1. Loofa, I'm so sorry. What a disappointment. But there is always a reason for things happening the way they do. The baby meant for you just wasn't in that group. I know it's hard to wait, but it will give you more time to prepare and get things ready. Maybe you can keep us posted with pictues in the mean time. Hang in there, it will be worth the wait!
2. That's very good news! Definitely keep us updated.
3. Sounds like a hit! {Communicate-0002011B}
4. Just keep up the patience. You both have to learn to trust each other. Sounds like you are making some progress. Just little moments of time which will gradually turn into minutes, hours etc. is a great beginning.
5. Wow! Now that's Hawaii. Those are stunning photo's CD! You've really brought Hawaii to us this week, and it's been a fun adventure for us. Thank you for sharing your well deserved vacation with us. You didn't have to, but I'm real glad you did! And I'm even happier you did the climbing for us. Those are some spectacular views! Keep em coming!! But please take time to enjoy yourself as well.
6. Good Job, Cd. I'm very proud of you. {Love-0002011D} I know that wasn't easy for you. You're time will come to finish this.

Post edited by: Talon, at: 2007/05/24 03:57
7. I agree with Monique. Very good advice. You really need to work up enough trust so she feels totally at ease with her new home and surroundings. Then work on the food issue. One thing at a time if possible.
8. Talon hates showers, & spray bottles. I did buy the spray mister for birds. I have to put her in her cage, and use that to mist her until she's very wet. She doesn't like it very much, but eventually she gives in and just sits there. :unsure:
9. Right on, Judy!! {Feel-good-000200BB}
10. That's okay, thanks tho. I'm glad that it was so easy. Keep it up, especially as he gets older, so he stays comfortable with it.
11. I have one, but have been unable to put it on Talon yet? How did you do it so fast? :huh:
12. CD, it must be the cheerleader in me. {Communicate-0002011B}

Post edited by: Talon, at: 2007/05/23 20:13
13. Buck, perhaps your a little jealous? I'm also wondering, since there has been no mention of it, how do YOU even know what forum the rest of us here are talking about? Unless......................hmmmm........ And I so know for a fact that there have been, no run-ins with the "chief" since CD and his (how did you put it..... oh ya,) "cheerleaders" left. BTW, Still waiting for that pm.

Post edited by: Talon, at: 2007/05/23 19:11
14. Buck, you really don't want to get us cheerleaders going on this topic. Not here, but feel free to pm me.
15. Dragoneyes. Talon's beak started doing what sounds like the same thing. Our vet said it was because in the wild, they are using their beak in a much stronger way to search for food etc., but as pets they don't have to, because we hand everything to them, and things are easy to eat. He suggested giving her more toys that were harder to get treats out of, so her beak would get a workout. It has helped. If it gets too bad, they can file it tho.
16. Judy, I love the chief! And ya. I get it!!
17. Such vivid photo's. Very nice. I'm glad you shared this with us.
18. But she's not opening her beak, she does that at other times.
19. Judy, or anyone else who might know the anwer to this, what does it mean when they shake their head forward and back several times. Talon does that when I've been gone out of the house and come back to see her. She does it every time. I can't quite figure out what she's trying to communicate to me. Any guesses??
20. Very moving. They are photo's to be proud of. You were able to bring a piece of that history here for us, so that we could all remember the bravery that was shown. You did well.
21. Hi, Meghan and welcome. I think for 15, you sound very mature & very smart to realize that you should do alot of research before you make a lifetime commitment. As far as shipping, We had Talon shipped from Florida to Mass. during the cold December. (not too cold tho) It was touch and go, as you can not ship during certain temperatures. Our grey was brought to the airport at 8am, and I picked her up at 4pm. She was very young, 9 1/2 weeks old. She did very well. It cost me $150. Keep us posted on how you are doing, and what you decide.
22. No, not normal. All the good members left. {Communicate-000200D5}
23. Nice one, Judygram!!! I couldn't have said it better myself.
24. Spookyhurst, That was such an enjoyable story, an nice picture too!
