1. Thank you MD. I couldn't have explained that better..
2. About eating. Get use to eating 5 or 6 small meals a day. NOT 2 or 3 large ones. Here's what I do. 1 Breakfast is egg whites on whole wheat toast. 2 At 10am I have half a protein Bar. 3 Lunch is a Subway 6 inch hero. Turkey on whole wheat. No dressing 4 Afternoon snack is the other half of that protein bar. 5 Dinner is usually what ever the wife made. Only in a "normal" portion size. No seconds. NO white bread of any kind. Eat whole wheat bread 6 Snack before bed usually is a low fat yogurt, a piece of fruit, or a small bowl of cereal. Special K or Mini Wheats. YOU DON'T NEED TO STARVE YOURSELF to eat right. The trick is to actually NEVER starve yourself so you keep your metabolism rate up. Eating small meals does this for you. Also you MUST exercise. Walking, running and weight lifting as necessary if you are ever gonna reach your weight goal. You must remember, it took lots of years for you to get out of shape. It can take years to reverse this terrible process. If you never start I can tell you that you will NEVER get back to where you belong. That's not an option right. So make up your mind that you WILL be changing your lifestyle. That is one of the hardest parts of reclaiming your life back. In the end, when you do finally "reclaim" your life back you will say it was all worth it. Not only that but the feeling you get from beating any and all weight problems is terrific. Ask me how I know this . We all know just how hard it is to stick to a weight loss program. Its hard because of poor attitudes on our part. We say " oh it's just a small ice cream, I'll make up for it tomorrow " NO YOU WON'T. Tomorrow you will be weaker. Instead of eating that ice cream eat the low fat yogurt. If you must snack, snack on Mini Wheats or unbuttered pop corn. Always remember "It's in the math" Your output should out pace your intake. 3000 calories in and 2900 calories out mean you are getting fatter. It's just that simple. The more calories you put in the harder you need to work out to get them off. That's why the attitude of " I'll make up for it tomorrow " NEVER WORKS.

Post edited by: CeasarsDad, at: 2007/10/22 06:11

7. I love the photos Melissa. You are developing a keen sense of composition. This is evident in this latest batch of photos.. However, I find it incredible you have a $1695 lens at your disposal and decided to leave THAT LENS HOME... :pinch: :pinch: :pinch: :pinch: :pinch: There are photographers that would die for that 70-200 2.8 IS lens you have there. But you decided to leave THAT LENS HOME.. OMG ;) ;)

Post edited by: CeasarsDad, at: 2007/10/18 04:17

9. Recent conversations in the IM window have caused some concern that needed to be discussed. It seems that most folks like a little "light" flirting between members. I agree that this is fun and welcomed. However, recently there have been some serious conversations about dating and meeting one another. If you are flirting with someone and it gets to the point where you want to discuss meeting that person please take that discussion into the PM system and out of the public eye. I want to also advise everyone that GreyForums.net is not responsible for events that might happen when members decide to get together in person. The purpose of this site is NOT A DATING SERVICE. It is a board for the open exchange of information on the African Grey Parrot. Thank you for you consideration and concern CD Talon Fairy Post edited by: CeasarsDad, at: 2007/10/17 03:16

