1. Yes, they like to be up higher than you, but you shouldn't let them. They need to know that you are in charge, not them. You really need to be careful with your face, one bite by mistake can do serious damage. Many members don't allow their greys on their shoulders, but others do. It is a privilege they should earn only when they are behaving while there. Be careful how you say NO NO NO, it sounds like it would be fun for her to hear, maybe just a stern "No, followed by her name, I say, "No Talon, no heads" and put her elsewhere, I don't say it too sternly, as they like the influctuations in your words, it's fun for them to hear, and it could become a game. I'm sure others will offer different advice, just be consistent, and do what you feel will work for you.
2. This is a great thread!  When you are decorating your new house and your only concerns are where will you put all the play stands/ perches. cages/ etc. Also, you wear your coat and sweatshirts out of the house with dried poop on them and don't care, while your kids are all grossed out.
3. Hello and Welcome to our family. Sounds like it was the perfect match! I'm so happy you took her in. I look forward to hearing more, and please post some photo's when you can, she sounds adorable!! :cheer:
4. OMG! You poor thing!! Talon likes to try and go on your head, but I immediately take her off and put her elsewhere, and tell her "NO heads". :pinch: Maybe putting her elsewhere instead of on your shoulder after you take her off of your head, will help her to realize that your haed is off limits. It may have become a game to her to go from your shoulder to your head, only to have you put her back on your shoulder so she can climb up again! Sounds fun huh? You could try it?

i'm back!

WOW! I am so happy to hear you are well, and are back. We have missed you very much and I for one, was very concerned about you. I'm glad to hear that you are okay. :cheer: Welcome Back!!
6. OMG! Talon has her MOODS! Some days happy as can be, and others grouchy as can be, others feisty, others cuddly. I do use a lite for her when she is in her cage. She seems to like the warmth and the brightness of it. Our parakket LOVE their light, they are always sitting under it, and I do keep my house around 70-72 in the winter.
7. Thats all we eat in this house is 12 grain bread, (there are other brands as well)and Talon has always LOVED it!

22. Spooky, Niko sounds a lot like Talon. They both behave in the same manner. Sleeps 11-12 hours. Never has pooped in her sleep cage. Won't poop in her play cage. She has a morning potty basket she will poop in as long as I get her to it in time when she gets out of her sleeping cage. Other than that, she likes to hang out on the back of my kitchen chairs and poop off the back! :pinch: BTW Cool signature line!! :woohoo:

Post edited by: Talon, at: 2008/02/23 17:43
