  1. So sorry to hear that you have to rehome your girl. You might want to list where you live in case there are any local people interested in your girl.
  2. You've just given me some ideas to do with Maalik! He'd love that!
  3. She'll be fine. It might take her a few days to settle in, but she still has you plus all her familiar toys and cage.
  4. He looks very happy perched beside you.
  5. Sully is a spectacular looking Grey! Happy birthday to Sully! Looks like he has some gorgeous scenery to take in while he's chillin' outside. Will he be getting a special treat for his birthday? Oh, and how quickly can he complete his Rubics cube?
  6. Maalik and I regularly engage in contact calling. It's a lot of fun for both of us.
  7. I'm a 'no clip' proponent, too. I love that my birds can fly around. We make certain that there are fail safe precautions in place before they're even let out of their cages. Is your baby weaned, or are you hand feeding her? Greys take awhile to wean. 16 weeks on the average is my understanding that most greys take before they wean themselves. I got my boy when he was 14 weeks old, and continued to syringe feed him until he was 17 weeks of age. Congrats, and welcome to the forum! Looking forward to watching your baby grow!
  8. I'm very surprised that she hasn't tried to redecorate the wood on your cabinet doors!
  9. That was so darn cute! She looks so chill as she gently spins around. Maalik loves to make himself spin around from the bottom of his toys while he shrieks for joy. I just might have to give him a shot at our ceiling fan now!
  10. He looks so "Glad" being inside that box! :-)
  11. There are several other forums out there that you can also try. Don't know if I can name them here or not, but google, using bird or parrot forums and see what pops up. Good luck.
  12. Precious girl! I love it when people post their Grey's pics, especially their baby's pics. Makes me feel all nostalgic.
  13. Please don't overlooking shipping. It's really not bad. Many of my birds and animals were shipped to me over the years and they all did great. It's simply a very small adventure in their lives that will lead them to their next wonderful forever home. Opens up many more opportunities for you to find them their next best new home.
  14. Nice idea! I'm all for keeping messes at a minimum. You might want to tape that pokey wire down as it could possibly impale him if he were to land or fall onto the debris catcher in a weird way.
  15. Who would have thought that bottle caps could become such an entertaining bird toy? Gonna have to try making one of those, too! Maalik loves his plastic chain with stainless steel bell hanging from the bottom, too. The more dangly and noisy a toy is, the better!
  16. Here's another great You Tube of a zon singing opera. Such a fun clip!
  17. I put both coconut and palm oils into my fids' birdie bread
  18. So adorable! My Panama Amazon loves to sing and whistle along with us as well.
  19. Nice toys! But doesn't Sully get scared by your skeleton poster?
  20. My grey loves stainless steel bells and anything he can hang upside down from. So dangling toys are my boy's favorite toys! I have 8 other fids, so they keep each other stimulated with general vocalizations. Oh, and of course they have us as well to keep them entertained! As far as foods are concerned, I strongly recommend giving your grey sweet potatoes or yams for their vitamin A content, plus any leafy veggies you can get them to take. My birds will eat their green veggies, but only if I've baked them into birdie bread first. My grey also adores fat juicy pea pods and pomegranate seeds. Slightly cooked carrots and broccoli are also on his 'like' list, but never in their raw state. Can't wait to see pictures of your new baby! Congrats!
  21. I'd back off the petting for now. Will he perch on you without biting you if you don't touch him? If he doesn't bite, then there's your answer, at least for now.
  22. Awww, I love wet birdie images. Very nice photographs!
  23. So sorry to hear this news, but I'm so glad that he's now on the mend. Sending healing prayers your son's way.
