Thank you so much everyone for all the kind words.. I was a little disappointed that there were so few birds yesterday.. The fall usually has some wonderful opportunities to shoot lots of Birds Of Prey from that Cliff of the Hudson.. I'm gonna go back all fall and winter.. I should have lots of good photography to share with my online buddies.. Stay tuned... And Joe.. an extra thank you for saying what you did..

Thanks Talon.. You always say such nice things..

It was a beautiful day today so what better excuse then to grab the camera rig and head out to one of my favorite bird shooting spots.. It's a lookout high above the Hudson river on the Palisades Parkway.. Usually a great spot for shooting birds of prey.. Today there were very very few to shoot.. Maybe I was just there at the wrong time.. But I did manage to get a few I thought you would like to see.. So here's my "Hawks On The Hudson" photo gallery.. Enjoy http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/hawk6.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/hawk1.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/hawk5.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/hawk4.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/hawk3.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/hawk2.jpg

Talon, you are not that far away for you to make a day trip out of it.. and Tricky.. You live in NJ you should be there.. It's so close to you.
-
You take the New Jersey Turnpike (95) to exit 6. That's the Penn Turnpike. You then follow route 130 south to Burlington. Bird Paradise is on the right side a few miles down. We were there yesterday (Saturday) and saw the Pepperburg advertisements. I'm gonna go see her. If anyone here wants to make a day of it and go together we can. Contact me and we can make arrangements.. For those interested in seeing the largest bird store around you owe it to yourself and parrot to visit this place.. CD

Talon.. I love this idea. All too often we let ourselves slip.. A few pounds here a few pounds there.. Next thing you know, you're out of breath just walking up a flight of stairs.. Ask me how I know that.. Yes of course.. I was 40 pounds overweight not too many years ago... Felt horrible.. Couldn't do the things I wanted to.. One day I looked in the mirror and saw something for the first time.. I saw a FAT out of shape shell of what I once was.. I WOKE UP.. Decided that I wasn't gonna allow this to continue.. I did something about it.. Running was out of the question.. I couldn't run a block at first.. So, I ran as far as I could... then walked to catch my breath.. This continued... and continued...and continued... for months.. UNTIL.. that one day when I actually make it 1 mile without stopping.. Boy was I happy about that.. Then it was 1.2 miles... 1.5 miles.. and so on.. Today I can run 5 miles or more.. I run 2.5 miles every day and work out on my BowFlex daily... Ask me how I feel now.. I'm 10 pounds away from what I weighed when I was 30... I'll lose those ten pounds in no time now.. I don't get tired.. I take no medications... and pretty much feel 1,000 times better.. So for those that want to achieve something simular or more.. YOU CAN.. one thing I'll tell you from the start... ITS HARD.. but you know how the saying goes.. "Nothing easy is worth anything"... Always remember this in your quest.... "Small Successes breed more successes" CD

Yeah.. OK. I want a private plane now.. I know it's something that will take me quite some time to acquire but I want it anyway. You see one of my friends has a Tiger 4 seat plane.. This past weekend he invited me to come with him to Lake George New York for "lunch".. Yeah baby.. I wasn't gonna say no to that invite.. So on went my backpack (camera and lens) and off I went... Here is a picture story of the day.. I have lots of photos I didn't edit yet but I wanted to get these out to you guys... :) This looks complicated to me.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/cockpit1.jpg It was a very maintained plane for sure.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane1.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane2.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/me2.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane3.jpg No.. I wasn't really flying it.. But I did take the controls at times.. It's easy.. at least level flight in sunny weather is.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/me1.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane5.jpg Once up in the air the views were incredible.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/high3.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/high2.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/high1.jpg Here's a look at the runway as we touched down.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/runway1.jpg Once in Lake George I had so many great photographic opportunities.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/sail.jpg I wish I was on this baby. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/steam2.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/lake2.jpg Of course I am gonna find some birds to shoot.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/bird1.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/bird2.jpg Time for lunch.. How about a million dollar view.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/boardwalk1.jpg Well it was time to go.. Gotta get gas. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane4.jpg On the way home we decided to get daring.. Well at least I did.. So my friend slowed down the plane and opened up the canopy so I could get out in the fresh air.. Hey, I'm a photographer.. I take risks for you.. Here some shots of one of the planes we fly with.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane6.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane7.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane8.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane9.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane10.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane11.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane12.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/venuto/plane13.jpg I had LOTS of trouble hanging on to my camera.. It was windy.. Anyway.. That was my Saturday.. I hoped you like the photos and story.. For those interested my Camera is a Nikon D2Xs with 70 to 200 VR lens.. Nice combo..

