1. Merry Christmas to all... and I guess it's time to start saying Happy New Year..
2. What a thoughtful post Ziggy. Such nice things said about this forum and it's many members. I'm very happy that this group has developed as it has. I can remember coming here not too long ago. I was looking for a new place to call home. This place was an empty shell of a forum. Little activity and hardly any regular members to speak of.... Soon, with the help of Talon, Judygram, DblHelix, DanMcq and others this place started to take on a personality of it's own. We were getting members joining daily. In just a few months this place ballooned to include more regular members then most sites like this. Members like Tari, Makena, Nevjoe, ILovemygreys, Beccy and other caused this place to grow even more. A quality board can only exist because of quality members. We are LUCKY that we are driven by the love of the African Grey. It is my belief that African Grey owners are a very special breed. Different then other "pet" owners. You only need to spend a small amount of time here reading the posts to realize this.. I wanted to thank EVERYONE here for making this the absolutely best Grey Forum on the internet. There are Grey sites with a larger Information database, maybe more members, perhaps a better software package running the background services.. BUT THERE ARE NO GREY FORUMS OUT THERE WITH A BETTER MORE CARING BASE OF MEMBERS.. :) I'm happy that I can contribute to this family. You may not see me around as much lately due to personal issues but rest assured that our team of Admins and Moderators are all capable of running this place and have shown to be the best management team in the internet.. Cd
3. What a wonderful thread this turned into. I love reading all the stories of success. The most important thing for everyone starting an exercise program to remember is this. NEVER QUIT. I say this because what often happens is you start out with good intentions. You work hard. You feel good about the effort. You don't see results you wanted right away. You are disappointed. You get depressed. You start eating again. You quit the program.. My wife says it all the time. "It took TIME to put all that weight on.... It's gonna take time to get it off" If you quit you make it that much harder to start up again later. So DON'T QUIT. Convince yourself that this is a change in your lifestyle. After a short time (about 1 year) you will NEVER quit. You will become adjusted to your exercise routine and actually become depressed when you miss a day. I remind you of something I say all the time.. Like everything in life you have choices.. You can choose to torture yourself with exercise daily OR you can torture yourself with pills and chemicals taken daily to keep you alive. Which do you choose? Your health is the most important thing you have. Forget about exercising to look better. Exercise to keep yourself healthy...

Post edited by: CeasarsDad, at: 2007/12/20 01:57
4. Hi Loviechick These bring back memories of when I visited Hawaii. Thanks for reminding me of just how wonderful that place is..
5. Fairy, Podcasts are audio shows that are downloaded onto an Ipod or other MP3 style player. There are podcasts for just about EVERY topic known to man.. Some of them are pretty good and provide great information.. The best part of it all is they are FREE.. You can find podcasts on Itunes just by clicking on the PODCAST button located there. CD

14. Hi Judy. By now it's pretty obvious.. You are the posting champ of all time here at GreyForums.net. In fact, I would venture to say that you were the quickest to 5500 posts of ANYONE on the entire internet. I don't know this for sure but I would think you have most beat in this department. Judy, since the beginning, way back when I first met you . You remember that place long ago.. that ghost town once called a Grey Forum I realized that you were someone I could call my friend. You were always there with encouraging words and thoughts. You always looked after me as friends do. I will never forget that time we spent there.. I moved into a nice new forum. As a friend, you followed and hence started on the the most impressive collection of posts I have ever seen. At first I thought I could keep up with your post count. I was wrong. Soon the difference between you post count and mine was like the difference between night and day. You simply blew me again. The best part of your post count is the impact it has on other members here in Grey Land. Certain one could judge your impact just by reading your guestbook.. So lets once again visit your guest book and take a look back in time as others signed away under your profile. Talon A wonderful, generous, thoughtful lady to all. A very special friend to me. 15. My heart breaks to read this story. I guess you never know what might affect a living organism While Garlic might be OK for 99% of all Greys that eat it there is always the possiblility that it will cause a reaction. Much like Peanuts do with certain humans. It's tragic when things like this happen. One thing I would tell is that you didn't cause this and did everything you could assure your Grey was eating safe foods. My advice to you would be to buy another bird ASAP. Ask me how I know this. Yes, in fact I lost 2 of the most loved pets I ever had. A European Starling named Hercules and a Dusky Conure named Sammy. I still have a heart ache because of those deaths.. But you MUST go on and give your love to another creature. You might even find that things happen for a reason in life. I know I found this out myself. Cd
16. Hi Dan. Sorry to give you the extra work buddy but I sure you can handle it. :P :P Congrats My Friend. You have defined what a moderator is. ;)
17. Hi everyone. I wanted to tell you that TalonSis, everyone's favorite young photographer, has been promoted to Photography Room Moderator. I think everyone would agree there is no better person to take over this room then her. She is ambitious and excited about photography and it shows. She will be a GREAT asset to this forum and to our staff of Moderators and Admins. I would love if you could take the time and congratulate Melissa on this wonderful new job. DON'T LET US DOWN KIDDO. :) I'll Go first. I love you Melissa, congratulations on your new job. I KNOW you will do it better then anyone could. Make me proud.

Post edited by: CeasarsDad, at: 2007/11/08 12:42
18. Very NICE timing on these shots melissa. It's not easy to time these shots. You did a GREAT job at clicking the shutter at just the right time. ;)
19. You got the shutter speed set just about right. Here you can see that you need the 2.8 f stop those lenses have. Without fast lenses like this you couldn't do this photography. :P
20. WONDERFUL photos. I see you have your REAL lens with you this time. :P Good looking photos Melissa. I'm proud of you Kiddo...
21. They just completed a study that says more people are killed on the road at this time of the year AFTER this clock change.. It wouldn't surprise me if they stopped it all together at this point.,
22. It is really just that. It does require a new mind set. Less junk in your body and more of the things that your body really needs and wants. When you think if it this way it's much easier to have the will power that is necessary to sustain this "new" lifestyle. It's works. I can say I experienced this "new" lifestyle. I know you can too. It only takes STARTING. You did that Judy.. The rest is easy.
23. I like the D80. What Nikkor lenses do you have?
