO CHILDREN, NO PARRONTS ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN REPLYING TO THEIR POSTS.!!! The birds in this room have the right to free speech, picture posting of their parronts and/ or them if they desire. It is THEIR room to tell it like it REALLY is in their house. So don’t hold back birdies, time to let the REAL truth about your flock family out in the public forum! This room was designed & built by us, but it is dedicated in memory to our much loved friend and inspiration…..SPOCK. You will always hold a special place in the heart of the members of Greyforums. Live Long & Prosper
  2. Wow, what a good looking gang! We've waited far too long for pics. Nice job, and I especially feel good knowing that someone else has window sills that look like mine!!! Thanks for posting these. You have a beautiful looking Flock.

    Seeds..?

Short and sweet......onions, garlic, raw potatoes, avocados, mushrooms, all toxic to birds. My birds occassionally sneak a bite or two of a tomatoes out of my salad. I have never heard that tomatoes are dangerous.....

    Sweet babies !!!

How cute! Love all the pics!!
  5. Update! Well, I am on day 3. I bought some liquid bait containers from Home Depot. Tried 4 of them. They contain sugar and water and some chemical. They are enclosed, spill proof, and havea stopper like a sponge on top. I put all 4 under the birds cages, then went outside and sprinkled ant powder all around the perimeter of the house as much as I could, and sprayed ant spray on the outside of the windowsills. We keep the windows closed and use the AC mostly. I dared after one day to give them their regular food, left me toast and fruit for snacks when I went to work, came home many hours later.....and NO ANTS! So it seems to have worked! Thank you all for the greyt suggestions. I did try the peppers, but it only worked for the night. riki would not go in her cage because of the pepper smell......go figure!
  6. Love them!!!!! Wow beautiful pics!
  7. You ain't kidding! She has chased him by running after him across the floor, and she has been seen dive bombing him to bite him!
  8. Yes Judy, you are right I never trust my dogs around my parrots, no mater what! I was right there the entire time. I wouldn't even turn my back on them.
  9. You sure misread those pictures...that is a look of over excitement. She LOVES her showers and can't get enough. I NEVER give her a shower unless she wants it. I can read her to know when she does and when she doesn't. IF she didn't, she would fly off!
  10. Oh wow! Love the idea of soap bubbles in dishes. I may try that, but I wonder if my dogs would drink it. What kind of flowers keeps the ants away? Did you say marigold?
  11. Nancy, do you put the borax outside? I cant get to the underneath part of my house......should I put it around the edges?
  12. Yes, you need totally our bird back to the vet for a complete check up and bloodwork. We are not vets here and can not advise you in that manner. Maybe you could share a bit more history about your bird with us as well.
  13. Here is the link where i bought it and had it shiipped. I bought the same one for my amazon. http://birdcages4less.com/page/B/PROD/Large_Bird_Cages/PA5725
  14. I bought the inexpensive chir mats from Stples and have those under my cages. I have wood floors in the bird room. The other places I just clean up at night after they go to bed. I have ceramic tile, use a wet cloth and a Azores blade if needed. Janet, what do you use to hold the paper down, I would love to put down paper, but with my 3 flying, as you said, the paper goes flying too!
  15. LOL!!! Wait til Roxie mimics that! You are lucky, mu cag's favorite hobby is throwing my dishes on the floor and watching me smash! She loves it!!!
  16. I have been givingmPiper a misting from a spray bottle for showers since I can't get him to step up yet. He absolutely LOVES it!! He looks a lot like Nilah when he has a shower, but the most adorable part is when her turns to the side, lifts his wing way up as if to say, "don't forget my armpit! " Then he spins around to the other side and does the very same thing! It's so cute!!!

    Budgie shower

    That is so cute!!!!!
  18. Ww! What's very special woman she is. It is so nice to heard a wonderful, loving and caring breeder. We hear lots of horror stories, so it is refreshing to hear of a wonderful one. Thank you for sharing that experience with us.
  19. As per recommendations here, I ordered some freeze dried veggies & fruits from Nuts.com Wanted to share the box that the shipment came in....so far, my birds aren't too excited about them...but I continue to give them a few.
