Well, I'm very happy you worked things out with you mistress. I'm sure you won her over with your singing to her. Did you bring tears to her eyes??? Perhaps now, you won't be so touchy and that "crease" that Judy said is hopefully gone. And thanks for being a good sport and letting us have some fun with you. Ya, Cd really knows how to put things in perspective. It makes much more sense with the hair analogy.

Snoozy said it right. They can't burp, that is why the carbonation is bad for them. And caffeine isn't good for any pets.

We have a tag in our family that is 20 months old. It is the only bird we have right now. We also have 6 family members to give her attention. She loves each of us for the different things that we each do for her. Our kids are 8,12,14 & 18. It seems to work well for us, as there is always someone here to pay attention to her. I am home alot, so she doesn't spend alot of time in her cage. But I'm sure others here have advice on that issue. Good luck with your decision, and let us know what you decide.

Very good advice above. You should NEVER strike your bird! They aren't able to understand why you did that, and will resent you. You can't discipline them like pets or children. They have a different mentality. The Beak Book is an excellant book to read. It will help. And ignoring them is the best solution at this point, but it will take time before you see any improvement. Be very patient with him. He should improve if you take all the advice given on this thread.