Post edited by: CeasarsDad, at: 2009/09/29 00:30

11. I have 10 pounds to shed. It's the toughest 10 pounds I ever faced.. It requires yet another "adjustment" in my daily routine. I love the idea of a day of the week where we all check progress. As of today Monday Oct 15th I weigh 197 pounds. 7 pounds off my target weight of what I weighed when I was 30 years old.
12. TONS better.. Very nice.. I am seeing all the details in harrisons feathers now.. I think you are starting to fine tune your settings. Make sure you are shoot in NEF format and NOT JPG.. Convert to JPG in Adobe or Nikon Capture software (which is a must) Also you want to make sure your color space is SRGB which I see you are shooting in already. I like this batch of images.. The Nikon D40 is clear all the way up to 1000 and better on iso.. but I would keep it in the 400 range if you can. Lower Iso is always better. Remember to "follow through" with your shots.. DON'T MOVE THE CAMERA until you see the image in the viewfinder after the shot is taken.. Practice this always. No matter what. It's the biggest problem with taking photos with todays LARGE pixel count sensors.. I hope this helps you.. and you know I am always here to help you..
13. Heather. The higher Pixel count sensor you have there makes holding the camera steady more critical. I see you are using a pretty slow shutter speed of 125sec. Try increasing that to 250 or higher. Pay attention to your "follow through" as you release the shutter. Concentrate on seeing the subject just as you saw it before you released the shutter. In other words "follow through" your shot.. This is a typical problem for people that get new cameras of higher pixel counts.
14. Hi Fairy. It's been awhile since I responded to one of your posts. Sorry sweetie. Anyway, seeing this is coming from your 3 year old Point and shoot. (that really is a very old piece of technology) it looks pretty good. You can see that the in camera flash has burned out some of the detail in the image. There is a way you could help this camera in situations like this. Take a piece of tissue paper and scotch tape a small piece over your flash window. This will act as a diffuser of sorts and make your photos look way smoother. Give it a try. You will see sharper colors and an overall more contrasty image.
15. Thanks Val.. but this plane was far from a Jet..
16. Hi heather. Sometime is certainly a miss here. What shutter speed and all that other good stuff are you using?
17. Gee, good first thread Joe.. I have had LOTS of pro level Cameras over the years. I started in the Canon Camp but very early switched to Nikon. I've had every pro Nikon since the F3HP model. Today I am on my 3rd Pro Digital Nikon with the D2Xs. My previous model the D1x had over 100,000 images on the shutter. It NEVER failed me and I ended up selling it for $1500 in ebay. Not bad considering all the use I got from it. As you might know, Lenses are really the most important part of any camera rig. Pro Level Glass makes a HUGE difference in the overall color, resolution and contrast that is recorded on film or a CCD or CMOS chip.. So my lenses are Nikkor 28-70 2.8f and a 70-200 VR 2.8f Both are cream of the crop type lenses. I love the 70-200 focal length as this is EXCELLENT for shooting birds.. Especially if you put a TC converter on them extending the zoom out to 300mm It's also important to note for new camera users.. IT'S NOT THE CAMERA THAT TAKES THE PHOTO.. ITS THE PHOTOGRAPHER. Many many excellent photos have been captured with point and shoot cameras.
18. Talon. What can I say. I think you continue to prove to me that you were the best choice for Admin I could have ever made.. You are even better then me.. ;) Cd
19. The Tree Photo is unbelieveable. So nicely composed.. :P :P I LOVE it.. I also like the others too.. Great Job..
20. Hi Val.. We met already in IM.. thank for joining.. I hope you have as much fun here as daddy does.. If you are anything like your father our forum was just enriched 10 fold by you joining it.. :P
21. Arrrr... Thank you Judy.. I am happy to help keep you motivated. You have already achieved the hardest part of any workout routine.. Know what that is? STARTING IT.. You have done that... Now it's all easy from here.. There is NO QUIT.. You started and this will be a life long venture for you. One that you will look back on as a life changing event.. Something you and only YOU can be proud of as the ultimate achievement. It's not easy to start what you have started.. You stay the course. Remember.. Small Successes Breed More Successes.. CD
22. Melissa.. I didn't want you to think I forgot to say a few things about your latest images.. You know, I have watched your photography over the past year and across 2 different forums. I can remember those very first images you posted. While those photos back then were still very nice there is absolutely NO COMPARISON to the work you produce today. Your images are clearer, brighter, sharper and more important then anything they are composed better.. You are well on your way to being one very gifted photographer. I only wish I was as far along as your now when I was your age.. You always have me here to help with anything and everything you need.. Don't hesitate to call me when you need to... Love ya Kiddo CD
23. Gee.. no one ever called me a "special" friend before.. :P :P
24. Melissa OMG.. What beautiful photos.. It looks like these are your sharpest images yet.. See what a good lens will do for you girl.. B) Yes Muscleman.. that is a pro line canon lens and she DOES know her photography .. That lens is one that she will have for the rest of her life.. Now all she needs is a Canon Digital EOS Mark III to match the quality of that lens.. Are you listening MOM..