Or this 3 Doors Down Classic.. "Here by me" I hope your doing fine out there without me 'Cause I'm not doing so good without you The things I thought you'd never know about me Were the things I guess you always understood So how could I have been so blind for all these years I guess I only see the truth through all this fear of living without you And everything I have in this world And all that I'll ever be It could all fall down around me Just as long as I have you right here by me I can't take another day without you.. 'Cause, baby, I could never make it on my own I've been waiting so long just to hold you And to be back in your arms where I belong I'm sorry I can't always find the words to say But everything I've ever known gets swept away Inside of your love And everything I have in this world All that I'll ever be It could all fall down around me Just as long as I have you right here by me As the days roll on I see Time is standing still for me When your not here Sorry I can't always find the words to say.. Everything I've ever known gets swept away Inside of your love x2 And everything I have in this world And all that i'll ever be It could all fall down around me Just as long as I have you right here by me -

Or how about this one.. 3 Doors Down. "Here without you" A hundred days have made me older Since the last time that I saw your pretty face A thousand lies have made me colder And I don't think I can look at this the same But all the miles that separate Disappear now when I'm dreaming of your face I'm here without you baby But you're still on my lonely mind I think about you baby And I dream about you all the time I'm here without you baby But you're still with me in my dreams And tonight it's only you and me The miles just keep rollin' As the people leave their way to say hello I've heard this life is overrated But I hope that it gets better as we go Ooooh Yeaahh I'm here without you baby But you're still on my lonely mind I think about you baby And I dream about you all the time I'm here without you baby But you're still with me in my dreams And tonight girl it's only you and me Everything I know And anywhere i go It gets hard but it won't take away my love When the last one falls When it's all said and done It gets hard But it won't take away my love Oooooooooohh I'm here without you baby But you're still on my lonely mind I think about you baby And I dream about you all the time I'm here without you baby But you're still with me in my dreams And tonight girl it's only you and me Yeeeeeeahhhh Ohh Ohh

Post edited by: CeasarsDad, at: 2007/09/27 02:16 -

This is a no Brainer.. Bon Jovi "In These Arms" You want commitment Take a look into these eyes They burn with a fire, yeah Until the end of time I would do anything I'd beg, i'd steal, i'd die To have you in these arms tonight Baby i want you like the roses Want the rain You know i need you Like a poet needs the pain I would give anything My blood my love my life If you were in these arms tonight I'd hold you I'd need you I'd get down on my knees for you And make everything alright If you were in these arms I'd love you I'd please you I'd tell you that i'd never leave you And love you till the end of time If you were in these arms tonights We stared at the sun And we made a promise A promise this world would never blind us These are my words Our words were our songs Our songs are our prayers These prayers keep me strong It's what i believe If you were in these arms tonight If you were in these arms tonight I'd hold you I'd need you I'd get down on my knees for you And make everything alright If you were in these arms I'd love you I'd please you I'd tell you that i'd never leave you And love you till the end of time If you were in these arms tonights Your clothes are still scattered All over our room This old place still smells like Your cheap perfume Everything here reminds me of you And there's nothing that i Wouldn't do to be in your arms And these were our words They keep me strong I'd hold you I'd need you I'd get down on my knees for you And make everything alright If you were in these arms I'd love you I'd please you I'd tell you that i'd never leave you And love you till the end of time If you were in these arms tonights -

I socialized Ceasar as soon as I got him home.. No sheltering in this house.. I invited EVERYONE over to see and handle Ceasar.. Today Ceasar amazes everyone that knows anything about African Greys.. I often get comments that his is so well behaved... I often go to Petco with Ceasar.. All the store employees come over and take turns handling Ceasar.. Ceasar couldn't be more happy.. So am I.. I'm not saying this it what everyone should do.. I'm only saying this is what I did... and it worked..

Post edited by: CeasarsDad, at: 2007/09/27 03:16

OH Melissa. I love you sweetheart. Happy Birthday baby.. I quess this is where I get to sing again.. I love singing.. Did I ever tell you that? Happy Birthday to you Happy Birthday to you Happy Birthday dear Melissa Happy Birthday to you Remember this one thing as you grow up.. It's from my favorite Motivational Speaker Zig Ziglar. He says "You can have anything in the world you want, just so long as you help enough people get what they want" That little bit of advice has helped me throughout my life.. I know it will help you too.. I love you Melissa... :)

daviddogma wrote: See... Can I read people or what... There's lots of other stuff I can tell you about yourself too.. but since this is a Bird forum I won't go there.. You see in my business I deal with machines all day long.. I know the type.. Please don't take this as me being disrespectful of you or your opinions as this is not my purpose.. You must realize that there are points others make that are equally as valid as yours are.. Your constant badgering for scientific proof all the time is growing old.. How bout people clip wings because they want to control the bird.. Is that enough for you? And who really cares otherwise.... If you have a problem with the "control" reason for clipping you should visit all the DOG forums where people put electric collars on their animals for the same Control.. Or how about walking a dog.. Aren't dogs born to run in a pack? So keeping one on a lease is cruel isn't? .. It prevents the dog from being what it was born to be.. Same point.. I could cite many more examples of you want.. but the point here is it really doesn't matter what anyone says.. Because you have DOGMA in you name.. We know what that means to begin with..
