Yes, enjoy the cuddles as long as you can! I wish Talon was still cuddly, but at 2 1/2 she's too independent for that stuff, but she loves to be with us, so that's nice too!!

Hello and Welcome to our family. I agree, you are getting some bad advice. He needs to go to the vet, and NEVER use a dog/cat supplement on a bird. you need to find an avian vet before you try any home remedies. Please keep us posted, we care.

I use a basket with a handle on top as a perch. I have a 10lb wight in it, lined wit paper towels. In the am, as soon as I take her out of her cage, I put her on her "potty basket" and she goes there. Just a thought for you to try. B)

Yes, the others give goo advice. Ignore the bad behavior and reward the good is the only way to change bad habits. it does take a long time, but it can be done.

Yes, I agree. letting them stay out of their cage as much as possible is ideal. But you do need to stop reinforcing the behavior that lets him get his own way. He is training you, it should be the other way around. Perhaps leaving the tv on or radio would help him stay in his cage when you are not home. Talon does get upset if she is in her cage when I am home, but doesn't mind it when I leave.

WOW! I was gonna post here, but this is too much information for me to handle. :pinch: :sick: :sick: Anyways, Talon loves to walk around on the floor, but only if I get down there with her so she feels safe. I have a cat and a dog that I don't trust. (they like to play alot) So I limit her floor time, but she gets lots of time to walk around the furniture, and my bed!

Kristin, I'm so sorry to hear of this. I'm with Dan, red palm oil, aloe vera juice, plenty of baths, high humidity, lots of attention, and perhaps limit his cage time as much as you can. perhaps rearranging his cage would be enough of a distraction for him to "forget" about it. I know you two are moving soon, perhaps the anxiety of that is spilling over and he can feel it?
