  1. Looking great! That reminds me of the formula we use at my house. Any time you are attempting a home project or repair of any type, make your best estimate of the time it will take. Multiply by 3. That will be the hours required. Works for us every time!
  2. Wow, look at how she's grown! Beautiful
  3. LOL You are making us work for it Ray! I'm not saying a word, everyone else will have to look too!
  4. Nice job! Wish I were so industrious...
  5. Not sure how long it will keep alex. I give Timber a quarter cup everyday and it lasts fine at room temp until the 3# bag is gone.
  6. I know nothing about babies so hesitate to comment, but when my adult acts similar it is because he wants my attention and wants it pronto.
  7. I posted this on your facebook page but I'll say it again here, get signed up for amazon smile! I'll pick Marden's Ark when you do. Just keep us posted.
  8. Timber likes http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=23423 in the Tikal blend. Like everything else, tastes are very individual from bird to bird.
  9. I'm glad all is well. Better safe than sorry is my motto too!
  10. Maybe you should add a section to your website bluedawg! "Exclusive parrot toy designs" or the like...
  11. Very interesting stuff, thanks for posting! Lois, I have the backpack Pack-o-bird but no experience with the other.
  12. Looks great! Can't wait to see the finished product
  13. Mine is a pole type with an adjustable "neck" so I place the light part on top of the cage. Mine is like this: http://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Med-AvianSun-Deluxe-Floor/dp/B006L49LHC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1408286893&sr=8-2&keywords=avian+sun+light
  14. The instructions with the bulb should tell you what distance it needs to be from them. There is also a "burn-in" period with the bulbs that calls for a different distance, so read the instructions carefully. In my situation, placement of the bulb is difficult too. I put it 18 inches from one of Timber's favorite perches. However, his cage is very large and he moves all over it. I'm not sure how much time he gets under the light with the proper distance, but we all do the best we can!
  15. Congratulations on your new arrival! Post some pics when you can
  16. What a beautiful baby and how exciting to finally have her home! Can't wait to here more as time goes by. I love seeing them grow up on the forum
  17. I am a rehomer and don't have any baby experience. I do know that they like to do the "scratch and kick" even as adults. Instinctive behavior I believe. As Inara said, someone with baby experience will be along to help!
  18. Interesting, and I had no idea!
  19. Haaaa... usually when the preacher is walking in the door!
  20. Loved all the stories and "witticisms" from the birds! Loved the pics too Dave. I was just thinking as I was reading this that they really do put things together themselves. Timber says a few things and I wonder where he got them or heard them. Now that I think about it, he may just be putting stuff together. I don't say "let's screw" for example, but I have told the kids to "don't screw around with that" and similar. Considering how they can come up with their own phrases, I'm being to see the light here. Timber says "damn bird" in a low voice and really drawls it. It's possible that he was called "damn bird" at a previous home, but maybe not. He has heard "damn" a few times I know, usually with emotion, and we are always saying "bird" this or that, so maybe he put it together himself. Interesting, and keep the stories coming! I love reading them.
