7. FYI< this was back when we only had 3 rooms, not an off topic room, or the many that we have now.B)

The eyes, beak color, other than that, I'm not certain you can.
9. SORRY THIS ROOM IS TAKING SO LONG EVERYONE. JUST WAITING FOR IT TO BE BUILT, IT'S TAKING A LITTLE LONGER THAN EXPECTED.....................
10. I have the Nikon D40X. I like it very much! There are many options. It depends how much into photography you are. Are you a point and shoot kind of person? Are you interested in easy to use options? Or are you more interested in the quality, lighting, manual adjustments, etc.?
11. Okay everyone: it should be up & running hopefully tomorrow! This will be great! I will move this thread over into the new room, but we should add many of these ideas as separate topics! To be called............ Homemade Toys & Playstands

Post edited by: Talon, at: 2008/11/12 00:39

Found A Way!

I am so happy to hear this great news!! :) Thank you for keeping us informed! B)
14. I wouldn't mist him every day. He doesn't need it. Once a week is enough. I know others do it a lot, but my greys hate it, and I don't force it . They take their own baths when they feel the need, or if I see them getting dusty, or starting to itch, I will mist them. You have only had him home 10 days, it's too soon to expect anything other than him trying to adjust to his new cage, house, family, toys, etc. Just let him take the lead. Once he feels more comfortable and somewhat trusting, he will respond to you better. But it sounds like he's quickly on his way already!
15. Toni, just put it in your browser address bar and then right click, copy it and put it here. I like the idea of a Parrot Toy Room! Thanks for the suggestion. Karma for you!! How does everyone else feel about this idea?
16. Welcome Pam311. You will learn lots here, just ask if you need anything. Check out the various rooms we have. You will find lots of information there. B)
17. You DO own one, but you start out driving, end up with a flat tire, then the car overheats, and then the engine blows up because you never bothered to check the oil since 1969! And you never even made it out of the city or town you live in!! I win the lottery and am finally able to buy that beautiful island I've always wanted to escape to with my lover.

Post edited by: Talon, at: 2008/11/11 01:09
18. This was sent to me via email from a close friend of mine, I thought those of you in the United States might be interested in seeing this. It is based in Arizona. Interesting to watch. http://www.childdrowningprevention.com/index.html
19. Congratulations and Welcome to our family! You sound so excited, and I am happy for you. I have both, a timneh and a congo. But both of mine are girls. They are only 2 months apart. I have never heard that there is any difference as far as sexes go, but I personally see a huge difference in the speaking and personalities of my two. I don't recommend either one over the other, they are just different. B)

Post edited by: Talon, at: 2008/11/10 21:50
20. I am starting to feel creative do to all the recent threads scattered everywhere here in the forum from you guys. I bought the cupcake wrappers, the coffee filters, got the pine cones, but it was very hard to find the various threads when I wanted to follow your ideas. Could we maybe add to this thread so it will be easy to find when we are looking for something different and cheap to entertain our birds? I'll go first: I bought the buckets that hang in the cage, and wrap up foot toys, things like plastic bottle caps, sea shells, pieces of wood, bunny chew toys, small pieces of straws, uncooked funny shaped pasta, peanuts, pieces of broken toys (plastic or wood) and then I throw some almonds in there and plastic paper clips. Talon LOVES to chew the plastic off the paper clips! I get them ready the night before work, and put them in their cages when I am going to be gone most of the day. They spend hours playing and unwrapping things.
21. How the heck do you all find the time to MAKE bird toys. Every time I attempt to make something, my 2 are all over stealing from me or messing with everything before I get a chance to do it! I need your advice...do I have to wait until they are in bed like little children?????
