  1. oooooo love the baby pictures! What a glorious adventure you have ahead of you!
  2. Well I did eggs, mashed sweet potato and a banana. I didn't get a total rejection, but he wasn't as excited as I hoped. I may have to try another mixup.
  3. Yes, as the others have pointed out, not being the "chosen one" doesn't mean you can't have a good relationship. It takes time and patience though.
  4. I'm not giving up, thanks for the encouragement! That's why I enjoy reading about Miss Gilbert so much. She is an encouragement to us all. I really don't think Timber every fledged. He always looks so surprised when he flies, and doesn't seem to know he should be flying. I still hope that with time he will figure it out
  5. Wow, what a find! Lots of good info there.
  6. Sully's looking good as usual! He seems to be liking the perch.
  7. Hello and welcome to you and Mama Mia! I also hope you will post pics. I am lousy with photography, but like a proud parent I post them anyway
  8. Looks to me like it would work. Would you concrete the poles in I assume? Considering all the navigating they have to do to fly around inside a house, I wouldn't think the beams would be much of a risk either.
  9. She is making great progress! I've been hoping Timber would take flight again, but so far he hasn't.
  10. Hope you can figure out how to get a picture up, we all like to see aviaries! Most of us are looking for ideas we can make work if we don't already have one.
  11. Progress indeed! It is so satisfying to watch them come out of their "shell."
  12. Neat video! I haven't seen too many of Amazons in action. Thanks for posting
  13. Hello and welcome to you and Bella! Just leave the cage door open and Bella will come out when she is ready. As the others said, it takes time. Just be patient and give her plenty of time to settle in and get used to you and her new environment.
  14. I did not know that Ray. More than I would have thought!
  15. I'm going to give it a shot. Timber is sooooo picky!
  16. Or, maybe you are now dubbed "boo boo" rather than "Lulu"
  17. Great news about the good report on the bloodwork! That is always such a relief. They seem to be doing very well together. Keeping my fingers crossed
  18. LOL! Timber does similar sometimes but I swear he is just mocking me, and not in a nice way!
  19. LOL No, he is feeling comfortable and secure now. Let the real Peck stand up!
  20. How tragically awful for you. My heart goes out to you. I hope you are able to find answers and that you will share them when you do. Don't torment yourself with coulda, woulda shoulda's though. Like Jeff, I'm thinking of having full bloodwork done as a result of your post. I think all of us ask ourselves if we are doing enough with the diet, the vet, etc. etc. In the long run, I think the forum members do the very best they can. As several of our members can tell you, it isn't always enough. God bless!
  21. The beak looks majorly better! Timber has a "bad toe" as well. The vet said it was probably like that from birth. It doesn't affect his mobility that I can tell and doesn't seem to bother him.
  22. What beautiful birds! Happy hatchday to the "flock"
