  1. This is sooo sad....I live about 3 hours away. I wish I could help......but I have 2 already.....plus 2 parakeets......plus one dog.......plus 3 horses.......please someone adopt this bird. Why such a cheap adoption price, I wonder....:huh:
  2. I live in MA, and am only 35 minutes from CT, NH, VT. I will keep my eyes and ears open.
  3. I have sent out a system message. These birds need our help, my heart breaks for them and their flock members. :(
  4. I LOVE PINK FLOYD!!! My daughter's boyfriend and I send Pink Floyd songs back and forth on Facebook. He is a huge fan like I am. Great taste Dan!! :woohoo:
  5. Dave speaks correctly. I, as administrator, may be a lot of things here on this forum, ANNMARIE, but the etiquette police is not one of them when it comes to decorum. Most of us here lead very busy lives, and are in a hurry and don't have the time to pick and choose our words so carefully. I agree with Judy, that "common sense" would dictate that you don't leave a bird to his own supervision loose in the house when you are not home. These are our opinions based on our experience, research, and we like to warn new bird owners of ALL the possible dangers that can lurk. IGNORANCE IS NO EXCUSE..... we are here to help and voice our concerns when we feel it is needed. As far as the "two year old" comment, no you wouldn't "cage" a two year old, I don't see where Judy said you would, BUT you would make sure that they were supervised at ALL times, for their safety as well.
  6. I love the firemen on a rope! Wwhat a great idea!! Thanks so much for sharing with us less crafty members.
  7. You guys are too funny! Thanks you for such a fun laugh here. {Feel-good-0002006E}
  8. Yes, teenage daughters have a way of doing that to us Moms! I still have that migraine hovering over me, but you guys seem to know what that's like. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone... Today, I need to so some more vacuuming, thanks to my thoughtful birds, ( I guess their afraid I have nothing to do) :blink: Then shower, off to work, then pick up my son from his Dad's, and then to the airport tonight to pick up my weekend company. I hope all here have a GREAT weekend!! :woohoo:
  9. Cageless is definitely not in the best interest of any bird. Just like us, they want a place to call their own. A "room" where they feel safe and secure that is just theirs, and not shared with their other flock members (us humans). There will be times when for the safety of your bird, he or she will need to be kept safe. Repair men, service people, deliveries, strangers entering and exiting your home. You will run the risk of them accidentally flying out if you are not able to keep them contained. Not to mention the wires, and other safety concerns. It is virtually impossible to "bird-proof" your home completely. Just my opinion. I would pick cage 2.<br><br>Post edited by: Talon, at: 2008/11/20 22:00
  10. Fighting a migraine headache, cleaning my house,doing more laundry,grocery shopping, having company again this weekend, so trying to get everything done beforehand. Now I'm getting ready to cook dinner, then I think I will put in a dvd and watch another episode of 24, my new favorite show! Then pass out to sleep!! Jeez, after reading this, I really have a boring life....
  11. I found the stuff useless! Poop-off I mean guys.....:laugh: I use something our local pet store markets and sells called Doo-Dissolve, it works great! Smells good, and quicker than water.
  12. Wonderful ideas! I am going to love this contest! :woohoo:
  13. Hmmmmmm. did you say "chains and collars"? :woohoo: MAYBE I SHOULD RETHINK THIS DECISION.....What do you THINK GIRLS?? {Feel-good-00020069}
  14. I agree, based on my experience with my 2 birds, a tag and a cag, there are definitely differences I see on a daily basis. And I don't believe it has anything to do with the way they are introduced to many new sights. I believe it is in their personality as well. Many people I know who have a cag has the similarity that I have with my cag, vs. my tag.
  15. It's 30 here, just had snow flurries.....am home from one job for a short time, and then off to my other job. Hope to be back here tonight to check in. Have a good rest of the day everyone!
  16. This is a wonderful article! I have both a tag and a cag only 2 months apart. And I see big differences between the 2 breeds. Not only in visual appearances, but talking abilities, stringing sentences together, interacting verbally with me, docile vs. nervous etc. I found this study to be very exciting, as I have believed since I have both that there are big differences. Karma coming your way for posting this! B)
  17. I am pleased to announce that Danmcq has been promoted to Moderator of all the rooms at Greyforums! He is not here to replace any of our moderators that are currently in place, he is only here to help out due to the fact that our membership has grown so much. It is always helpful to have 2 sets of eyes and ears. B) I am sure you will agree that he has more than earned it. He is always here for us, willing to offer advice, help, comments, a warm Welcome to our Family for our new members, encouragement when we need it, a joke when we need a laugh, he has done an incredible amount of research for us when we have asked questions, and have wanted facts to help us make important decisions for our birds. He is a good friend to us all, and he loves our birds as if they were his own, just like we all do here in this family we have built. I am happy and proud that he finds the time to be here as much as he is, he is a busy man with a very busy schedule, but he always manages to find the time for us here each and every day. He cares about us. Thank you Dan for all you do to contribute to our family. Please join me in CONGRATULATING DAN! {Love-000200BF}<br><br>Post edited by: Talon, at: 2008/11/18 16:40
  18. Stopping in this am for a quick update on everyones day. It's 29 here, sunny, but cold. I am letting the birds have their usual morning time after breakfast to chat up a storm, then I will take a shower, get the cages ready, and put them back in while I go to work. Will get home around 3, then off to take my daughter to her riding lesson that leaves us gone for about 4 1/2 hours until tonight around 9pm. Poor birdies, they only will get out this afternoon for about and hour and a half.....
  19. Wonderful idea Carolyn! And thank you for the picture, it helps those of us who are less creative.....:blink: :whistle:
  20. FINALLY! I have company this weekend, but will get right on this Sunday pm. But let's mean while start posting ideas !!!! :woohoo:
  21. I'm making this a STICKY in the Rescue Room.
