Steph, with all due respect,bringing him outside, is a catastrophe waiting to happen. Many members have felt the way you do about clipping and a false sense of security. Ask them, they have experienced a fright of a lifetime, some never having their greys lost forever.
Please do your research, and for HIS safety, put a harness on him! You are much too trusting, even with the dogs.
Also, seeing as it was only in the low 40's today where you live, that is much too cold for a grey. Anything below 60 outside where there is a breeze is too cold. They can get sick from cold drafts. We are just concerned for all greys here. We love them all like they were our own. Please don't take it as an attack.
