1. I hope the time passes quickly for you. Please let us know when he comes home! That is, if your not too wrapped up in him and find the time to keep us up to date!! :P
2. Talon

nite time

I think what your doing is a good way to wean them into it. We cover Talon as we have the same issue. We have covered her in the beginning as well. She's fine with it now.
3. Hi, Becca They are called fly masks. We put them on before they go outside everyday to keep the bugs out of their eyes and ears. They go nuts without them, shaking their heads constantly!! And that was a very good question!
4. Yes, they can get respiratory illnesses that will appear as cold type symptoms. Sneezing and sniffles and be signs of that. We went thru that with our grey. He did need to be put on antibiotics for 10 days to clear it up. I would definitely take him to the vet as soon as you are able. Greys hide their illness very well, and if you see signs, then you should take him to an avian vet to be safe.
5. Okay, I'll go first......................there are a lot of good looking ones here. How'd we pull that one off ladies???? Maybe we can start a "BOYS ONLY" thread, and we can post pictures of all of them! :woohoo: :woohoo:
6. Talon

SHOCK

GOOD FOR YOU, ICE!! You said exactly what I was thinking.:huh:
7. Eeeew! I and a roommate had snakes, lizards, years ago. Had a snake get out for 2 months before I found it behind some books on the bookshelf still alive. I hated feeding them live crickets, or goldfish! Yuk! Gave them all away when I moved. Never again!! :sick:
8. Did you say $300? Wow! What a good price for that. :woohoo:
9. That's very good advice Judy. Talon will bite, but not hard. She mostly does it when someone is trying to get her to step up when she doesn't want to. She bites me, much less than anyone else, because I ignore it and make her step up anyways. The others in the house will say something to her, even tho they are told not too. Thus reinforcing what she thinks is fun! :silly:
10. Thanks Judy! I did not know that. But I do now! :dry:
11. Nice picture Cd. He looks so cute!

Post edited by: Talon, at: 2007/06/21 02:34
12. Judy, what about cooked mushrooms?
13. Hmmmmm................perhaps I will.
14. Are you the chosen one to rescue us damsels in distress?? {Characters-0002005D}
15. Richardsmommy That is a great picture and I love the caption!
16. I agree with Cd, although Talon was 8 1/2 weeks when we picked her up at the airport. I think it was very young for her to have gone thru such an event and change of environment. She had a rough 2 weeks when she first came. She was weaned, but longed for the only home she had ever known. It was very sad to see, but she adjusted well, and is a very happy bird now.
17. Do you try talking to him in a soothing voice before you approach him. Are you approaching slowly? Maybe more information would be helpful.
18. Heather, those are beautiful pictures. I love the colors in the gecco's.
19. I agree with Becca. I use more attention than treats when rewarding Talon. It seems to work well for her.
20. I'm with you Caspersmum. I'd be there with you as well! I guess we could hang out there together, until someone comes to salvage us? Anyone.............................{Feel-bad-00020072}
21. Talon was clipped when we got her at 8 1/2 weeks. She can fly, and learned how, as soon as her wings grew enough to try. I think it is, and always will be instinctive of them to try to fly.
22. Splint. That's great. Like Judy said, you are lucky, cause Talon hates to get wet also. Keep it up!!:woohoo:
23. Okay, everyone, I posted these 2 pictures so you can see for yourself just how much dander and feathers are floating around your house. These are pictures of the foam filter from one air cleaner that is under Talon's play cage downstairs. (I have 3 air cleaners downstairs, and 3 upstairs) She spends very little time in this cage, but will spend a few hours each day on the top or the outside playing. These are foam type filters that you rinse out each week. So, CD, if you haven't bought one yet, GO DO IT!! :silly:
24. That's great news!! I'm so happy. Whatch out, she'll be telling you what to do next!! :laugh: :woohoo:
