  1. I wonder why they scream like that. Any one here know the answer to that?
  2. I'll video tape her this weekend and post it for everyone to see. It's pretty cool!!B)
  3. These are great stories, and wonderful names. My son named Talon. (after all Talon is supposed to belong to him, but.....) After a year and a half, we found out that he was a she, but no name changes here, she already new her name at that point.
  4. tiombe, 4 months is young to start talking. Give it lots of time, I'm sure he'll pick things up as he gets older.
  5. I;d love to see that! :woohoo:
  6. I do have ceiling fans, but I keep them on low. Talon doesn't fly much, so I'm not too worried about it. I odn't think she'd go near them. They're pretty high on the ceiling, and she can't fly that high without her wings hitting the ceiling. So not a problem here.
  7. Judygram, Sometimes good, sometimes bad. It depends on the toy, she definitely prefers smaller ones to bigger ones. ANd she hates the color white!!:pinch:
  8. Nice shots, Anna's pretty good with the camera! Now let the fun begin...................................:woohoo:
  9. Talon hates it if I move anything around in her cage! She will refuse to go in it. :pinch:
  10. Gibberish is good. When Talon did that, I would speak slow and clearly to her if I had an idea of what she was saying that is. I don't know if it helped or not. You could try that.
  11. Talonsis: and don't forget feeding horses, cleaning stalls, babysitting your brothers, and helping your mother download photo's because she stinks at that! Did everyone here know that Talonsis can JUMP ROPE WHILE ON A POGO STICK IN OUR DIRT DRIVEWAY!!! :woohoo: :silly: :woohoo: :silly:
  12. That sounds funny!!
  13. There is alot of toys in it. But if she is in her cage alot, it seems ok. Perhaps you could move some down below with a climbing perch to reach them below. It might give her more to do. They really enjoy climbing up & down.
  14. Sounds like it. She garbles, that's how Talon started out.
  15. Here is a good idea that I read somewhere and I don't remember where. Put a plastic office mat under your play area and /or cage. It makes clean up very easy. I've been useing that for about 1 year now and it works great!
  16. Judy, do you ever look them in the eye when they are most interested in your attention? Talon likes the morning time, I take here into the bathroom, (she loves it there) I get down to her level and say the word or phrase over and over, She looks at me very intently. (Almost like she's thinking I'm an idiot!) And I feel like one too! I do this every day until I hear her try to mimick me. It works pretty well, except it took her about 1 year to say her name. (I guess she didn't like it!!) Of course I started out with something very easy. A chicken sound and peekaboo, then good bird! Maybe this will help, or maybe I am just lucky!
  17. YUP, We'll just have to wait for the morning here, unless these night birds beat us to it.
  18. I will! AND What a great idea for credit cards!
  19. Errols mom, that is so cute!! Thanks for sharing that with us. I wish Talon would cuddle like that, she's not big on cuddles, mostly rubs on the head is all.

Hi & welcome! YOu have a beautiful bird there. She sounds like a good eater. You're very lucky!!
  21. Sounds like she's on her way, Judy. That gibberish will turn into words soon I bet. I spend alot of time with Talon when I want her to learn something special to say, she gets it pretty quickly sometimes, other times, it takes forever!!
  22. Never heard of that either, you should as advised above, get to a vet first thing , just to be on the safe side.
  23. I bet CD would like to see that. In fact, we all would! :woohoo:
  24. Have you had her long? If not, it takes alot of time before they trust you enough to pet her. Just keep up with the love & understanding. She'll come around over time.
